Lucky enough to call Lanark my home club. It’s a sensational course and great to see this giving a platform for others to come and find out how great golf is on the moor. Thanks Andy for the glowing review.
It was always going to be tough to follow Ireland off the beaten track, but you sure did hit the spot again with this one at Lanark. Having visited Scotland several times over the years I have never even considered Lanark as a course to visit, but you have single handedly changed my thinking for the future.
What a Scottish surprise. It almost looks like it could be in the foothills of the U.S. Appalachians or wherever else someone might imagine. Just beautiful (though I think they've all been beautiful).
Heading to Scotland from Portland, oregon usa in sept I will definitely check out this course Thanks, great channel!! Forge ahead it is wonderful and amazing videography and photography!!
Another great video at a lovely course and location Andy! The views and layout look brilliant. On what you said in the video, watching your off the beaten track series has inspired me to go and play some of these courses (I'd love to go and do the ones from your recent 'Irish swing'!) and I'm trying to plan a trip to go and play Southerness, Powfoot and maybe now Lanark as a 3 dayer later in the summer! Keep up the good work!👏
I femember telling you about Lanark when you were building your van. Said youll need to get yourself up and play it. 2 weeks ago was our anual invitational day and the greens were rapid. Shame you're not around now for another go! With the rain, the rough is so tough now. But the greens are superb. Glad you loved it 👌🏼
Cheers for the video! We’re leaving Devon at 5am Tomorrow morning for a 7hr drive to play Lanark! Then off to Troon for The Open on Friday! This place looks amazing. Can’t wait to get involved Tomorrow 👍💪
Another brilliant review Andy, golf for me is not just about the game itself. At 75 my best golf is done but the rest of "golf" the course and is surounds, the wild life the layout are more important these days.
This could be a contender in September. Joined Tain after you visited it’s a long way from home inCornwall, would normally fly up but in September my son and me are driving. Over night stay at mothers b&b at Barnard Castle so this would be a good stop off plus it’s a James Braid as is our club, favourable rates. Great video.
Looks a belter. Bittersweet video for me. Was supposed to play Lanark a few years ago on day 1 of a Scottish golf trip. However an accident on the m6 (we were travelling up from Liverpool) meant we were unable to play it. The club tried to accommodate us but a packed schedule meant it couldn’t be made to work. Clearly time to head back!
A wish you could have told me you were coming up to lanark a would have tried to get the day off with the members a know and we could have had a game with yourself a hope you enjoyed it
Love this one Andy. A very beautiful course. My kind of golf. I don’t care much about playing famous courses with greens fees in the hundreds and hundreds of dollars because I can’t afford them. That is golf for the very rich. The cost takes the fun out of it. And many famous courses are strictly private with membership fees of $100,000 or more, years long waiting lists, and you need to be sponsored by a member to even be considered. That’s the world of the billionaires. I play a half dozen very good county owned public courses, including one that hosts US Open preliminary qualifiers and stretches 7400 from the tips (at 83 years of age I have moved up to the 5800 - 6200 tees), play during the week and after 2 pm when fees are well below maximum weekend morning fees, and buy an annual senior discount plan for $50. I sign up as a single and am happy to play with anyone. All combined it means I can play a round for $42 including cart. I like courses surrounded by woods and natural areas, not lines of fancy houses I also can’t afford. So, Andy, this is an ideal course for me. Thanks for the beautiful photos.
Courses you enjoy and have fun not fight each hole are the courses I like to play . I enjoy watching the courses you go to . We have a nice little course here in Sullivan Indiana , small town It is demanding but me and my wife enjoy going out and playing it .
Enjoyed this Andy played Lanark a few times great course , we have a reciprocal with it , hidden gems , you should try the West coast Ayrshire along from Dundonald ,, Largs golf club is outstanding and always great condition and West kilbride Keep the content coming
Cracking course. It’s a bit out the way but reachable by train if you are in glasgow or Edinburgh I’m only down the road from it The new club pro, Graham Gormley, is a great coach. Helped me with my game based on what movements my body can do Can’t wait to see how the pro shop & coaching will be taken to a new level
I have to apologize about something. I just watched an episode on the Luke Kwon channel and left a comment that his channel was quickly becoming my favorite. A minute after I posted it I realized my mistake. I think what prompted the comment was it subliminally reminded me of your channel using nice music sprinkled in and scenery. Not as artistically as you do though. Of course your channel is my actual favorite. Never stop making episodes.
I'm literally just of the course, Lanark held a midweek gents open competition today, more clubs need to be thinking the same due to the amount of people who work shifts. 140+ entrants at £35 a head, that's roughly £5000 of income on a Tuesday (minus a couple of hundred for prizes) and may just stop the members being burdened with a membership increase next season.
Coops & I were lucky enough to stumble upon this gem on one of our work trips up a few years ago. Been itching to get back ever since! Great track! 18th tee shot gets the juices flowing doesn’t it pal. 🫣🥴
Another brilliant video Andy. You’re telling the stories of real golf, both verbally and visually. Love your work. I’m living vicariously through you!

Lucky golfer, superb

Yep Ireland a tough act to follow
It's giving me serious baby brother Gleneagles vibes, looks a superb track, great work.

Yes it was a surprise to me also
Another brilliant video Andy. These videos are very special and opening peoples eyes to the hidden gems that exist in the UK.
Wonderful Story .love it
What a well manicured course. Each bunker was trimmed to perfection and the greens looked impeccable.
We agree!
