      @Hugh Jones very wrong he's voiced in madagascar & many other hollywood films but it doesn't have too be made in hollywood, any film made in usa is a hollywood film. plus he defamed himself by making a child perverted joke "she has a asshole of a 7 year old" that's just very suspicious for him as a comedian & other things like showing his penis off in multiple films has truly defamed him plus that shit shouldn't be in theaters i saw bruno in the theater then walked out after the penis dance. the ones who defamed him have damn good reasons because he really is just a fucking creepy mutherfucker he goes back & forth from making borat then back to voice acting in a kids movie then bruno then another kids movie just very creepy patterns along with showing off his penis multiple times.

    • @ReVoltaire
      @ReVoltaire 5 років тому +14

      @@lifecamerakaran Pierre Desproges is the author of many memorable quotes, in particular "you can laugh at everything, but not with anyone". Although Pierre Desproges never actually wrote it in his texts, he did confirm that "I do think that we can laugh at everything, but not necessarily with everyone.".[1]
      The quote comes initially from an “indictment” that Desproges pronounced as "Prosecutor of the French Republic" against far-right Jean-Marie Le Pen on 28th September 1982 at Tribunal des flagrants délires on France Inter radio. In the first part of his speech, Desproges declares: “Two questions haunt me. First, can we laugh at everything? Secondly, can we laugh with anyone?”. His answer to the first question is “yes, undoubtly”. He adds that not only we “can” laugh at everything but that we “must” laugh at everything to “desacralize our stupidity, exorcise our true sorrows and beat our mortal anxieties". To second question, he answers “it's difficult”, in the sense that he, Pierre Desproges, does not want to laugh with anyone, especially the guest of that day, Jean-Marie Le Pen. Pierre Desproges later adds that laughing with “a practicing Stalinist”, a “hysterical terrorist” or “far-right activist” is beyond his abilities.

      A genius? A genius character comedian would create 3-dimensional characters, and then create other characters to play off his characters, and put them in creative fictional situations that comment on our society, culture, politics, etc. He creates 1-dimensional (at best) characters and then takes advantage of unsuspecting people or barges into events or situations and disrupts them. And for some reason a fair number of humor-challenged people think this is "funny". It's the creative equivalent of making prank phone calls. It's pathetic...

    • @emilygilbeyful
      @emilygilbeyful 6 років тому +16

      Steven Tebou you may not personally like it, but he changed my life! I began watching him in the late 90s when he had a slot on a channel 4 program. I was 14 and Ali G and borat were both around mainly as interviewers, then he launched the Ali G show and you can't tell me that his comedy and characters were not an exceptional commentary on political and social issues in the country at the time! He single handedly taught a teenage me to question the rigid political bigoted landscape of the time and his use of satire and irony as a way of mocking and exposing people of power and influence was incredible! The characters themselves particularly Ali G who was also a genius satire on a type of ignorant person who was all to common at the time. I grew up close to where the caracter was from and it wasn't 1 dimensional, there was location, backstory and other characters! and it was close to the truth. His fearlessness in the face of abhorrent people taught me to stick up for what's right and the best win is not one where you end up agreeing, it is one where you make the opponent look stupid or embarrassed! Also the borat book is the funniest and cleverest thing I've ever read!

    • @suchanhachan
      @suchanhachan 6 років тому +6

      Emily Gilbey I apologize if my opinion came across as too harsh. I certainly didn't mean to criticize your opinion of him. As an American I've never seen his Ali G character. And I've lived here in Japan for a long time and here he's mainly known for the Borat movie and a little bit of his stuff after that, so that's mainly what I've seen. I just remember the whole Borat thing really rubbing me the wrong way, but again maybe that's because I'm an American. I remember feeling he was mocking and taking advantage of many people in the movie and building his career off that. But I'm sure he's done much more than that. I appreciate you telling me about your personal experience with him. You've made me curious to find out about his other work. Thank you! :-)

I would love to see some random guy filming were you live in and say stupid and fake stuff about you and your village and then calling it a country that is nowhere near what is even depicted, and the place you live in being known worldwide for that fake info... That certainly would be fun, wouldn't it... I think that people behind Borat who fooled the innocent Romani villagers should be arrested... Of course that every other character that I know also depicts a stupid reality that is 100% fake...

      I read up on wheelchair litigation case - she reckons that after a confrontation where bruno took the mic off her at a bingo hall that she went backstage, cried then went to stand up, collapsed and hit her head on the concrete. Also worth noting that she was only sueing for $25,000 dollars which seems pretty low for brain damage.

    Cohen deals with (offensive) truths through humor. People don't like truth if it puts them in a bad light. People often would rather live a lie than face truth. Humor is the only way some taboo subjects can be presented. Otherwise people shut down or run. Apparently, they even run from humor. Sasha, thanks for having the guts to take on the American "war of terror" at a Texas high school football game. Respek.

    • @timbrown57

      You're right. Think about it - NONE of Mel Brooks movies could be made today, and they completely take a stab at every sacred cow out there. None of Richard Pryor's movies could be made today, foe the same reason. In fact the two of them wrote Blazing Saddles together.... it wouldn't be released today. Most of Quentin Tarantino's movies wouldn't be released today.
      The overly sensitive and PC Millennial generation has gone overboard pushing their agenda, and they all seem to have this false sense of morality. (and I have friends and close family members who fall into this category.)
