    I feel like this topic is the reason that the Church has been on a temple building spree. When you come from a privileged background, and then you are employed in a cushy job for life with all your earthly needs fulfilled, you really only have to worry about eternity. So the solution is all their problems is to build temples. If the top leadership came from more profoundly humble places in life, they would remember that there are so many temporal needs that need to be fulfilled before a person can go on to worrying about their eternity. The usage of Church funds would likely dramatically change toward more humanitarian spending.

      I firmly agree with this. If the temple is of God, then would God be more pleased with 1000's of temples or with all his children taken care of?
      I think the answer is obvious. Are we more pleased with great works of art, or our own children being taken care of?

      Very clear discernment Emily. Our backgrounds and life situations absolutely influence our priorities of focus in life, and it is clear with these false shepherds as to where their priorities lie.
      @@elginmcbride Exactly. Acts 17:24
      "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;"
      But he did say he will make his abode in those individuals who truly love and follow him (as man's tabernacle is not made with hands, but made by God and in the image of God):
      "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him"

    The greatest mortal prophet to walk the Earth lived in the desert, didn't shave, wore animal skins, and ate bugs. Yet he was endowed by heaven to overthrow the corrupt church of his day. That church began in purity, according to the lesser law. Over time it decayed, added to and took away from the commandments, changed the ordinances, and became corrupted by aspiring men.
    When the Israelites failed to ascend God's mountain in the desert, Moses and the high priesthood were taken from them. They were left with caretakers like Joshua, and then eventually kings like David. None of these leaders ever approached the same level of authority and power as Moses had, until John.
    Joseph Smith tried and failed to bring about Zion. D&C 124 specifically states that the high priesthood was taken from the church and that a temple (Nauvoo) was needed so that the Lord could restore it. That temple was never completed and therefore the church does not have that priesthood to this day. Joseph was murdered. His successor Hyrum was also murdered. Therefore, the church was left without a prophet, seer, and revelator. This is plainly stated in scripture and is indisputable. The idea that apostles ascend to the first presidency or that spiritual gifts automatically pass to the next senior leader in line is completely unsupported in the scriptures.
    Therefore, the church was again left in the care of lesser men. Brigham schemed his way to the top and, by many accounts, was like Saul. Powerful and rich, but without any spiritual gifts. A man cannot be a prophet when he specifically states (at the end of his life) that he'd never even seen an angel. That folly continued through his successors. What began in purity decayed steadily into the corporate church we see today. What remains is nothing like what Joseph established, drawing near to God with their lips but who display all the hallmarks of priestcraft.
    Whited sepulchers, indeed.

    • @uncorrelatedmormonism
      @uncorrelatedmormonism  3 місяці тому +7

      This is very true. Upon reflection, it is such a silly concept to think that apostolic seniority should be used to select the next prophet of God.
      God should be the one to select his next prophet, not the arbitrary time of who has been the apostle the longest.
      It is also very true that prophets of God shouldn't automatically look like successful men of the world. In the scriptures the prophets were almost always the weird ones on the fringe.

    Unlike in 1832, when Jesus Christ referred to His nascent Church as ““…the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased, speaking unto the church collectively and not individually“ (D&C 1), the LDS Church devolved into what the Holy Ghost now refers to as a “dead faith” (DE#53). Not only are leaders admired and praised by members of the church and the world for their successful careers and achievements, but if you notice, they haven't had any opposition in their lives either.
    Have leaders become like the leaders of the church when Christ was upon the earth?
    Only the highly educated and successful elites could become the leaders.
    Remember, Christ did not come from among them in the church. Christ was considered an outsider. They considered Him an enemy.
    Question....
    Why does the Lord say, He is going to send another servant and prophet to take back His vineyard (church), throw down their tower (Salt Lake Temple) and scatter them.
    Do the leaders today parallel the leaders of Christ time.
    Were not the leaders and Jews scattered and their temple thrown down and destroyed not long after Christ death.
    I believe history is repeating itself, just in a different way. Instead of the Jews, it's the Mormons, and instead of Christ, it's a servant.
    This servant and prophet is the last one who will actually usher in the second coming of Christ.
    This servant, like Christ, would be considered an outsider. Like Christ, his identity has been hidden until it's his time.
    Christ was among the leaders and the people, and they knew him not. Not til it was His time.
    I believe this last servant is now among the people, and they know it not. But sonn they will. For it will be this last servant time.

    • @uncorrelatedmormonism
      @uncorrelatedmormonism  3 місяці тому +4

      I have noticed this. I am not sure specifics about the last servant; however I doubt he is going to be among the top leadership and people think. Being in the top leadership warps people's minds. As you said they have no opposition and go from adoring fan base to adoring fan base.
      I suspect the last servant is going to be a nobody that simply seems to have all the right answers. People will hate him, but they will fear his truth more. At that time people will have to decide do they trust in God more, or the organizations of men more. It will be a very hard challenge for a lot of people.

    • @keith5459
      @keith5459 3 місяці тому +2

      This last servant is not coming to bring peace as thought during Christ time when He was upon the earth. The Jews throught the Messiah was going to bring peace. Instead, He brought division and destruction.
      I believe this servant is coming to bring division among the church and its members also.
      He is bringing judgment and punishment that will begin in the Lord's house. And from there it will go upon this nation and then to all nations.
      As for the gathering, the only one who can gather in the righteous and the tribes of Israel is the Lord Himself. For no man has that power or authority to do so. Either on this side or the other side. For Christ is the only one who knows one's true intent, and the pure in heart. He is also the only who knows who Israel is and where the they are located.

      @@keith5459 quite sound understanding of the role and station of that servant. You are correct of course, he will be called directly of God, having communed directly with Him, and will be prepared as a shaft in His quiver.
      He will break all the molds that are of men and of culture in the Lord's House, which frankly, is almost all of them at this point. He will teach the pure and simple Doctrine of Jesus Christ and will always point to his Master, and not himself:
      'behold my servant, in whom I rejoice; my chosen son, with whom I am pleased: he shall go forth from darkness into light, to be a light to the remnant of my people, and a scourge to the wicked of that generation.
      The sons of the earth shall behold my arm, which I shall bear unto them; unto the ragged and marred apprarance they shall say, there is a wild one among us, there is a scourge in our midst- go ye out from among us, yea, purge us no more.
      Yet shall my hand bring justice to the nations, and my covenant shall judge with equity the meek. In that day shall the pride of men fail them, and the Lord alone shall be exalted.
      My son shall speak no word of his own glory, for he shall be raised to know he hath no glory, having lived among filthy men; nevertheless he shall say unto men: prepare ye the way of the LORD, for the day cometh that shall burn as an oven.
      For my right hand shall do my work in that day, yea, shall my hand prepare unto me a fortified and strengthened City of Priests, that my rest among men may be glorious.'
