pineapple flamingo yeah I don’t get the whole ‘the British are so nice and polite’ trope. I’m sure on Big Brother Canada they don’t boo the housemates leaving the house and throw things at them lol
Not sure if they’re crying and more sad about the production ending or that they’re shocked that shit must be really real for them to have to shut the production down and Ontario going into lockdown
I hope it's the latter reason because damn, it's going to be a shock for them when they enter the real world again. At least for us we saw the gradual progress/daily updates of the outbreak while they have to adjust quickly.
I'd imagine that this is one of those psychological situations where it can be a bit of both, but one more than the other. Although it seems on the surface that they're upset by the virus, which to an extent they will be, there are some clues there from what they're saying that they're distraught that any potential future opportunities that may come from BB are now gone. For example it was telling when the sikh man said that his dream had been crushed. Some if not most of them will be more upset about the end of the show and potential opportunities than the virus alone.
wait till they go to a grocery store and you are REQUIRED by law to wash your hands before entering and have to follow arrows taped to the floor and stand at Xs 6 feet apart at the cash registers
@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 man did you people really need an outbreak to properly wash your hands and keep it clean ? Why am I seeing this shit everywhere?
They should be selected to renter as the remaining 6 then introduce intruders at week 7 but select a winner from.thr remain original 8, then continue the show. Not he the first 8, that's unfair
Only 8 players from this year will be eligible to return for season 9 next year alongside the 8 newbies. All of the guys and probably 4 girls (Suzanne, Madeleine, Brooke and Rianne) will be there for a second chance.
This is such a strange perspective to see things from. For the rest of the world this is our reality, the outside world, everything being closed, and people being sick/dying. In there you can't grasp at that, even though you know about it. You're sheltered from everything... that blow must've been such a harsh reality check, letting them know that things are actually as bad as they said, and they're not allowed to continue for health and safety reasons... mostly of the crew behind the screen, seeing as those people in the house itself were probably in a very secure location. Must've been so surreal, leaving and returning home like that...
Definitely and I am sure they are upset because even with what BB had told them they hadn't seen it and were so absorbed in the game by now as BB fans are. To lose that opportunity would be hard. Not as hard as what many are now going through, but they don't have the same perspective we all do.
Must be so weird and surreal for them. I mean it is for everyone but their imagination must be running wild with what’s happing out here in the real world
"IT'S THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!" "No, not really. We're just sitting at home, watching Netflix." "But the towns are deserted..." "Nah, everyone's just inside." "But the stores..." "Still open and still stocked." "So..." "Yeah, nothing distopian yet." "... oh..."
Hopefully they'll give updates on their reactions to the world at home once they're safe. In a way, they should've realized or been aware that things must be really bad in the world for the production to shut down.
Yeah I heard some story about researchers who spent time in the northern islands of the Hawaiian Archipelago for 7 months they left in February and came back later this year and while there they didn’t hear anything from the outside They said they were shocked to return to what to them felt like a new world Edit I’m trying to find links sorry guys
I would have legit thought it was the end of the world. "Oh and BTW, everything is shut down. All of it. Say your final goodbyes to your roommates." biihhhh lol
3:25 "This feels like a dream" It's so weird how they're 2 months behind everyone else. You become so used to your routine but then someone else is just being introduced to the world's new reality.
They thought it wasn’t that serious. I kept following the information of the virus since end of January and still when UK started the lockdown it took me 2 weeks to process it. My friend’s families in hospitals, people running to their home countries, people losing their jobs. It was too much. I was born in Madrid so my heart is broken.
the producers should’ve at least even each house guest 5k for participating in their show. Since nobody can win it would’ve been a great token of appreciation for them to give the houseguests cash.
Not sure how it works in Canada, but in addition to a chance at the prize money, the cast is an actual cast and are given a payment for every week they survive. It’s one of the reasons people are able to leave their jobs for months to participate.
As an American - and an avid watcher of BB since Season 1 in the States, I find this to be the most powerful and heartbreaking moment in any BB Season that 've evr seen. Seeing the shock and tears of thes contestants - its almost a metaphor for what our entire world has been going through for the past 2 years. May we overcome this "once in 100 year" cataclysm, with strength, and determination, and the simple will to live and survive.
The best April Fools joke in this situation would be to tell the housemates that all their COVID-19 updates have been one big hoax all along. Then just before midday tell them all that their news of it all being a hoax was the actual joke and the virus outbreak was real along. April fools!
@x7Kevin it could be the two teams compete in different challenges and one team wins per episode. The winning team has immunity and the losing team has to eliminate one of their members.
I can’t believe Big Brother Canada hasn’t done that yet. I watch Big Brother Philippines and they have crazy twists and edition for each season. Always new all the time. Hopefully Big Brother Canada explores new concept like that.
You can hear the crackle in Erin voice, she tried so hard to keep it in. The emotions and the fear, knowing you were probably safer there, not knowing what was waiting for you or looking at the people you spent time with not knowing if you’ll ever see them again.
Even if it seems like an overreaction to us, I do feel for them. They've been cut off from everyone and everything, only learned of what was going on in the last week, and now they're being unexpectedly returned to a completely changed world. They all must realize how bad things are if this is happening, and they're probably as scared as they are disappointed.
They wanted to be on the game, went through the audition process, were sequestered then throw into a game that is a roller coaster of emotions under the best circumstances, then have it yanked away is something else. I mean yeah if they knew the full extent we do they might be less upset, but even with BB telling them it would be hard to truly process it. Once they get out and truly get what is going on it will seem small to most I am sure that they lost out, at least for now. But can't fault them for reacting that way, when you are in BB that long all you know is BB.
The issue would be the crew, everyone behind production which would have to be ignoring isolation to film a show. Their roles aren't classified as essential so how would they continue to film? And even take care of the cast.
Everything wasn't that bad. Still isn't. What should have happened is everyone should have let the virus run rampunt during the beginning, it would have burned itself out and would have been over. Nope, they tried to do this nonsense of lock downs, masks, vaccines that don't god damn work worth shit. Instead of doing the only logical choice from minute 1. We are suffering now because of it.
They have one last competition to decide the winner of the season, the competition is gathering as much toilet paper rolls as you can and whoever has the most wins the prize money, and gets to keep the toilet paper since they will need it.
Me: lmao why are they crying? Also me: fully sobbed in class 3 weeks ago when we found out we were being sent home for 3 weeks (which became 5 months) for Covid-19
it’s their dream, to some it sounds crazy but these people have watched this show for over 20 years, and have applied hundreds of times for the chance to live out their dream. never in 30+ seasons of bbus/bbcan has a season ever been cut short. it’s unprecedented, heartbreaking, and dream shattering.
It sucks that they cancelled it early. I would've loved to see who won the $100.000, but instead, they gave it away for a good cause, and I'm happy about that part. #StayHome #WithMe
Watching this in August and it truly hits how big this pandemic is. It shut the world down. We’re living history. Wash your hands, wear a mask, stay safe.
