I performed No. III "Les mains de l'abîme" (The hands of the abyss) once in recital. The opening chord frightened people. The middle section reminded one family member of a tugboat ride in their youth. It proved to be a good diversion. I can't imagine performing all of Livre d'orgue in recital. As they say, "a little goes a long way" and "it's for the birds."
Astonishing piece. Possibly Messiaen's most radical piece (?). Alive with tidal waves of extraordinary invention. Marvellous performance and upload for which many thanks.
I once played "Chants d'oiseaux" as an Easter prelude! So beautiful!

So beautiful and fluid. The birds songs on the organ are so nice ❤️❤️
i love the organ pedal chord at the end.
so good...
Sounds like a whole jungle screaming at each other on musical instruments.

Encore un bel exemple de la fumisterie de la musique "contemporaine"... ça me rappelle quand je mets mon chat sur les clavier!
