H/H match update and preview of the week ahead: ... This is week 148 (of 291) for our favorite classic game show. These episodes were taped on May 2, 1976 and first aired in late June of 1976. Once again, our three stalwart regulars are all in their places with bright, shiny faces, and this time they're joined by: ~~~Semi-regular Fannie Flagg, whose last appearance was 3 weeks ago. This is now her 41st week (of 90). This time she's the panelist with the best head-to-head track record (52.4% matching accuracy). Brava Fannie! ~~~Dick Martin, whose timely appearance saves the MG crew the bother of changing the name in front of the first seat after Dick Gautier's visit last week. It's the third week (of 22) for this Dick, his most recent appearance being episodes 616-620. Dick hasn't had a shot at the H/H yet. ~~~Juliet Prowse, making her Match Game debut. (Pucker up, Juliet! Gene's headed your way!) She'll return once for episodes 1111-1115. Well, I always root for the semi-regulars to have a chance at the head-to-head, and this week is no exception. Fannie last played (and matched) in 722. Dick Martin hasn't been selected yet. I don't keep stats on panelists' performance in the regular game, but my impression is that he hasn't been that great at matching. Obviously, the head-to-head is entirely different from the regular game, so it would be interesting to see how he would perform if chosen. (Edit: Dick matched a lot today!) I always enjoy seeing regulars Brett and Charles participating in the H/H. Charles had an opportunity to shine recently (he played nine times between 707 and 717), but Brett now hasn't played since three in a row back in 690-692, so I'd love to see her have another turn this week. Anyway, here's hoping that this week Match Game serves up plenty of ___________! ~~~Today's action: Another champion is defeated after winning only $100. Still, what a wonderful experience it must have been to be on TV back then! I'm sure many contestants treasured their memories of the show (and some lucky ones got to treasure a winning H/H card with Richard's autograph). Our newest champion steps up to center stage. Today's audience match question: "_________Rogers" (My thoughts: Buck, Ginger, Mister) The celebs: Brett (Roy), Fannie (Ginger), and Richard (Buck) The choice: Roy The answers: Ginger, Will, Roy The contestant scores $500, but with all the kissing going on (he apparently got so excited he didn't recall who he'd gotten the winning suggestion from and goes up to smooch Fannie before making a second trip up to hug and kiss Brett), time ran out before the head-to-head. Talk about a cliffhanger! I have to think he'll call on Fannie or Brett for the head-to-head, but I can't rule out Richard either. Oh, the suspense! (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
Regardless of what anyone thinks of Brett, that was still a cheap shot. Fannie didn't seem to be too enthusiastic either. I imagine she was wondering just how confused that jerk really was.

Wikipedia says she would be going on 52 in this episode. Doing the math she had her third and final child when she was 37. It said he was actually born on her birthday 7/11/63. All of this is more information than I ever really wanted to know, but I figured I'd Google her just for shits and googles. Get it? Lol! Take care.
Smooth move, Cecil. That was slick.

Brett gave Cecil the $500 answer and kissed Fannie 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Harrison Brown probably just wanted to kiss Fannie 😆😆😆
Do you blame him?!

Who wouldn't rather kiss Fannie over an old hag?

Cecil is planting them on ALL the ladies!
That was great! I would have kissed Fannie too :)
Juliet Prowse was a doll.

Brett has young children, but she looks so old. She must have been in her fifties when these shows aired
Let's just say that heavy alcohol consumption tends to age people prematurely.
