one of the many things i truly love about this song is how matty healy incorporated the word "surrender" instead of the excessively used and cliche "falling in love". it felt so authentic in a manner that one would risk to knock down their fortresses for that person and it's simply enchanting.

In my head, this song is tied to breads. My boyfriend and I used to call each other "loaf". On the day of our 3rd anniversary, he passed away. I’ve learned about this song the day after my ex-everything got married to the girl I’ve considered family. It was like the universe was crying with me at that time, all the pain, frustrations and disappointments ran into my mind and I couldn’t help but mourn that day.
