But the security firm had a fellow friend and MP of Daniel Andrews (this MP was one of the board members of this security firm) to win this contract in a tender. This very same security firm had people that was not qualified for security work and also had security guards that was sleeping with the women, allowing the people to come and go during their stay and even allowed visitors in to visit the people. But the worst thing of all, because of this Covid was released to the general public and thousands of people died. The worst cases was old folks in retirement villages and care facilities had died.

To be fair, the "we" who has power to sell in the first place are the business owners and or shareholders. I don't think anyone in their right mind will sell their own home especially not where multiple generations have lived, are currently living, and hope to continue living. The motivation to leave is internal, betrayal from within, from politicians but also marital disagreements and conflicts with children that causes the children to abandon their parents, the husband to leave for another country, etc. Having friends in agricultural banking they see profligate spending by farm owners, unchecked greed, annual luxury vacations, luxury cars, expensive private schooling, wives with shopping addiction, pretending there is no consequence for irresponsible financial decisions, deluded as if money grew on trees (next season's bumper crop), living like it is still the 1980s. The generation from the 60s and 80s have been on a power trip, their ego, bigotry, and godlessness has affected every industry. Even when the banker and accountant advises them as a close friend they refuse to listen. To point the finger "foreign interests" is hypocritical deflection and simply untrue. Try to look at it the other way, foreign interests are in fact bailing out long-term dysfunctional and bankrupt Australian businesses and breathing new life into communities that otherwise would already be ghost towns. Who else would buy them is the question. Another local Australian? Obviously no one else can afford to, and that is the problem. No one else but "foreign interests" can help, and that is what opens the door to evil. The failure happens from within and rot happens from the top down with the British Empire collapsing and the UK going broke after WW2 (and indebted to the US and associated banking cartels), plus the rise of the military industrial complex. Australia being a small colony of nobodies and mostly former convicts in the middle of nowhere once joining the world stage doesn't stand a chance.

Chris, you forgot Australia's Mandarin speaking ex-Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd. He was ultra cosy with China. Also, as an Aussie, I'd like to let you know that all of those politicians would have retired on a lifetime pension, regardless of whether they worked or not afterwards. A guy like me who worked all my life and paid taxes until I was 60 years old was denied an age pension for very vague reasons. Go figure!
What is the relevance of anti-Mandarin vitriol here? While I think Mandarin is a repulsive dialect after the British invaded and colonised Hong Kong all British officers were bi-lingual, with their children along with all Hong Kong citizens being educated in both Cantonese and English. British, French, Portuguese, German, Russian, and Danish, were clamouring to live in China which invented much of the stuff the world now takes for granted: paper, printing press, gunpowder, silk, even "ketchup" is a Cantonese word. This is how the world works, otherwise many Brits would still be speaking Welsh, Celtic, Pictish, Gaelic, French, German, or a Norse dialect! Likewise the Australian education system teaches French, German, and Japanese after involvement in WW2, and that has come to include Indonesian, Chinese, and other languages as our cultures and economies co-exist. Does that mean that every student who excels at such languages is to be treated with suspicion of espionage and judged? Nonsense. And do you really expect for any respectable nation to send a foreign diplomat to arrive overseas shamefully not knowing how to speak a word of the language of the nation they are brokering a trade deal with? Yes, I'm aware of all the things that China invented in the past, and which have been beneficial for the whole world. Please note that none of them were invented by the CCP. I actually live these days in Mindanao Philippines, have married a Filipina grandmother in Australia in 2017, and am immersed in the culture and language of the people here. I don't hate the Chinese people. I do, however, hate the CCP, and all their ideology espouses. The Philippines is harassed regularly by the PLA Navy and Maritime Militia and Coast Guard, within the waters of the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone, as agreed under UNCLOS. This has been going on for decades. I really think the Chinese Government should be focused on the needs of its people, instead of rattling their sceptres all the time. I don't know if a few consultancy jobs for Australians came out of it, either way a better deal for us than Abbott's free trade deal that included the option for businesses to seek Chinese citizens to import before hiring Australians.

Also, Australia wants to remain a great place for foreign investment. Cutting the export of resources might not go down well with international shareholders in companies like BHP and Rio Tinto.

Turnbull had already federally put us under Belt and Road, Andrews just signed a construction company access agreement. A couple of our guys might have gotten consultancy jobs out of it on a bridge here and there.
Andrew's deal was far better for us than Abbott's free trade deal that let businesses hire directly from China without checking qualifications rather than seeking Australian employees first.

@czarkusa2018 turnbull government signed a memorandum of understanding, which lays out the specifics in a future binding contract. The memorandum of understanding is as far as it got, the agreement itself was Australia would partner with china to build infrastructure in 3rd world countries.

It truly is. The paradox is that as long as voters and politicians have stakes in some property the system is categorically nonpartisan and corrupted by bias and self-interest. Australian parliament hardly serves the monarch, hardly serves subjects of the crown, the Australian population, or anyone really outside of Canberra/ACT apart from those with business/political ties to MPs. Furthermore, their political strategies are predatory on certain groups within the population they should be serving, e.g. targeting university students, pensioners, business owners. The kleptocracy and cronyism seems to be never ending.
The worst part is this could even be an Australian Politician who never showed any special interest in China before. We don't know, and it's likely we may never know if they're big enough that colluding with the CCP could harm Australia's image.
And how do we know there was just one?