I feel that the least they can do is give the same cast the chance to compete for BBCAN9. They shouldn't be taken out and not to get the chance to compete back again
I truly hope, that when everything is over and the show can continue as normal, they bring every member of this cast back to the show. They were robbed of the chance to win because of something completely out of their control, and each and every one of them deserves another chance
I think they are in shock because the ending of the show shows how serious things are outside but I don't know any of these people haha. Just basing reactions off how i would react.
imagine going back into the outside world only to find out there’s no toilet paper and your neighboring now has the most confirmed cases while their economy is going to shit
pretty sure they're LESS worried about the season being cut short...and MORE worried about being forced to leave an actual sanctuary away from infection into a real world pandemic they're not fully informed about... 😱
@@firecrow7973 you're pampered because you have a house and food/water on tap and technology to spend your time on which isn't essential. it's all relative hun so get over it because you're not doing things that are necessary to life just like they aren't, they're having fun and doing what they want to. or you could shit on people who have more than u and look like a saddo x
I meant in the position of a bb superfan. You finally get on the show and then after a pretty bad season with only 1 person getting evicted and the other 3 leave the house in some other way than the season ends. Not that great. Not saying its the end of the world just looking at it from a fan perspective.
@L L Also I am so sorry you are going through that right now when I said what I said I didn't mean for it to come off like that I sincerely hope that you and your family will get better soon.
I don't know why they just didn't keep them in there... They probably can't travel to get home anyways *Edit* Of course the production crew should go home and be with their families, I just meant that they should let the cast continue to stay there.
The province has closed all non-essential workplaces down. This includes the big brother production team. Think of all the workers that needed to be there to support them. It’s more than just what you see on the screen. They are just following the instructions of the government.
Well, it would be unethical to keep them from their families as things get worse, the production crew could possibly be a vector of infection into the house itself, and travel is getting more and more restrictive, which could make it difficult to get them back home the farther along they went.
For the 9th season premiere opening, they should have Erica Cox go up to a button that says reset and press it and she says, "It's time for reset." And then all of the house lights up, and after that they give background about covid-19 and that they had to end the season early, so they came to the conclusion that they should all have a 2nd chance.
They will understand once they leave why they had to. I’m honestly so shocked at how long they kept it going considering there is crew.. of it we’re just them.. obviously they have been isolated but too much crew and behind the scenes.. of one of the cast member caught it then they would l get it and that would be a horrible outcome and honestly probably lead to a legal battle... That being said, their dreams are literally crushed and I know it will have a disruption in the gameplay but they should at lease let them finish the show after this is over even if it’s like an online only version like BBOTT... just let them have a winner... or let them split the money.
I would also be devastated, I mean, they've been living in an all-expenses-paid hotel and sure maybe no internet and you can only stay in one spot but that's what they prepared for going in. Add the protection they've had by being isolated from the rest of the world.
Or maybe winning the prize and being able to continue towards their real dreams. You don’t know. That money could be used to go to school, open a business, or simply pay off debt. Because living debt free would be a dream in itself for most Canadians.
I’m still shocked at what is happening in the world. I cannot imagine how these folks feel. They have only been updated by producers, away from their loved ones. As they leave the house they will see people wearing masks, and empty shelves. They will probably watch hours of UA-cam videos on the subject before they learn to just turn it off. Hope they can have a smooth as they can transition.
i am having my dinner while scrolling with my phone lol and this came up... i teared up while eating lol.... i instantly remember all the terror of what covid did to all of us.... this is such a heart breaking moment for them.... what the host said about the cast being a distraction to what was happening outside was so precious greetings from the Philippines😀
I still don't think they truly grasp it. If they did they obviously would have seen this coming and not be so shaken. But even with BB updating them they are too isolated and to all into the game being their life to truly grasp how much things have changed. When they get out they will be in for another shock but also sure they will realize as upset as they are about this things could have been worse for them.
Yeah. I was like "what a bunch of assholes!" But i didnt know what big brother was and if they really were isolated then they obvioisly don't know countries are quarantined and people are dying. Feel kind of bad for them.
I don't watch BB Canada but I have re-watched this video several times. I can't imagine what it was like for them. To know very little and then hear everything is being shut down must've been terrifying. At first I thought 'why not let them stay where they are safe?' but then I realized they might want to be with their families and especially it wouldn't be safe for the BB staff. I hope this group will get to play again in the future. Also, it was good to see them hugging. It was comforting.
Holly Holy they were safe but the crew it takes one memeber of the crew to get sick and all the crew would be sick cause there in small areas and if the crew get sick they can touch the food and bring it into the house then everyone would get sick
Thank you, that was actually comforting because we all need to be together for our own safety and health. We're lucky to live in a country that's taking this seriously. Stay healthy everyone!
They should have just called each one in to vote for two housemates they want to see win, excluding themself, and whoever got the most votes wins. That way there is a winner and everyone gets a resolution instead of just ending like that. Or just split the prize money amongst each other and they're all winners lol
I think a lot of the money comes from the sponsors bc they get advertised in each episode, but without the show actually airing, the contract isnt being fulfilled so Big Brother wont get that money :(
I’m positive that they will get a chance to come back and compete again, even though they will be tainted by being able to see whatever shadyness everyone else was doing/saying.
Why are so many people hating on them? I’d be crying and upset too if I lost the opportunity to win a ton of $$ and the fact that a pandemic has hit the world and your city is shut down. That must be terrifying news if you didn’t see it coming/know how bad it was already
Millions of people have died from COVID-19. They should be focused on getting back home to their families not winning money on some tv show. You're priorities are a little off. Besides I'm sure they'll be invited back for season 9 (given they all survive the coronavirus).
@@therealbe The person in their original comment brought up the pandemic too. Why do you think these houseguests are getting emotional over just one thing? They are most likely collectively crying about all of this information at once - the game ending, how bad the pandemic has gotten, the health of their families, etc. Furthemore the show will edit things as they please but surely these houseguests were talking about their families as well and what's happening in the world beyond BB. Silly to criticize when you don't know the breadth of their emotions or what was edited out. To add, who knows if they'll be invited back?? It'll likely only be a handful who are invited aside a brand new cast. They can't all be brought back to play together again after they've been exposed to the real world and can watch the episodes back. For many of them their BB Can experience is potentially over for good.
I'm surprise no one in the house thought this might be fake...? It kind of unbelievable that this is really happening in the real world. As far as the show goes they should bring them back after the lock down ends.

