@@lifecamerakaran Pierre Desproges is the author of many memorable quotes, in particular "you can laugh at everything, but not with anyone". Although Pierre Desproges never actually wrote it in his texts, he did confirm that "I do think that we can laugh at everything, but not necessarily with everyone.".[1] The quote comes initially from an “indictment” that Desproges pronounced as "Prosecutor of the French Republic" against far-right Jean-Marie Le Pen on 28th September 1982 at Tribunal des flagrants délires on France Inter radio. In the first part of his speech, Desproges declares: “Two questions haunt me. First, can we laugh at everything? Secondly, can we laugh with anyone?”. His answer to the first question is “yes, undoubtly”. He adds that not only we “can” laugh at everything but that we “must” laugh at everything to “desacralize our stupidity, exorcise our true sorrows and beat our mortal anxieties". To second question, he answers “it's difficult”, in the sense that he, Pierre Desproges, does not want to laugh with anyone, especially the guest of that day, Jean-Marie Le Pen. Pierre Desproges later adds that laughing with “a practicing Stalinist”, a “hysterical terrorist” or “far-right activist” is beyond his abilities.

Exactly my thought as well. Pretty sure if he wrote a new script based on one of his characters (or even a new one), and went to one of the directors/producers he has worked with before, he/she would be very good in convincing a film studio company, to put this project into action.

He talked about the state of the script as he signed on to do it, can't remember where. But he said that the idea for the biopic was for Freddie to die half way through... And have the rest of the film about Brian May and the band just carrying on... Man alive!!!
But Rami Malek is a serious actor, and if this movie plans to talk about his sexuality, relationships, and AIDS, I would prefer an actor who could easily portray serious emotions and be respectful in interviews as well.
Right? His best known films/character are his creations. He's been in some small parts (Sweeney Todd, Hugo, and some others) but it's only been a year and a half since The Brothers Grimsby. And remember, he WAS going to play Freddie Mercury, but backed out of his own accord due to differences with the band.

That's easy to say. Imagine you have been working your ass off to make that fashion show go smooth as possible, and suddenly some actor turns up and ruins it because he thinks what he's envisioned is worth more than your hard work and goal.
exactly the fashion people might take it seriously, im not saying seriously is bad, it could be used as a positive though because it got the fashion show more publicity, plus it made the people there never forget that show for sure. i think life is too short to be too negative and cross about things.
Sacha had his time. Comedy's moved on and although he'd still be funny with some characters with modernised adaptations, political correctness is far too aware and restrictive to remotely offensive things let alone him. It's not really him that's past it, just the comedy itself can't be nearly as replicated or enhanced.
He is so talented and so famous now that he can make movies on his own without working in Hollywood. And anybody who is offended by this actor, should not watch it...
i understand the view that PS was the one and only, but SC, whose politics to me are kind of smelly, is a comic genius, a brilliant absurdist, who could take the concept in new directions. its a very exciting idea.
Steve Martin is awesome too as Clouseau, the more people give hommage to most awesom Peter Sellers the better. Would be fantastic if Sascha could make that too.
Dr170 Thats cause you dont know shit to begin with about the characters, for example Borat was filmed in Romania and they were all fooled and he is utterly hated in the Romani village it was filmed in, it's a completely fake Romania that he called Kazakhstan (that also ain't true at all)... I would love to see some random guy filming were you live in and say stupid and fake stuff about you and your village and then calling it a country that is nowhere near what is even depicted, and the place you live in being known worldwide for that fake info... That certainly would be fun, wouldn't it... I think that people behind Borat who fooled the innocent Romani villagers should be arrested... Of course that every other character that I know also depicts a stupid reality that is 100% fake...
I read up on wheelchair litigation case - she reckons that after a confrontation where bruno took the mic off her at a bingo hall that she went backstage, cried then went to stand up, collapsed and hit her head on the concrete. Also worth noting that she was only sueing for $25,000 dollars which seems pretty low for brain damage.
Devon Montoya Bullshit. Comedy is far from dead. True comics will not and have not conformed. His last big movie flopped because no one wanted to pay to go see it lol.
Cohen deals with (offensive) truths through humor. People don't like truth if it puts them in a bad light. People often would rather live a lie than face truth. Humor is the only way some taboo subjects can be presented. Otherwise people shut down or run. Apparently, they even run from humor. Sasha, thanks for having the guts to take on the American "war of terror" at a Texas high school football game. Respek.
He would have been great if he could have reigned himself in and played it straight, but there is no way he could have managed that, so it's a good thing it all fell through.
The stupid band wanted the movie made about them , after 15 mins into the film Freddie dies , so he would have been only in it for 15 minutes . Assholes need to go away
I'm from Kasachstan, how can I get offended by anyone anymore? But maybe my child, which I got from one of my brothers, still not sure which one, as meanwhile, we look all the same in our family. Great suckcess, nah?
I hate that we're living in the generation that's overly sensitive about these kind of things I like his movies because they're f****** absurd and weirdly funny which is my kind of humor they're f****** extreme but I really hated that this generation is just too sensitive truly Humanity has lost its humor
You're right. Think about it - NONE of Mel Brooks movies could be made today, and they completely take a stab at every sacred cow out there. None of Richard Pryor's movies could be made today, foe the same reason. In fact the two of them wrote Blazing Saddles together.... it wouldn't be released today. Most of Quentin Tarantino's movies wouldn't be released today. The overly sensitive and PC Millennial generation has gone overboard pushing their agenda, and they all seem to have this false sense of morality. (and I have friends and close family members who fall into this category.)
Only people that are being offended by the jokes that he makes, are those that have too much free time to whine about things like that, also known as scrubs
donot disconnect not in this context, looper uses the term "Hollywood" to refer to the film & TV industry in general, Netflix is a part of that industry and is arguably one of the most influential studios around at the moment!

