I start watching these and I can’t stop because the speakers are just so engaging and so willingly sharing some of the most useful knowledge they’ve ever learned in their careers it’s amazing
Yes, it's just amazing that they are giving it to us for free, there is so much value in this and the main YC channels, yet most people just fall for some scummy "Get rich quick with AI" courses and such...
One of the best talks that's out there on youtube! Thanks Aaron Levie for sharing your insights, thanks to Stanford, YC and Sam Altman for sharing these lectures online.
If it isn't obvious why Box succeeded, it is because of Aaron. This guy is a natural salesman. Look how comfortable he is in talking with people. On the flip side, you have his co-founder, Dylan. Dylan is the nerdiest guy ever. He even appeared in the Matchmaking reality show. Yeah. That is how nerdy that guy is.
It is but Dropbox that is doing enterprise and consumers are valued at 7,8bn vs „only“ 3,8bn. So maybe just offer your service to consumers anyway if you can.
All his insight and experience in one nut shell and what a great prespective to the future, will keep that in mind in the course of our ventures in the enterprise space.
Check out Nir Eyal's new video lesson on Creating Habit-Forming Products: zana.io/welcome-lesson/creating-habit-forming-products It's a great mix of entrepreneurship and psychology, and comes with actionable resources to apply to your own startup/blog/product.
The point 1. Entreprise do not need to invest the server / infrastructure to deploy. Now it’s all in cloud and on demand. No cost barrier Previously enterprise need to install the software to company internal server . 2. Now it’s user centric. Not much complicated as it was.
1. Spot where the disruption is 2. Start intentionally small 3. Find asymmetric. Where big companies technically unfeasible or unpractical. 4. Find the almost crazy outliers. Find customers who works in the future 5. Listen to customers but not always build what they want, but what they need 6. Make the product sell itself

After the dry last episode, this was a great reinvigoration.
Brilliant and articulate. Aaron Levie is a prime example of an entrepreneur who I'd invest in regardless of what his idea is; you can bet on _him_ .

Unsexy but much more profitable market. I love how his approach allow both small businesses and huge enterprises to be able to use the same solution

Finished, great speech
I feel like this is relevant again now with AI being the disruptor instead of the cloud. Although cloud is also still growing significantly.
Great perspective, for this unsexy market for startup

It's funny... I'm working on EE master thesis, that deals with implementation of AI in water industry while this guy jokes at 30:42 about this.
