This is a new defensive stat designed to increase the amount of 'effective' HHP you have in the game and give you more surviveability. How will this change things in the game? Well I give my thoughts on the pros/cons.

How about fixing some of the basic gameplay actions that make the app crash and force you to restart the app?Check alliance, try to look at events, enter a chat, try to locate a ship, attempt to enter your station, etc.....
And I thought that was only me.
That happens to me a bit on my old phone. Rarely in my newer one.
Best part is, that even happens to me while looking in the shop. They cant even bother to fix stuff to make the buying experience better. /sigh
As a f2p that has just moved to OPs 50 i already can't keep up with the vast amount of research still outstanding, just no way to get the needed lat/speedups required now.

I did all that work to get strike team crews and they bring out an overpowered officer that makes them all useless. Why waste my time with pvp at all?
This is why I don’t PvP at all in this game anymore. It’s not worth the time and effort.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who just watched the Update 67 video by Bek and saw that it is the DEFINITION of quantity over quality. Because we all know that half of the stuff she talked about will be epically broke on launch.

Worried these new primes are gonna be way too op and make the gap between whales and plebs much larger
They added so much insane damage in PvP that they're now trying to undo it, First with the Cephalocasque giving insane Isolytic defense, now this, and it looks like that Tree has anti-Crit stuff etc...
So they're trying to fix the game they broke with totally imbalanced Isolytic that negated the Battle Triangle but adding a new Mitigation layer to completely shift it the entire other direction.
its a common leftist tactic... create a problem, sell the solution...or campaign on it

I don't want to be able to hit more things. I want to have to hit fewer things. This may allow me to hit bigger, but... I can already handle just about everything I can reach. So, seems like a waste of a month at first glance.
Just what we need, a more convoluted battling system. I still have my doubts about the accuracy of battles.

The new Feature could be nice, I'll really need to see what implementation and game resource costs are.
I have so much research still to do from previous additions. Not to mention the original research that I am just skipping over. I haven't even done hardly any Titan research yet. I do not need or frankly appreciate another whole new tree. How about as a quality of life addition they give us F2P players a way to speed up old research not just bypass old loops. The discovery speed ups are great. The away teams are good, but none of it is nearly enough. Not with new trees and new content for older trees getting added so often.

Not another Research Tree😢. I remember when there were only 3 and I had time to do all research for my level before processing. I think we need some videos showing which research really needs to be done by key ops level.
Curious, they really seem to think that excluding all -40s will make them level up 🤔 Let’s find out who wins that battle 😊

Interesting idea tho the power leap for the high levels compared to the lower ones will be unreal, if they did a separate terrain faction that would be great as they can modify the existing faction ships in game for them, changing there abilities to a more pvp focused point as well with there own space and could even create a mirror material for them as well. But they need to fix the g5 plus bracketing 1st.
So, mirror universe content is the arc theme? I wonder how the Mirror universe will actually work. New Rep (Terran Empire )? New ship? who, but it seem interesting. I'll hold judgement till it releases in game though.

Once again we get an update that makes lower level players at a disadvantage regardless if you are a F2P or a light spender or a whale(don't think many if any). I get it Scoply would like us 39 and below to advance up. Then here is the solution for that, make ships like the ISS Jelly more available to the F2P. That ship and the Monaveen just to name two have stopped me from making the jump to 40+. I mean don't get me wrong the resource limits of 3* uncommon have also played there part. Then lets take the added time of these "new" loops for those who don't have there specialty ship. I can only devote so much time and energy to do things. Freebooters was and is a GREAT addition to game, modifying the Gorn loop a good idea, even though some can't actually get the full usage of the hostile due to OPS lvl, but in the end it's good change to the game. I for one HATE NEW LOOPS with a passion. For example: Xindi-Aquatic hostile loop, only good for ops 40+ (reality 50+) with a, you guessed it, specialty ship and the much needed favors from EX-Borg, which again you don't gain access to unless your ops 40+. And let us not for the wave loop for ops 30+ (more like 50+). Oh but hey if you can get some ops 60+ to carry you in say Bachmann to wave 10 every day or every time you run one then it was a breeze, but if you are an unlucky one and get in with all ops 30 then you might make it past wave 2 and you are most likely not going past wave 3 and sure as hell will never see wave 6.

Looks like a decent stuff for PvE. More damage reduction is more hostiles hit. Or bigger hostiles hit. That's fine.
For PvP it's horrid. If I understand correctly it scales based on your ship hull. So the bigger the ship - the bigger in numbers is this damage reduction. In short - it won't help me punch up. Rather it'll help stomp down on smaller players. So much for trying to make PvP a little bit more fair.
Ofc there will be primes, why not, buy a prime, 2 primes or even 3 to give you barrier.
And an apex barier prime piercing to counter other players barriers (my idea Scopley, I want 5% of the sales!!!!!!!!)
I hope it contains warp buff... I am already able to punch waaay higher than my level, but what's the point if I can't go there?...
Plus we need buff against the gold ones, regular hostiles are not a chellenge anymore with the new SNW crew. Now I am basically immortal and they are only tier 2...