Apart from being a comedian he's a legit actor.
I liked his humour. I mean it def was over the top and not for everyone, but Borat and other films exposed hilarity hiding in the open
Just the NAME of that Borat film makes me laugh to this day.
There is literally Borat 2 coming out in 1 week...
This video was made two years ago dummy
@@beezer0382 I think the ppl tht made this video are the dummies
Why Hollywood won't cast him anymore: because he's awesome!
because hes not a liberal. u wont make it far in any industry these days without being a liberal nut job.

Its bollox anyway, he has always wrote and directed his own stuff for his own production company, he never needed Hollywood for anything.
Who Is America proved this whole video wrong, haha.
This video has not aged well
and now 'the spy' on netflix
it was wrong to begin with, Sacha casts himself
Well he acted this year in the “Spy” series for Netflix as the main protagonist
Gonna watch it!
@@monstersmashersclan2899 based on a true story. Loved it
no wonder he looked familiar
It was amazing so was the Chicago 7
Trail of the Chicago 7 🔥
Sacha Baron Cohen is hands down one of the G.O.A.T of comedy.
Sacha is one of my favorite actors, he’s a legend, and a genius
if you dont take life seriously he becomes funny.
That's easy to say. Imagine you have been working your ass off to make that fashion show go smooth as possible, and suddenly some actor turns up and ruins it because he thinks what he's envisioned is worth more than your hard work and goal.
Kncperseus yeah sounds pretty hilarious
exactly the fashion people might take it seriously, im not saying seriously is bad, it could be used as a positive though because it got the fashion show more publicity, plus it made the people there never forget that show for sure. i think life is too short to be too negative and cross about things.
Sacha had his time. Comedy's moved on and although he'd still be funny with some characters with modernised adaptations, political correctness is far too aware and restrictive to remotely offensive things let alone him. It's not really him that's past it, just the comedy itself can't be nearly as replicated or enhanced.
That statement can go both ways.
They fear his gypsy tears
Hollywood has never cast Sacha Baron Cohen you fools. His work has always been indie
Just a cohencidence.
Sweeney Todd?
20th century fox is a myth
this guy is the funniest character to me
agree
Offensive humor is the best kind of humor in my opinion. It's such a shame he's "gone"...
It's the only kind!!!
Who is America is his new show. Hilarious
It's a danger when they just say offensive shit and people just get offended and it's not even funny, then it's just pointless
he is not gone.
who is america is his new show
He is so talented and so famous now that he can make movies on his own without working in Hollywood. And anybody who is offended by this actor, should not watch it...
You should make a video about: why Hollywood sucks
^^^THIS!!!^^^
*ing agree with this
Sasha would be perfect as inspector Clouseau
agreed , ten times better than Steve Martin...(cringe)
Yes!! Hahaha very well spotted! Let him take that role on, and give ud more legendary Pink Panther movies 😂
Thank you, Pagan Cloak!
Peter Sellers was THE one and only Inspector Clouseau and Cohen playing that part would only fuck up Sellers legacy!
i understand the view that PS was the one and only, but SC, whose politics to me are kind of smelly, is a comic genius, a brilliant absurdist, who could take the concept in new directions. its a very exciting idea.
Steve Martin is awesome too as Clouseau, the more people give hommage to most awesom Peter Sellers the better. Would be fantastic if Sascha could make that too.
Hey Looper, answer this: WHO IS AMERICA ?
Nice one....
erelRa, *THIS IS AMERICA!*
2 years later borat 2 guess who’s back and he’s not alone
Most people just did not get it
He is a super comic....one of a kind
on a totally different level
Many people have bad sense of humor and doesn't get many jokes, so they get offended instead.
In a society where everyone easily gets triggered like an abandoned land mine. Cohen can't portray Borat again
Borat is nothing like actual people from Kazakhstan. People from Kazakhstan look Chinese, speak Russian and practice Islam.
Rami malek was a decent Freddie Mercury... but everyone and Brian May knew that Sacha would have been an excellent one
Sasha would definitely have looked more like the handsome, dashing Freddie than Rami Malek ever could! Very easy to see!!!
Who else is watching this after the Borat came out
Because Hollywood never casted Cohen to begin with
Kim Jong Trump he has a few Hollywood movies
You looks like an offspring of Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.
Cohen is too legit for the gutless and gutted generic franchise-superhero-remake factory Hollywood has become over the course of the decade.
Dr170 No he ain't, his characters are all stupid and fake, and you can't deny it...
I am denying it and so is your mother. HIGH FIVE!
He's too legit to quit!
I guess you don't watch MS or the BBC ?
That Grimsby movie was fire
Yeah fr, shit was hilarious
Agree
That elephant scene killed me
Definitely
I read up on wheelchair litigation case - she reckons that after a confrontation where bruno took the mic off her at a bingo hall that she went backstage, cried then went to stand up, collapsed and hit her head on the concrete. Also worth noting that she was only sueing for $25,000 dollars which seems pretty low for brain damage.
He is a legendary actor! I don't care what they say about him. His movies are truly unique and can't wait for home to make more!
The truth is Sacha Baron cannot continue because true comedy is dead. :*(
more like his comedy is dead
Devon Montoya Bullshit. Comedy is far from dead. True comics will not and have not conformed. His last big movie flopped because no one wanted to pay to go see it lol.
Kladstone Comedy has never been bigger lol.
Kladstone Well then you are missing out on alot of great comedy and i feel sorry for you.
Kladstone You are contradicting yourself lol. Comedy is everywhere man open your eyes.
Respek.
You summed him up well. He does expose issues in society and is a true artist.
Jp
I love him, he is such a great actor. So talented.
@831 blacksheep yes
Sacha's a tremendous talent and I hope he keeps doing whatever he wants.
Ha like he gives a shit. He's better doing his own stuff the man's a legend.
Meanwhile, his greatest work "Who is America?" is coming out now. Please retract this video.
Hollywood is still pussified. This video still stands. And western society in general, people can't take a joke today
Word
My personal favorite is still the Dictator.
How ironic... uploaded in April, while the new series gets uploaded in July.
Sacha Baron Cohen Doesn't need Hollywood to make films
The Brothers Grimsby was such a good movie, I wish people appreciated it
i had a good laugh watchin it especially the elephant scene haha
I loved that movie
and how about not?
saša ok?
ArthurUTB I was in tears watching that movie.
SBC would have been a great Freddie Mercury.
Philth- E I
He would have been great if he could have reigned himself in and played it straight, but there is no way he could have managed that, so it's a good thing it all fell through.
The stupid band wanted the movie made about them , after 15 mins into the film Freddie dies , so he would have been only in it for 15 minutes . Assholes need to go away
Philth- E good one 😂
Yep. Accurate.
Everyone gets offended by everything now. Context people, context
agreed.
It is sloely swinging back again in the other direction though.
So so, "everyone". So you are one of them. Congratulations, "Great Success!"
Nii P. Did you just get offended by that post?
I'm from Kasachstan, how can I get offended by anyone anymore? But maybe my child, which I got from one of my brothers, still not sure which one, as meanwhile, we look all the same in our family. Great suckcess, nah?
Sacha is best at shock humor and public pranks. No one can out-shock him.
I thought his newest character was Milo Yiannopoulos
Howyounotknow great call!
Howyounotknow lmao
Nah Milo is so Gay that Bruno seems like a straight man.
YOU , ARE , A , GENIUS!
Haha this is good
And....he’s back!
is he?
@@whereishere8095 who is america

