Thanks for doing this. These sure did a lot more damage than I was expecting. Another exciting video! Since you have high END wouldn't Blue Dancer also work here instead of SoA? Also were the fan daggers there to activate the effects of the consecutive hit buffs?
blue dancer doesnt work based off %equip load, it works off total equip load. its complicated. basically, having 99 end will obviously let you be “light loaded” even with lots of stuff equipped, but blue dancer doesnt activate if you are light loaded. you have to be under a certain carry weight, im unsure of the exact numbers. but yeah basically your endurance doesnt matter and doesnt change the range at which you can use blue dancer, because it works by being below certain weight margins. just checked the wiki, and if the information there is correct, the buff starts at 30 carry weight, and gets stronger as you decrease carry weight, where it maxes out at 15% extra damage. but yea its dependent on total weight being carried, not % carry weight, so leveling endurance has no affect. i learned that the hard way lol, i used to run around with max END and blue dancer until i was damage testing and realized it made no difference even though i was light rolling.
Personally I find it more enjoyable for pvp at lower levels. Mainly being the damage really starts to fall off unless you use literally everything that buffs consecutive attacks. It was still a fun weapon to use though, super lightweight as well. Not much endurence required when using them with good heavy armor. It only weighs 3.0. That being said, you can get more damage using other straight swords and buffing them with holy or lightning. But at the cost of more weight. Pros and cons, weigh the options for yourself.
I got them cheesing the tutorial boss at the start of the game, if you start samurai you can jump up a tree behind where the boss land on the right side and just shoot it with arrows. Will take a few tries to get in the tree without dying though.
wouldn't regular straight swords with lightning affinity result in higher damage return (maybe with jumping dmg talisman)? considering you rarely hit the full R2 combo and the fact that almost every endgame boss have a huge saint dmg resists (asking for myself, the vid is great)
i mean, idk there are a lot of straightswords and im not willing to test every single one, but i did test two +25 lordsworns straightswords and the ornamental SS outdamaged them, 8k damage a combo vs 10k 3,5k jumping attack damage (4 hits) vs 2.5k. the test was done vs the troll outside of godricks fog wall. for the straightswords i used a lightning affinity, golden vow, howl of shabriri, jump talisman, physick tears were thorny(consecutive hit buff) and lightning shrouding(20% lightning dmg) for the ornamental SS i used the same but with holy shrouding tear and bloodboil aromatic instead of howl of shabriri. a misconception about the ornamental SS is that its a holy weapon when its actually purely physical, but the AOW gives it flat holy damage, and people go to it for the unique combo. you dont have to get the full combo off, tap R2's are fine, and i believe its jumping attacks are also unique. so this weapon will not perform bad vs any end game boss because its holy damage is insignificant. oh and lastly the *TALISMANS* used were red feathered branchsword, millicent's prosthesis, and rotten winged insignia.
@@blackhaze_gaming i see. Did some tests too, but without any saint dmg buffs, mostly consecutive hits talismans and felt like regular straight sword with lightning outdamage ornamentals in terms of r1 combo. But will take a look again, thx
Been meaning to ask is there a particular reason you use bloodboil aromatic on most fights but shabiri's howl on some? That Fire Giant was insane to second phase in a single combo basically 😮😮 Also was thinking "wait you really can't kill Mohg fast enough with those to avoid Nihil" but then saw yeah you could but... 😂
im just lazy and dont feel like refilling on bloodboil aromatic sometimes, so i use howl in its stead sometimes, but generally youd wanna use BB aromatic for stuff that is purely physical damage as BB aromatics dont buff elemental damage, where as howl of shabriri does buff elemental damage and would be better for that than BB aromatic for a non purely physical damage dealing weapon. i may have random howl uses just to justify keeping it in the loadout at the start of the video because laziness. "That Fire Giant was insane to second phase in a single combo basically" yeah i was impressed by the damage, they fit my playstyle well since i love taking advantage of consecutive damage talismans.
You don't really use holy damage. This weapon deals mostly physical and you want to use the AoW to get the unique moveset, the holy damage is just a nice bonus
Letting Mohg live to get to his 2nd phase was some serious "Standing on Business" vibes, my dude. haha
💀💀
17:28 poor rolling giant xD
Bro wtf happened I’ve never seen that
really unique set of fire giant animations/interactions at 17:30ish

I'm in love with Godrick disrespecting xdd
insane, good shit. is the ornamental sword worth it?

Amazing !
Good job. Can you do a video with the executioners greataxe
Yes I can

What stats do you have?
You really disrespecting these bosses 💀
fun weapon but holy dmg suck
Only in the endgame

The holy damage is only noticeable against very physical resistant enemies. And those are usually not resistant to holy so it works quite well.
Holy damage really isn't that bad
