We always had an earthenware pot for storing drinking water in India, during my younger days. These were not expensive and one could not miss observing the perfection of such everyday items. There were also other artistic earthenware such as stools which you could sit on embellished with figures and hand painted with colors. We always thought about the farmer and his labour but not so much about the humble potter. Probably one of the earliest forms of meditation of service to others with no appreciation. Thanks for the video!
This is a wonderful technique I have been learning the Westin technique for a few years and I would like to try this. I just need to build a slab roller which I can do because I have a metal working shop as well. I think this is a much better technique you have a stronger pot. I want to make a large gochujang pot to make a big batch of gochujang I don't know if you know what that is it's from Korea. It's my favorite thing. Thank you for this video I'm going to watch it over and over and try and copy what you do I know that it won't be easy And I just realized you call this a kimchi pot so you most certainly do know what I'm talking about when I say gochujang pot
I was taught to perfectly "center" a ball of clay on the wheel, which is challenging enough itself. Then you are supposed to open a hole in the center and gradually pull up subsequent "waves" of clay. This technique does away with that very difficult and unnecessary technique! Bravo!
To call that unnecessary is incorrect. That's like me saying that something else is obsolete just because I can do it my way. Don't forget the gentlemen in the video is skillful enough to make what he does look much easier than it actually is.
Bendiciones 👍👍👍👍👍
I want to try this technique. I am American but I grew up eating kimchi and and many other Korean foods I've learned to cook Korean dishes best I can on a normal stove. I want to try and make my own gochujang because it's very expensive here in the United States. So I'm going to try and learn this technique to make myself a nice large gochujang pot
Just watching this is unveliveably calming
I've watched this at least 12 times. I am so amazed by the technique.

That fellow has thrown a few-perhaps thousands. Lovely work.
I know. It is brilliant, incredibly time saving (and back saving). Very clever lad that one!!
Incredible process. Especially for something so large. Very nice and round too.

Beautifully made, with Best Wishes.
Every now-and-then a mere upvote doesn't seem adequate...
I really like the technique he used to build his pot
A hard working talented man. God bless him.
i realize I am quite off topic but does anyone know of a good website to stream newly released tv shows online ?

This is not an unnecessary technique... It just take a lot of work, but when you start to be good at it. It's a real pleasure

Wow. don't let what he's wearing fool you. He's definitely a master of what he does
excellent video and final result :)
Now I know why God compares himself to a potter, this art is perfectly beautiful, in talented hands.