Me who has already watched The Trial Of The Chicago 7:

Everyone is just too sensitive nowadays....
Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners - George Carlin
I agree. The sensitive ones are often the fascists, racists and sexists with all their prejudice and stereotypes.
... until you are made fun of.
He's definitely one of the best around at this time
Only people that are being offended by the jokes that he makes, are those that have too much free time to whine about things like that, also known as scrubs
Nah these so called egotistical people who power hate him not the average people
Reporter: The humour of Cohens films came from fooling unsuspecting people which is almost impossible these days

Wrong! I did some research and he currently has two movies in post production right now and is starring in a new Netflix series called "The Spy".
Mike Patton where can I find this info?
from imdb
Netflix and Hollywood are two different things...
donot disconnect
Perhaps, but the paycheck is better.
donot disconnect not in this context, looper uses the term "Hollywood" to refer to the film & TV industry in general, Netflix is a part of that industry and is arguably one of the most influential studios around at the moment!
all his character's are absolutely hilarious, his work is amazing and he's a great actor. I get that his humor is offensive and some people don't like it, but they need to understand that some people just need to get it that he's funny to some people--including myself.
You know the fear of offending someone, it's so strong, with this guy it's nowhere to be found Got some big cojones this MAAN
Baron Cohen is a phenomenal actor. Not just over the top or offensive characters that push the limits of decency. His roles as Eli Cohen and Abbie Hoffman were brilliant.
*"Studios would rather make a profit than take a risk."*
now this is the DAMN true thing.
Sasha baron cohen + johnny knoxville
Jasper Asten seriously! Wth happened to Knoxville? Where did he go???
He made recently a film, Action Point
Knoxville got his life back on track, Steveo as well.
Knoxville is taking it more easy, imagine the injuries he got during Jackass
Borat and Bad Grandpa road trip movie !
this shit Sacha Baron Cohen did in Arizona was one of the most funniest things I saw in my life :D