It's amazing how many Mirror Universe ships I've destroyed in the last 25 years. And yet, here come some more.

Sounds painful but hopefully and maybe enjoyable. Like always waiting for the scopely to say but...... and not as good as it seems.
Still on my first coffee, but when I heard it'd widen the gap between high end PvP players and the common yeoman... well it automatically makes me think $$$ PvP and wars are good for scopely's wallet, now and again the rest of the universe are participating in the benefits.
Maybe we're lucky and they'll announce when there's going to be a free path for 400 days of Eviscerator bp grinding....
I flat out refuse to get the eviscerator. I get kills with the ships and crews I already have
So this is the way forward: Once they designed themselves into a corner, with all their primes for damage, mitigation and so on, they invent a new combat stat.
And the game goes on again. Well onwards in deathrow. Because what will happen if the Apex Barrier has run out of juice? Add even more stats to combat? Bloat the core feature of the game more and more so that noone will ubderstand how it works one day?
In 4 years this game has gone from enjoyable to suxs - I see myself dropping it before the end of the year - enjoy it everyone !!
Can them to fix all of the iOS issues? Maybe Apple should pull the game for it being crapware. I think I need to start a campaign.

At least they didn't throw in a new building to upgrade with special parts. Those are so annoying. So the new officers, do they synergy with the old mirror officers? They should just make a ISS faction creds for the them and not rely on indie creds.
I ignore the pvp in this game. Pvp is only for p2w. I'm only interested in pve, so the apex barrier sounds like a good thing. Happy about the upcomming ark.

What do you mean? When a ship is 'assimilated' it's officer abilities see a 25% reduction.
I haven't seen any meaningful content follow up in it. We have good officers which take advantage of the other states or have I missed something where the content since "assimilated" came out where officers build on it

I really hate all this 40+ content I can't get as a 35, but on the other hand all this content can make those lvl 40 more powerful... which is great as they can still hit me. 😒
The Star Trek IP must be hugely expensive so I get that making money is the name of the game for Scopely. I just started not doing stuff and focusing on just a few of the many features available. I skipped the Gorn altogether and will weigh the merits of this new feature to see if it fits in my 2-hour-per-day max in this game. if not, then I will skip it. It would be nice if they would take a month or 2 to clean up some clutter and refine the game, but I also get that there is no money in that. So we should complain less and focus on the good. Because there is a lot of good to be found in STFC.
Finally! The mirror verse is coming to STFC!

Rev: The graphic says "Apex Barrier provides true damage mitigation from all damage... Every 10,000 Apex Barrier INCREASES the damage you can take by 100%." Ummm, increases the damage? Does it mitigate damage or does it increase damage? Why would I invest in Apex Barriers to INCREASE my damage? Does no one read these things? I guess what it means is that I can take 200 damage where I used to take 100 damage, but that's just a stupid phrasing.

This is the first time I am not looking forward to logging onto the game
So I'm sitting at lvl 49. During the last incursions, i was shocked to find that a lvl 70 can hit me, and take me out without even scuffing their paint.
How is this even close to being a fair pvp mechanic? What a joke.
This is just going to make the gap even larger for the whales vs krill.
Another loop to ignore, and just what I wanted more research for little pay out. The game is moving to pay to play. This isn't a triple A title.
As long as the bracket in G5 is not solved: this will become a very frustrating adding to your game. It only increases the frustration. If you always have to compete against G6. With all due respect to G6 players, I have nothing against them. But Scopely made G6 abnormally strong, not like the transition from G4 to G5. G6 is a completely different league. If you are not G6 yourself, you can't do anything against them, everything is a billion times stronger. Why Scopely keeps thinking it's a good idea to put G5 and G6 together, kill me: it's the worst idea ever. With this new barrier, the G6 makes 100 times stronger... it is already impossible to do anything against it in leaderboard, PvP and other bracket events, normal gameplay.. So yeah: it can be good, but it can also be gamekiller
They broke pvp, now they start the fix. My game locks up 1 or 2 times an hour on a 3 year old iPad. Fix the software, scopely!

Briefly increase the gap Rev? It's been getting wider, week by week for at least 8 months. All they do is cater to the whales and completely forget the light spend and f2p, that make up the majority.
Battle logs aren’t for me - I shoot they die - if they don’t I change crew then they die - why is it so over complicated that I need to understand so much just to ‘play a game’?

Game consistently crashes after few moves can't do waves as lag kicks in & incursion is a joke as lag & connections issues kick in... funny this only effects this game none of the other's I play do this
