I used 4-Gauge (4 AWG) x 15” long battery inverter cables with 3/8” ring terminals on both ends. The 15” is no longer available on amazon, so either a 12” or 18” will work. 24” is too long. 4-gauge (4 AWG) x 12” long battery inverter cables with 3/8” ring terminals on both ends: amzn.to/3Kovah8 - This is for a 2-pack. 4-gauge (4 AWG) x 18” long battery inverter cables with 3/8” ring terminals on both ends: amzn.to/3wZJaLf
Very helpful. Just bought a 2019 Pilot and our daughter's 03 Explorer had a dead battery so when we went to jump start her with traditional cables we noticed we did not have easy access to my battery! Thankfully I had one of those battery booster packs in my vehicle (had never used it) so we got her started that way. It made me question though what I would do if I had the dead battery and was stranded somewhere.
Great tip on the battery terminal extension. Those Noco booster packs are handy to have. I once had a dead battery and discovered the awkward placement of the battery on these vehicles. It's not overly hard to remove those covers but still a pain nonetheless.
Thax for the video, very helpful! Just Curious though, why did you detach the negative terminal? Couldn't you just add the extension without doing this?
A Question: After you disconnected the battery for a while during installation, did you encounter any problems with getting the radio to operate after reconnecting power?

Done the job today on my 2019 Passport. Thank you Paul!
You’re welcome!
Thanks for sharing the video- very helpful to resolve future battery issues
You’re welcome

Thanks Paul- I ordered the charging cable today! Great suggestion. Thanks

You can have sparks if you don’t. You don’t want to work on the battery with power flowing through the cables.
Makes sense Thanks for the quick response! I have the part and I'm going to install it

No, I did not.
Great video very well explained. But what is the length of the cable that you installed.
Thank you

Easy money. Thank you!

Hi, did you ridgeline come with the black shroud below the hood? or did you black out the chrome?
I changed it. Check this out: Honda Ridgeline - Change Grill Garnish from Chrome to Black

@@PaulNaylor3 Thank You, I will check it out!
Thank you so much 🎉
You’re welcome!
Can you not just connect the negative booster cable to an engine ground point?
Probably but this cable extension would be helpful if you were using your good battery to jump start a bad battery.
What year is this? It would be nice to tell us.
2021 Ridgeline.
This is one reason I bought a CR-V and not a Pilot.
Thank you for watching. Here is a link to my CR-V videos: ua-cam.com/play/PL0pAqdmfaJaIsZr8xUNNvONksOC8Bc-ll.html&si=hZbxklEmozjyoq3V
