The fact that you whipped out a trigger gauge for this video was enough for me to give it a thumbs up and subscribe. This is the kind of attention to detail we need from these tech geek reviews:)
***read this before buying, reasonable advice*** Bought this to play COD Warzone. I owned the SCUFF FPS reflex controller for 3 months before the R1 button stopped working. Clicky trigger no longer clicked and was sent to Scuff under warranty to repair. Issue was fixed and got the controller back in a little over a month. About 4 months later I started experiencing an issue with drift. Not your typical stick drift (i.e. cursor slowly moves in certain games and can be fixed using deadzone corrections) but a stick drift that literally moves what you see selected on the screen as it if you were pressing the analog stick all the way down. I am not talking just in game, even on the PS5 menu screen it randomly moved at full speed making the controller a paper weight. Add the RMA repair at this point I have had the controller for a little over 180 days and guess what the warranty period is? 180 days! Messaged Scuff to see what they could do and was told that since it was past 180 days I would have to pay for repair which would range from $20-100! I paid $300 CAD for this product, add the potential cost of repair and it would be $400 for this controller! Let me ask you, would you do it? The product is poor quality. In addition to what I have mentioned there are plastic mold quality concerns as well as design flaws: PS5 controller have 2 plastic parts (top and bottom) that come together like a clam. The top plastic does not sit flush with the bottom. You can feel it when you run your index finger up and down along the sides. This is not the case with OEM controller. There are 4 paddles. Unfortunately the inner paddles are easily pressed by accident so if you're trying to do a jump shot and accidently hit the inner paddles as well as the outer nothing registers at all. The easy fix is to remove the inner paddles so if you're looking for 4 paddles it'll likely be unplayable. You'll have to be very careful. Here's my suggestion. I've owned OEM controller for over 30 years and NONE of them have broken like this poor quality product. WAIT and buy the PS5 Edge Controller which is the EXACT same price as the SCUFF and very likely better quality. Don't cheap out (actually not cheap, don't get ripped off) by buying a Scuff controller than has a reputation for breaking down and stick drift. You can actually replace the analog sticks modules on the Edge without having to buy an entire new controller if you experience stick drift!!! It's pretty much a guarantee that the EDGE will be better quality than SCUFF and they are the same price so there is really no point in buying this controller. Don't get ripped of like I did. I hope this helps someone.
@@TomasVillegas you're lucky then, it's buyer beware with Scuf. When I asked what they could do given the circumstances they told me that they are only required 6 months warranty by law and that I had entered into an agreement when I purchased off their website that I was ok with this. Yes, that's what CS said to me! The company is a joke, stick with an OEM controller, not this cheap aftermarket knockoff stuff. They know their product is not durable hence only meeting the minimum requirement required by law.
@@TomasVillegas I'm curious, when you run your fingers up and down on the side close to the trigger buttons (the crease where the plastic meet) is the top and bottom of the controller flush? Compare it to an OEM controller and you'll understand what I mean.
@@hazy-past Seriously wanted to like this controller as it's not cheap and I don't want to have to buy another controller but can objectively say that it's pretty bad quality. Hate having to wait but I think it's worth it to get OEM.. the dualsense edge looks ridiculously good.. I'd imagine Scuf will need to lower their price on this cheap knockoff once it's released I see no reason why anyone would buy this over it.. Scuf is excellent at marketing but check their reviews they have a pretty bad reputation when it comes to quality
price point aside .... but what are your thoughts between the scuff vs aim? i have a scuff now same one you have in the vid - i like the back paddle placement , how does the aim controller compare to the scuff paddles? fit ergonomics ...etc . thanks subbed !
Great video so just to confirm the bumpers are also instant like a mouse click the same as the triggers? (bumpers are what i use to shoot with so this is important they aren't standard) Secondly not only the trigger rumbles but also the main rumbles are removed so that if I selected vibration in a game I would have none? Also important as I don't use vibration and want the controller as light as possible. Thanks and liked!
My r2 broke in a month sent it to be repaired came back working great until today r2 button not working again in not even a month when it's working it's the best controller in my opinion but with this constant problem make me lose faith in it
I just got this controller and I don’t know why but my diagonal aiming is very slow but the rest is good. Is there something in the settings that messed up my controller?
How come if I click customise on scuf the starting price is £279.96 with it set to default. However the scuf reflex fps is £249.99. So why does clicking customise add £29.97 to it even though I added nothing to it
This is my first time using a scuff brand controller and I just got it. Is it normal for the swipe pad to not work with certain games? I can push it in but if I go play another game exp ghost of Tsushima I can’t swipe with it. Is this an issue or is it just how it is made
That tension test you did was very useful to me! I was wondering why my aiming felt different compared to OEM. I can’t say it’s better or worse than OEM just different in my experience. I’ve been using the FPS since January, and continually have extreme problems with the instant triggers(many have) failing. They have failed 4 times on my R2 in 1-2months of use between repairs. My suggestion is to opt away from the instant triggers, it’s not worth the minimal millisecond(s) you get in exchange. I just purchased an AIM controller waiting for it to arrive. I got everything maxed out and all digital buttons/bumpers, except for the instant trigger option on the AIM. Anyway, I saw your video on the AIM controller, and wanted to know what you don’t like about it owning it for awhile now, as well if anything has gone bad on it? Thanks!
Looks like I was not the only one. I was thinking the same thing! The clicky triggers really aren't worth it given they are not as durable. I had to get mine fixed as well! You'd think buttons you press continuosly all game would be a little more durable especially given the price of this controller
Goodluck. You’ll be sending that aim controller back repetitively for joy con issues. Paid over $300 for mine and it’s spent more time in the mail than in my hands.
I just got a Reflex FPS Pro and my left stick doesnt always work when i wanna sprint. Did anyone else have that problem because my friend who ordered the same got the same problem.
super appreciative of the attempt to even showcase thumbstick tension! a big factor in why i preferred Scuf Infinity 4PS over the normal was due to this lighter tension. great video :)
A just bought one for a Christmas gift for my brother and it’s costing over £300 Have a did well or will it break in time Wasn’t till after a bought it that a started reading reviews
Question, if I get the base model Reflex and fully upgrade it will it be the same as fps, I just want to customize it to a cool color instead of the FPS’s 4 colors
Hell yeah I can’t wait to get me one of those scuff controllers I just started my gaming channel up over 10 days ago. I should’ve been done it years ago but trying to get more people to my game and channel scribers and stuff like that but can’t wait to get me one soon.
This is a very good controller. I like the soft clickiness of the triggers which btw is for all the shoulder buttons. The Xbox version is not as good because of the triggers are too stiff.
@@zJOEY_ so glad you asked me, was great in the initial month prior to MW2 but I litterally got stick drift right after the launch of MW2, Corsair took it immediately for warranty repair but gave me a new one straight after, which should be arriving tomorrow. But yeah definitely be aware of faultiness kind of annoying not getting the longevity like I got with my PS3 controllers… wonder why controllers nowadays fall apart so quick and cost triple the amount

Every video on these upgraded controllers fail to properly go over the rear buttons. Prob the biggest reason why people watch these videos. There is no realistic show of the rear buttons on how the positioning works. The scuf rear buttons look real odd but it is a popular contoller so the rear buttons must be good, 🤔
I got my Reflex FPS about a week ago. Shipped was VERY fast with no same build or expedited shipping. Ordered on Sunday and arrived Thursday. I really like it so far.
