Can you please explain the memes of each state?
I'll try my best. The first one about Burgenland: Burgenland produces wine, exspecially in the south of the state this is the case, thus, there is the guy with the wine glass. The blonde with the croatia thingey refers to the fact, that there are many croats living in some parts of Burgendland.
Catinthia: In the background you can see one of the many seas in Carinthia. I would guess, that that's the Wörthersee, since it's the best known one. I am not sure, what the guy on the left depicts. The Slovenian is there, because there is a largie Slovenian Minority in parts of Carinthia. Even some signs, when you enter a village, are in Austrian and Slovenian
Lower Austria: In the Background, you can see St. Pölten, which is actually my home city. The blonde with the cross, refers to Lower Austria being quite rural, conservative and also religious. The guy in the n@zi uniform, refers to Udo Landbauer if I am correct. He is the current vice "Gouvernour" of Lower Austria and he is in a right wing party. Also, in his youth, he was a member of a group, that had a song-book, in which they made fun of the H○l○c@ust.
Further explenations will follow
@@lucavonhabsburg270 Thank you for your time and your patience.
Burgenland:
As mentioned earlier, Burgenland is known for its extensive wine production. The girl wearing a "Croatia" top with a cross symbolizes the significant Croatian population in the region. Many individuals from the ex-Soviet bloc also reside in Burgenland. The somewhat provocative outfits may suggest that there are limited activities in Burgenland aside from enjoying wine and sleeping with your girlfriend, particularly during the colder months.
Carinthia:
The Slovenian character represents the historical relationship between Austria and Slovenia, which has faced challenges. A past debate on multi-language road signs resulted in incidents where right-wing individuals vandalized non-German signs. The portrayal of the femboy character stems from online jokes about the perceived effeminacy of Slovenian men. The character on the left embodies the image of a "cool" rural individual, as imagined by someone from the city.
Lower Austria:
This region is characterized by its conservatism and strong religious influence, symbolized by the Catholic girl. The presence of an SS soldier alludes to the existence of right-wing strongholds. Conversely, the cheerful individual on the left reflects the geographical and economic prosperity of Lower Austria.
Salzburg:
Highlighted by the background castle, Hohensalzburg, and the figure of Mozart on the left, Salzburg is depicted as an affluent and cultured place. The character on the right, with a stylish appearance, signifies the stereotypical image of a prosperous individual from a wealthy family, likely engaged in studies or work in Salzburg. The inclusion of a Red Bull can nods to the company's headquarters in Fuschl am See, which is in Salzburg.
Styria:
The left character, representing a communist, reflects the unique political landscape of Styria, particularly in Graz, the capital city of Styria, they have a major from the communist party which was voted into office out of pure spite for the established politicians. The Terminator character in the middle pays homage to Arnold Schwarzenegger, a native of Styria. The character on the right, with moonshine, embodies the rural stereotype, emphasizing the region's penchant for alcohol consumption and local humor.
Tyrol:
The left character dons traditional Tyrolean attire, while the middle sign highlights the historical dispute over South Tyrol between Austria and Italy. The right character enjoying hiking showcases Tyrol's reputation for outdoor activities.
Upper Austria:
The left character personifies a traditional rural villager, while the middle figure likely represents an overworked industrial worker, considering Upper Austria's industrial presence, including the Voestalpine steel mills. The right character is a straightforward representation of Adolf Hitler, who was born in Upper Austria.
Vienna:
The left character, with Turkish heritage, symbolizes the diverse immigrant population in Vienna. The middle girl with LGBTQ stickers represents Vienna's open and progressive nature, with a strong LGBTQ community. The well-dressed character on the right suggests an interest in cultural activities like opera.
Vorarlberg:
In 1919, there was a referendum in which the people of Vorarlberg expressed a desire to join Switzerland. However, this request was denied, as it would upset the linguistic balance in Switzerland. Despite this historical event, Vorarlberg is often considered uneventful by most Austrians.