Big Brother Brasil: Still going on
👍
pineapple flamingo yeah I don’t get the whole ‘the British are so nice and polite’ trope. I’m sure on Big Brother Canada they don’t boo the housemates leaving the house and throw things at them lol
Yeah the American BB is the same way
Not sure if they’re crying and more sad about the production ending or that they’re shocked that shit must be really real for them to have to shut the production down and Ontario going into lockdown
I hope it's the latter reason because damn, it's going to be a shock for them when they enter the real world again. At least for us we saw the gradual progress/daily updates of the outbreak while they have to adjust quickly.
Both probably
I'd imagine that this is one of those psychological situations where it can be a bit of both, but one more than the other. Although it seems on the surface that they're upset by the virus, which to an extent they will be, there are some clues there from what they're saying that they're distraught that any potential future opportunities that may come from BB are now gone.
For example it was telling when the sikh man said that his dream had been crushed. Some if not most of them will be more upset about the end of the show and potential opportunities than the virus alone.
Coffeeshunter what opportunities do they really get from the show?
@@niri6559 exactly my question

The real problem was that they were going to run out of toilet paper.
They should have given them goodie bags on the way out: Toilet Paper, Masks, hand sanitizer, an AR-15, rice, beans
The most surprising thing about this is that Big Brother is still a thing.
Omg... Yesssss. I can't believe it either

