Everything about this mission gives me goosebumps. The presence of the Hrimfaxi, the tense dialogue, the burst missiles, and you're in the center of it all. And it's all tied together by an amazing soundtrack.
Scinfaxi was the first version, Hrimfaxi the second with improved weaponry, and the third(and probably the last) the Alicorn, it doesn't necesary tell about weaponry.
@@Narrator1 well it exists a game called In the Hunt, a submarine arcade game, the story is about "D.A.S", wich it means Dark Anarchy Society, but the emblem is just a big red star and comunism logo in the center. But yes, is still a submarine game, and remember Bandai Namco once would be a shooting game similar to Call of Duty but settled in Strangereal, and would be a Sapin soldier, before "A World with No Boundaried" with V2 destruction by Cipher.
For some reason, when I first finished this mission, I felt for certain that the game would end very soon, but it kept going. That isn’t a bad thing, I was just surprised.
I played 5 after 7,0 and 4. It is indeed a surprise considering the mentioned only have around 18-20 mission and 5 goes above and beyond with almost 30 missions.
Lol I remember first playing this game and skipping all the briefs so I just sank the defending submarines and would always fail cause I never knew which submarine to destroy lmao good times.
interesting part about that is that you can actually see Bernitz (Grabacr 1) shoot down both Pops and Bartlett if you don't engage Pops yourself, I've even had runs where I've shot down both Pops and Bernitz
little nitpicking dettail at 14:47~16:15 but bith the recording time and actual date change after almost 2 minutes pass. the battery stays at 72 minutes the whole time... that's either a developer oversight or the camera has a really good battery
My favorite mission on this game, it has a lot of meaning to me when i was a kid. Briefing and Dialogue English isn't my native language, thanks to this mission and Aces, i've had the patience to read every sentence, every word, then translate to my home language (portuguese), and from there, i've got more interest on learning the english language. The dialogue in this mission is so surreal, the enemy are just normal soldiers, doing their everyday job, just like you, too bad you have to take then down, or its going to be you and your allies the ones who will die. Music. This music is a remix of the Scinfaxi song, ibut in my mind, scinfaxi song was an incomplete music, because, the battle incomplete. Don't get me wrong, in my mind, having the arkbird to help can be a relief, but in the meantime, it takes the challenge of the battle. But this battle, it is incredible, those guitar really make a great addition and makes the sense of urgency become even more real. By the way, this game, to me, is a perfect way to show how, storytelling and music, can put a soul in a "silly aircraft game"
so every time a big thing in history happens Razgriz reveals itself as a demon, but then it returns a time later as a hero what if we the player play as Razgriz in all the games, Zero, 4, 5, 7 etcetera
Is the 5000 foot floor just a polite suggestion? How exactly do you evade it? I remember there was a chance Stonehenge wouldn't take you out in AC4 in those missions but that seemed more luck-based than anything.
It's a second crewman, a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO). They specialize in weapon systems and sensor functions. Of no use in the game, but I think they included the co-pilot to make the F-14 Tomcat (along with other two-seater aircraft in the game) a little more accurate. Realistic.
Hobbie Ren No, it is a clone of the pilot, with no emotions, no soul, and no purpose to live. They are there because they wait to die in a blazing wreck. Now you might not have known this, but that's ok, it's hard to take in the truth.
I can’t do 3rd person. It’s all HUD or nothing for me. I’m really good at this game and I feel like there’s too much to worry about while trying to juxtapose the camera to the area you need while flying the plane.
Nope. The furthest you can get is between the bottom two picket submarines before you're detected. Destroying the picket subs also alerts the Hrimfaxi, and the mission progresses as normal.
@@Phantom.Gaming64 Plenty of pilot jobs in the military and civilian sectors yet he picks FIGHTER pilot? Pretty much the only pilot job that involves killing people?
There are other reasons, especially when higher positions of certain careers require experience that you can only get in the military, the air force especially. It applies more for Nagase in this case. I don't know about Chopper, but I can guess he also wanted to fly in jets you can only get in the military air force, plus defend his beloved country.
Lone Wanderer You don’t have to be pro-war to serve in the military. And yes you might kill someone during your military career but that doesn’t mean you have to enjoy it or shrug it off every time you do so. In fact, people usually don’t sign up with the intent of killing people, it’s to defend yourself and your country.
*flies into the refueling drogue at mach 4.5, tearing it off and almost destroying the tanker*
Refueling tanker crew: Perfect, Blaze!
Wait that’s Mach 4.5 that that’s like Mach 2 or some shit

Yeah the newest ace combat is kinda lame in my opinion to these older ones
Gotta love how Chopper complains about waiting for the Hrimfaxi IMMEADIATELY AFTER IT DIVES FOR THE FIRST TIME
SALVATI- Wait... Wait... wrong submarine aircraft carrier
I mean the Alicorn was built after the Circum Pacific War by Yuktobania as a more powerful successor to the Scinfaxi class (Scinfaxi and Hrimfaxi).
Scinfaxi was the first version, Hrimfaxi the second with improved weaponry, and the third(and probably the last) the Alicorn, it doesn't necesary tell about weaponry.

you people ever shut up about it...!?
16 freaking years later and I still remember this mission, its dialogue and soudtrack. 2005 was the greatest year of gaming!
Our base commander is Peter Griffin and this mission was basically SALVATION in a far more miniscule scale

13:08 the music fits with the burst missile explosion
My favourite part
The song around 15:00 when he's interviewing the old pilot sounds like "Arcade Riding High", track 67 on the OST. In case anyone wondered.
Hah, it absolutely is!

We need this game to remastered
Yes.
Thank you for uploading all of these videos. I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid. It's like reliving my childhood once again. Thanks, ace.
1:16 I started to believe that Blaze was the one who said that to his crew even though he is a mute guy
And then I discovered that Hornet anti-ship missiles work on it and bam, super easy victory...
I've got PTSD from this mission
13:41 ….the sound of absolute disappointment and disgust from Yule command had to be a highlight in this stage 😒
Pops and Captain Bartlet were shot down in Area B7R during Belkan War. This only happens if you play mercenary route

Yes
