A true auditory awakening, this interpretation of Messiaen by Boulez, the Cleveland Orchestra, and Aimard is a musical masterpiece that perfectly evokes the singing of birds.
What a cool piece! I had two magpies fight in my garden the other day; one trying to kill the other (but the victim luckily got away). I think I heard that fight there in the music for a while. I also recognised several other birds, like the great tit and of course the woodpecker.
Wow, I am an avid George Crumb listener and have payed almost no attention to Messiaen, but this is so similar to the sound world of the first two Makrokosmos.
Don't you think the bird singing is fascinating ? The fact is one does'nt hear them in, for example, german music which is perhaps more formal & cerebral . The relationship between the french composers in general and the multiple natural experiences is strong.
The music of Nature. A Masterpiece!
Couldn’t ask for a better performance or a higher quality recording, what a treat 🥹

what a cute photo of Messiaen
The most extraordinary performance of a most extraordinary work!
I think Messiaen must have been a real genius, not only in ornithology, but in transforming all these bird sounds in this wonderful piece of music!

What is it with France and birds? Clement Jannequin, Jean Philippe Rameau, and Olivier Messiaen, all birdy stuff

@@DAVEDIKIAN Hm. C'est interresant. Oui et non. J'aime la musique française. Mais c'est un peu ridicule aussi.
@@johnmanno2052 Chacun peut avoir son opinion sur cette question. Pour moi ce n'est pas une musique très interessante, je vous l'accorde.
We FUCK birds here, mate
@@DAVEDIKIAN если Вы согласитесь ответить: а какая музыка для Вас интересна?
13:38 onwards amazing
Omg, real nature music
I literally just went birdwatching. UA-cam is creepy! this music is very accurate
Never heard a bird sound like this.
❤💕💕💕
The most bearable use of the Eb clarinet
Easier to listen to than Webern's Symphony Op. 21.

The idea is not relatable to me. Though, great performance indeed.
Apprezzo molto alcune composizioni di questo autore ma questi uccelli sono da rinchiudere in un sanatorio
A 5 minute piece would have been better.
Wait until you listen to "From the canyons to the stars"...
Ma non fate prima ad andare in un parco?
