I remember in the 80s joyriding was anything but a joy to most people. Cars were far too easy to steal, manufacturers simply hadnt thought about vehicle security. Your house key would open some cars ! The introduction of hot hatches such as the Fiesta XR2, MG Maestro and Nova GTE etc certainly added to the problem.
