Id recommend checking what material those bags are made of before purchasing, the first link is LDPE which is fine if not in contact with direct sunlight for a long time but the secondlink specifies no material and some cheap plastics arent that healthy, hence why they arent resuable and just used for packaging
EDIT: As i expected, you explained it :D

You mentioned putting gravel in the bottom and trying that out. I'm in the 120F+ desert and blowing oven-like winds, so I try to keep water in all of the trays of my plants 24/7. To avoid root rot, I always make sure the planters have a combination of sand and vermiculite and anything else inorganic at the bottom for what will be underwater. It helps to prevent rotting and anaerobic conditions, plus being closer to the actual potting medium, it helps to cut down on the water perching effect.

The smaller version of those works great for soapmaking. You can tie off the end or hit them with the impulse sealer(15 to 30 bucks)
By the way, the impulse sealer works faster and better as well as last longer. The heat tape is also cheaper to replace that it is on the vacuum sealers because you know namebrand and all that.

Almost anyone can get pots for free if they live close to a few nurseries btw. The first one I call every year is more than happy to give me a couple hundred free pots out of there dumpster. Should last a couple of seasons at least. I made some hanging growbeds 8ft long x 30" wide, basically polypropylene woven weed barrier (10yr guarantee) attached to a rectangular timber frame (2x4`s ) with 3x3 fence post legs. The weed barrier forms a "hammock" in the frame (suspended in mid air) which is filled with compost. Its free draining and provides more oxygen to the roots than you can shake a stick at. If you fill it with coco you can add a sloped loop of greenhouse poly etc to direct the nutrient back to the reservoir. Dont use cheap spun weed barrier, it`ll fall apart.

Here's some info I got from chatGPT
Black LDPE bags, like other plastic products, might contain various additives to enhance their properties during manufacturing. Some common additives that might be used in the production of LDPE bags include:
UV Stabilizers: Black LDPE bags often contain UV stabilizers to protect the plastic from degradation caused by sunlight exposure. This is important because black plastic absorbs more heat from the sun.
Colorants: Additives are used to give the LDPE bags their black color. These colorants can include pigments or dyes that are approved for food-contact applications.
Antioxidants: Antioxidants are added to plastics to prevent oxidative degradation, which can occur due to exposure to heat and light.
Slip Agents: Slip agents reduce friction between the LDPE surface and itself or other surfaces. They can improve the bag's handling and prevent sticking.
Processing Aids: These additives help during the manufacturing process by improving flow and reducing sticking.
Plasticizers: While less common in LDPE, plasticizers can be added to enhance flexibility. However, their use is typically more relevant in PVC (polyvinyl chloride) applications.
