Ever since Marvel officially announced BLACK PANTHER in 2014, it's been my most anticipated movie on their schedule. More than AVENGERS INFINITY WAR, this is the character and the movie I've been waiting for, and every move they've made so far has increased my excitement.
T'Challa was my favorite part of CIVIL WAR. CREED was my second favorite movie of 2015 (after THE FORCE AWAKENS), so I was thrilled to hear Ryan Coogler was signed on to direct. The rest of the cast filling in around Chadwick Boseman looks terrific.

Black Panther was the very first black super-hero ever. He came before, Luke Cage, Storm, Falcon, Black Lightning etc... Black Panther is the VERY FIRST black super-hero.
Being the Black Panther, T'Challa has access to a heart shaped herb that only grows in Wakanda and can only be eaten be those of the royal family. This herb gives him superhuman strength, agility, senses, accelerated healing and the knowledge of all Black Panthers before him. He also has a connection with Bast, the African Panther Goddess. Wakanda is a country that dwells in both technology and magic.
