Yes - DW is so expensive. Chuck Levins in Wheaton, MD has the best discounted prices. I bought the single MDD first and used it for 8 months. After missing my double bass action, I then bought the double. These pedals are unrivaled. What an amazing experience. I do need to sell the single MDD - but the double MDD is now my go-to as the fastest, lightest, easiest, quietest....and most expensive single part of my DW kit. But man it sounds and looks so sweet. Folks - when you buy a Ferrari - you don't complain about the price.
DW is supposed to be custom made drums for the professional The DW finishes do not rival the Tama revolution in the 80s or the Pearl MLX or BLX drums from the 90s. DW Era was in the 2000s for their drums. I owned a set also LOVED LOVED LOVED them.
Wish List for R and D. 1. die-cast hoops. 2. one-piece metal cube lug cut from a solid block of aluminum or steel. No parts. 3. Free-floating Snare drum. 4. DW line for marching percussion with 2 headed toms. 5. Metal flanged shells. ala Ludwig. 6. Die-Cast Shells. 7. DW drum rack made with Aluminum and not expensive. 8. Machined metal shells. not expensive. 9. Composite fiber shells. not expensive. 10. Epoxy resins or Rosin polymers applied to each shell in a vacuum seal 100 saturated. 11. Power toms. 12. Steel or Aluminum bass drum hoops. 13. Greater petroleum research and development for drum head technology. A living drum head? 14. Re-cutting bearing edges on existing drums for the same owner with a factory visit. 15. $1000.00 sale tax on all resales of DW applies to the first owner but also to mail order or chain stores on the first sale. 16. Sales volume spiffs for drum stores reps in the form of lower pricing for them on all orders by a lot. 17. No pre-manufactured lines. 18. No economy line. End PDP. 19. No multi wood or muti material products.
A lot of me, myself and I when this guy talks. I guess he did it all by himself. But I will admit, I tried the MMD double pedal at the store and it's pretty awesome. But at a grand it''s a pedal that I will never own.... At least not a brand new one. To me, that's always been DW's Achilles heel..... Just too over priced.
seems like a nice pedal but all the "game changing" innovations John mentions are standard features on my Trick pedals. and thats the 2nd video I've seen where they claim the footboard is adjusted independently and i can clearly see the footboard moving with the linkage, which is what i hated about Axis. and honestly its pretty overpriced. I LOVE DW hardware but i think i m sticking with Trick as far as direct drive pedals.
I was gonna ask you about that. Ive played the Axis A-21's for about 5 years now. I wanted something different. How would you compare the Trick's to these new DW direct drive pedals?
Whooooaaa NO PAINT on any of those signature snares!!!! My mind just blew off the back of my head!!! That is amazing!!!

Rico Horton Too heavy? If you change the fulcrum point it feels like air. It actually messed with me how light it was.
Ya I tried changing the fulcrum.
@@ricohorton axis sucks dw rules all the ways
@@mauricewhite1162 I have Axis A21 Sabre. Like it. I also have DW MCD double pedal. Love it as well. Just don't like the MDD feel.

Lol he only took personal credit for the heel section. Agreed on price tho, too expensive to ever buy.
