Great video. Question. Can the seal behind the stator be removed without splitting the whole engine. I’ve an oil leak on my ktm 250 causing charging failure. Can only think leak is from that seal
The bolt without the copper washer should be placed back while the piston in TDC. In that position the tip of the bold end up in a dimple in the crank just to hold it at TDC. You put a lot of pressure on the crank. When removing the flywheel, keep the wrench on the puller , the crank should not move. In fact you do not need to remove the copper washer and bold to remove the fly wheel.
@@Cryptix37 just use the torque wrench. You can put a locking gear or a copper washer or copper coin between the primary gear and clutch or put the bike in gear after the drive chain is placed. The torque on the puller to remove the flywheel is much higher than the torque on the bolt that secures the flywheel.
@@wil9650will try. I think I’m going to go buy both impact gun and torque wrench. The only concern is that cheaper torque wrenches are not reliable, but probably will do

Aloha from Hawaii! Mahalo for the video. I have a 2012 ktm 350 xcf. Think I may have the same problem. My E-start will crank but won’t turn over, and my kick start feels like it’s spinning all the gears including the torque limiter gear. I removed the torque limiter gear and my kick start worksite bike will run. I was hoping you could shed some light on my problem. I’m thinking the torque limiter bushings are shot and that’s why it won’t work. However I think it’s more then just that. Could you help please?
What symptoms were you seeing that led you to want to replace the freewheel gear and bearing. On my exc 350f (2013) the starter motor does not seem to be disengaging so when I use the kickstrter I can feel and hear the motor spinning making it hard to kick over. The bike also will not start. Just cranks over when using the electric start.
Hello, do you know how to remove the electric starter, I’ve tried for hours now and I’m wondering if the only way is to remove the flywheel as shown is this video.
Pour retirer le démarreur il faut démonter les 2 carters côté rotor, celui devant et celui derrière le rotor et la roue libre sinon risque de casser ton carter ou l’engrenage du démarreur entre dans le carter
On my KTM 350 excf 2013 model the thread size on the puller is 26 x 1.0. Enter your bike details into your favorite parts website and the right one should be listed. Brand really doesn't matter.
@@troytranter3701 Thanks for the reply. I ended up just putting a socket in the flywheel puller because the little lug that was included didnt fit. Got it all worked out though.
good vid my husky wont start fuel spark but wont go , took it to shop they think the key on fly wheel may have broke, didnt no about this but if it goes again will do it my self after watching your vid.

The gear next to the flywheel comes off at the same time as the flywheel (they come off together) and you use a punch in the small holes to knock the bearing out in the flywheel.

Not sure I've never had to replace that
How did you find torquing and removing the flywheel bolt as its spec is 70nm I’m worried it could shear the bolt holding the engine locked in at tdc

What about when installing? Should an impact gun be used or the locking screw?

Bike wasn't starting and kick starter was jammed.
I'd be interest to know if this XC flywheel fits EXC by the axle hole. I don't care about the location of the trigger teeth.
