In 1971 I took a train from Haridwar to Patna. Things were different back then, if you had disembarked at a station to get some chai and the train left you could catch up with it walking quickly or jogging. The journey took about 30 hours if I remember correctly with several long delays but I enjoyed the leisurely and peaceful progress beside or near the river Ganges. India has moved on a long way and I'm guessing many have been left behind.

It was planned to start it's service from saturday onwards but delhi hasn't approved anything yet so nothing fixed