Yea! I haven’t heard of Big Brother in the US since the early 2000s!
They were on their last legs I thought when my mom(she watched it nonstop. She even watched after dark) died. In 2013.
Here in Brazil the Big Brother hit a historic milestone this week with 1.5 billion votes. It's been the biggest reality show for years.
they are going to be shocked just how different the "outside" is when they leave.

remaining housemates should be automatically eligible for big brother 2021.
Edit. 2023 😒
They couldn't because they would watch the show and know who lied and talk shit in their back.
Fuck You : assuming that it is safe to do so... pandemics, historically, have lasted from 2 to 5 years! ☹️☹️☹️
Stay safe, stay sane, be well
there is 2021?
This is such a strange perspective to see things from. For the rest of the world this is our reality, the outside world, everything being closed, and people being sick/dying. In there you can't grasp at that, even though you know about it. You're sheltered from everything... that blow must've been such a harsh reality check, letting them know that things are actually as bad as they said, and they're not allowed to continue for health and safety reasons... mostly of the crew behind the screen, seeing as those people in the house itself were probably in a very secure location. Must've been so surreal, leaving and returning home like that...
Mellchiril true they still don't know the severity of this pandemic
In complete agreement
Definitely and I am sure they are upset because even with what BB had told them they hadn't seen it and were so absorbed in the game by now as BB fans are. To lose that opportunity would be hard. Not as hard as what many are now going through, but they don't have the same perspective we all do.
They're safer in the isolated house
They seen and heard the same as you ..we only know what we're told ..not what we see
Must be so weird and surreal for them.
I mean it is for everyone but their imagination must be running wild with what’s happing out here in the real world
"IT'S THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!"
"No, not really. We're just sitting at home, watching Netflix."
"But the towns are deserted..."
"Nah, everyone's just inside."
"But the stores..."
"Still open and still stocked."
"So..."
"Yeah, nothing distopian yet."
"... oh..."
Real reason is the house can't buy toilet roll
girlsdrinkfeck 😂😂
imagine how traumatizing this must be to have an entire pandemic going on and not even know what's going on cause you are locked out of all media.
To be fair, they did give at least a couple of updates to the cast before this.
Hopefully they'll give updates on their reactions to the world at home once they're safe. In a way, they should've realized or been aware that things must be really bad in the world for the production to shut down.

The entire country is shutting down: oh wow.
We’re ending this season earlier: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!
Most people only care about what effects them
Sparse Seekers Well the first thing kinda affects them too smart ass
If assume it’s more towards global pandemic
They thought it wasn’t that serious. I kept following the information of the virus since end of January and still when UK started the lockdown it took me 2 weeks to process it. My friend’s families in hospitals, people running to their home countries, people losing their jobs. It was too much. I was born in Madrid so my heart is broken.
End it early so they dont have to pay the winner
the producers should’ve at least even each house guest 5k for participating in their show. Since nobody can win it would’ve been a great token of appreciation for them to give the houseguests cash.
Big brother gave the prize money to covid charities.
agreed, they should've filed a lawsuit against the production company.

