    Hi (Bonjour), great technique.
    We improuve it by using a 20w diode laser cutter to cut more complex designs such letters and curved lines. We put monokote on glass with windex and start the laser @ 6000mm/min 15% power. We get very clean cut, no char. We complet with pressNseal technique. Voilà.

    Came out pretty good, I would most certainly want to put some kind of clear coat over it to ensure it does not peel off.

    • @FlightReviewz
      @FlightReviewz  5 років тому +1

      Thank you Jerry. If you take your time ironing it down and use the Monokote trim solvent, clear coat is not necessary. We have planes that are 8+ years old that still look great.

      Don't think normal wrap will work. This was filmed and tested using Glad Press and Seal.

    this is very good guys. I have one question, are there any other options besides using press n seal? Bcoz i can't find this in my country. Appreciate your response. Thanks.

      you can try masking tape, just apply it to your pants so it is not so sticky.

    Great Video guys, Please do a video for Doing the Same with Ultracote/Oracover? Ie Applying Multilayers with no bubbles? This would be fantastic!

    • @FlightReviewz
      @FlightReviewz  4 роки тому

      Thank you, Lee. We will see what we can do. Ultracote is much more difficult to do this with, but we will try to come up with some tips. BTW: we feel the end may be near for Monokote so we have some plans for some videos with new ideas on applying a trim scheme.

    I suppose if I wanted to do a wavy checkerboard, that would work to, may be not perfectly symmetrical on both sides.

    • @FlightReviewz
      @FlightReviewz  3 роки тому

      You are correct. A wavy flag shouldn't be symmetrical anyway in our opinion...

    About 15 min is good. I have 3 kids so it may already get interrupted. Great content though. Besides. Smaller “concentrated/specific” videos are great. I learned a lot in just a few minutes even though I’ve been doing this for 30 years. 👍

    Is that not a waste? can the pieces you discard not be used for the other side?

    • @FlightReviewz
      @FlightReviewz  4 роки тому +1

      Yes Gary, you can use them for the other side, the only issue will be getting them to line up exactly. I have used them for the underside of the wing and for the stabilizer, where if the alignment is off it won't be so noticeable.

    • @JBenson76
      @JBenson76 4 роки тому

      To add to the previous reply. Another thing to consider is that you would generally mirror the pattern on the other side. There is always some waste when it comes to covering but I feel the final product is well worth it!
