The passion Duke has for his fighter is like a father protecting a son like in rocky 3 the way he dives in to defend rock like he did for Apollo in the previous films says it all.
Duke was a real boxer before becoming an actor. That’s why the scene with Apollo about “not needing a man like that in our life” and the missing and best moment “You cut him. You hurt him. You see he’s not a machine he’s a man” were the best moments of Duke.
One of the things that Duke said was “we don’t need that kind of man in our life” well Duke didn’t really know Rocky back then but now he does when he trained him
Steve Jobs watches Duke's swagger at 3:45, and says to himself: "That black turtleneck -- that will be my look every day from now on...." Seriously, though, Duke's presence throughout the Rocky films is absolutely inspiring. He should've gotten a best supporting actor Oscar in both Rocky I (see the meat locker interview scene) and in Rocky II ("...we don't need that type of man in our life...").
Tony Burton that portrayed Tony (Duke) Evers was a former professional Heavyweight boxer out of Michigan. He was perfect for this role as Creed's trainer.
To be honest, I don’t like the Director’s cut of Rocky IV because although it fix most everything and having more drama, they skip all the iconic scenes of Rocky IV and everyone is not having their moment including Paulie. I prefer the complete cut of Rocky IV because it have the mix of the Director’s cut and the original cut and is so beautiful and the complete cut was made by Zach B
Missed the best one in Rocky IV. "He's cut, He's cut. You see he's not a machine, he's a man'
He said that while managing Rocky after Apollo died.
I agree, that line makes me tear up.
That’s the best one! Thank you
Absolutely, right on the money!
Oh my ❤❤❤

Duke man , wise and a father figure , when I was a kid I thought he was a real boxer trainer. Great Cast , miss him

„“I saw you beat that man, like I’ve never seen a man got beaten like this before….and the man kept coming after you,”
Carl Weathers was so brilliant in Rocky 2. Creed's obsession to destroy Rocky in this rematch and redeem himself really came across.. RIP Carl..
Wow. So cool you got a video to showcase Duke. Such an underrated character in the series.
I hate it with a passion when superior actors like Tony Burton are so under appreciated 🤬😡!!.
What's overrated is the "under appreciated" "underrated" trope that keeps popping up every 5 minutes everywhere.
Best line from Duke "All youre strength! All your power! All your love! Everything you've got!!!".....
The rocky 4 speech in the house is the toughest thing I’ve seen in my life 💀
Hit the one in the middle! I just love paulie
Rocky had Mickey and Apollo had Duke! And in Rocky III and thereafter Duke trained Rocky.
One of the things that Duke said was “we don’t need that kind of man in our life” well Duke didn’t really know Rocky back then but now he does when he trained him
Nobody was better than Duke he was the best.
Great guy . Miss you Sir
0:18 "stick himmm 👹"
Cowabunga! "No Pain No Pain" 🥊👍
Duke ist the Best!!!!

I thought the exact same thing haha that iconic black turtleneck
When Apolo died...one part of me died too.
😢❤
Nobody could’ve played this role like Tony Burton, this is one of those cases of PERFECT CASTING
"This is your whole life " end of rocky 4
Tony Burton that portrayed Tony (Duke) Evers was a former professional Heavyweight boxer out of Michigan. He was perfect for this role as Creed's trainer.
No pain🎉🎉🎉
Apollo didn't let it go, he wanted a rematch. At first, he said, there ain't gonna be no rematch.
Underrated character
Bro is the GOAT
Duke est un sacré entraîneur même le meilleur je regarde les rocky depuis mes 4ans j'en ai pratiquement 34 j'aime toujours autant
I wish you guys would include stuff from the director's cut of Rocky IV.

Rocky IV was probably the biggest part in Tony Burton's career.

Ripped
Shredded
Apollo's wife was so beautiful
You notice his wife in these movies is different then in creed
Plus he has 2 kids what happened to the other kid
Боли нет
Avon Barksdale has a lot to learn from his old man
Dude.
Do you realize @Nintendo made @MikeTysonSuperPunchOut based on Rocky?
Tony should’ve gotten so much more work off his performances in this franchise.

Carl Weathers looked like he was sixty-five doing this movie
He dies in every character he plays in the movies.
Shame they killed him off in the beginning of the movie