Big Brother: Housemates, this is just a joke. April Fools!
It was filmed a few weeks back lol but it would had been funny if they did this.
The best April Fools joke in this situation would be to tell the housemates that all their COVID-19 updates have been one big hoax all along. Then just before midday tell them all that their news of it all being a hoax was the actual joke and the virus outbreak was real along.
April fools!
Talk about being thrown under the bus. Thanks bye fend for yourself.
@@chrisocon This would have been filmed last monday night because the shutdown began tuesday march 25th in Ontario.
I wish
I wanna see BBCAN X be an "Unfinished Business" type of season with ALL of these houseguests coming back. It would be nothing short of incredible.
I would call them back to compete in a new season. Like house divided or something like that, them vs a new group of house guests.
That would be an awesome concept and something different.
BB Australia did that & it worked really well.
greg ap that wouldn’t be much better cus they’d need to start from scratch
They act like they werent all going to double cross each other anyway.
You can hear the crackle in Erin voice, she tried so hard to keep it in. The emotions and the fear, knowing you were probably safer there, not knowing what was waiting for you or looking at the people you spent time with not knowing if you’ll ever see them again.
oh come on it's not Dead Set
Even if it seems like an overreaction to us, I do feel for them. They've been cut off from everyone and everything, only learned of what was going on in the last week, and now they're being unexpectedly returned to a completely changed world. They all must realize how bad things are if this is happening, and they're probably as scared as they are disappointed.
Indeed, and they're probably imagining the situation to be even worse than it is.
Yeah. Although they were passed some information i don't think you fully get the magnitude until you are in the world seeing it.
I hope they take precautionary measures. Imagine leaving an isolated house only to contact the virus home.
The last day they should've been given training about how not to touch you face and washing your hands, lol.
They have one last competition to decide the winner of the season, the competition is gathering as much toilet paper rolls as you can and whoever has the most wins the prize money, and gets to keep the toilet paper since they will need it.

they're already all home from the house since last week!
The province has closed all non-essential workplaces down. This includes the big brother production team. Think of all the workers that needed to be there to support them. It’s more than just what you see on the screen. They are just following the instructions of the government.
It’s enjoyable to see these vapid fame whores cry 😆
Well, it would be unethical to keep them from their families as things get worse, the production crew could possibly be a vector of infection into the house itself, and travel is getting more and more restrictive, which could make it difficult to get them back home the farther along they went.
Rewatching this is crazy. Even tho it was only 3 years ago it feels like a lifetime ago 😭 that was like a whole different world
Unrelated to covid-19, I like the themed rooms they have in the house.
Yeah me too
For the 9th season premiere opening, they should have Erica Cox go up to a button that says reset and press it and she says, "It's time for reset." And then all of the house lights up, and after that they give background about covid-19 and that they had to end the season early, so they came to the conclusion that they should all have a 2nd chance.

John Mateer Weird how long it took them to stop the show. I thought that it was an old video that was uploaded yesterday. But it’s recent.
Omg such a throwback. I remember when we thought COVID was literally like the end of the world
I would also be devastated, I mean, they've been living in an all-expenses-paid hotel and sure maybe no internet and you can only stay in one spot but that's what they prepared for going in. Add the protection they've had by being isolated from the rest of the world.
I hope that when everything has settled, whenever that is, these house guests are brought back for a second chance.
Crazy to watch this 3 years later and realize this was so long ago.

Can you have only one dream?
Or maybe winning the prize and being able to continue towards their real dreams. You don’t know. That money could be used to go to school, open a business, or simply pay off debt. Because living debt free would be a dream in itself for most Canadians.
I’m still shocked at what is happening in the world. I cannot imagine how these folks feel. They have only been updated by producers, away from their loved ones. As they leave the house they will see people wearing masks, and empty shelves. They will probably watch hours of UA-cam videos on the subject before they learn to just turn it off.
Hope they can have a smooth as they can transition.

Most exicting time , now the pandemic is over its just boring
Obviously they are devastated but I wonder how they feel now that they are informed of just how bad the virus outbreak has been
I still don't think they truly grasp it.
Don't know why I keep coming back to watch this... Getting the news is chilling.
Plus the dramatic sound effects.. Feels like a horror movie..
To add to that, filming studios aren't essential businesses. I don't think they could convince the government otherwise.
Maybe they should return to big brother house after the crisis

To someone who hasn’t been exposed to the constant updates about the virus, this would sound like an apocalypse.
For many of them their BB Can experience is potentially over for good.
