This is the best critic of the 2 FSU loses that is spot on target. All the other FSU gurus need to shut it down and tune in here. They are demeaning coaches and players without identifying correctable issues.
The guys at 247 broke it down just as thoroughly and essentially said the exact same thing. But yes this is good too lol
Learned more in 40 minutes about defense from DR than the last 30 years. Excellent information demonstrated in a way that is easily understood. DR needs to break down every game - key moments.
Them X's and O's is where it's at. Every game is winnable if we can stay on the same page

Agreed. Even Louis Riddick was picking up on this during the broadcast. He kept saying FSU was out of place and not filling the rushing lanes
Amazing breakdown & analysis, as always. WHY isn’t D-Rob on Norvell’s staff?? At the very least, just hire him ad hoc to go over this film with the players. I know the coaches already do that, but maybe it helps hearing it from someone else🤷♀️
Communication issues comes from bad coaching. This won’t get fixed this season.
So, ineffective communication, not paying attention, and undisciplined. Signs of a young team, or a team that has not played together very much.
I absolutely love these videso from DRob. It really helps to know why we are having the defensive breakdowns.
No QB, No WRs, No LBs, no fight, soft on both lines of scrimmage. Will be lucky to win 2 or 3 games. This team is awful
Even though SMU lost to BYU last night, if FSU plays the way they have played, that SMU team would for sure still beat us. So basically the only team in confident that we could beat, is Charleston Southern

@noletroll not completely confident, but pretty confident. Though, even though BC looked pretty good Saturday (against mediocre FCS though), if we play the way we played against BC, we could lose to every team this season for sure.

Florida States Defense needs to become monsters to save our season, offense needs to stay under the guide of Norvell. period end of story.

There’s no saving this season dude. Norvell is the reason for this team being so bad. He refuses to get these bums off the staff, after failure and failure. They can’t recruit, they are trash at scheming and putting the right players on the field. Why is fuller even there for? Offensive line has been trash for 5 years. And only looked good bc Jordan Travis covered their butts. We arent gonna be good until we get a coach that’s cut throat and dirty when it comes to recruiting and making changes to get better.

Fuller had GOT to go. No pressure, atrocious tackling, the 2 LB scheme DOES NOT WORK. I'm a 1970 FSU grad and 76 years old. Give me a fourth of Fuller's salary and I could give you a nasty lights out defense like Mickey Andrews did and a defense like the 1985 Chicago Bears!!! My God it ain't that hard!!!

I hope we do a “what’s wrong with the FSU offense” film breakdown too. Our defense is far from perfect but they’re on the field 40 min per game. At some point our offensive minded HC needs his unit to step up and score some points.

Excellent! Thanks DR! The current defensive players are simply too slow at communicating. I hope the coaching staff completely changes the defensive scheme to make it easier for the players. If not, opposing teams are going to run a no huddle, hurry up offense, and completely mess up FSU defensive play calling.
I can’t wait to hear DR’s take on the offensive line.
i'm glad I watched this because I swear I thought Lundy was just pure trash, but he was given a banjo call to the outside corner, and we are not communicating at all. Is this something that Adam Fuller needs to install more into our players or is this a player thing that needs to be amongst themselves?
It's a bad sign that we routinely get beat on such simple routes that they run multiple times. We have too many breakdowns and this isn't new. We had elite talent that made up for it last year but when we need to coach up kids that maybe aren't as skilled, we get brutally exposed.
I miss watching ya'll during games during the struggle years and watching the growth of what we saw last year.
Dominic is a gift, this makes the issues make way more sense than "we just aren't good."

For GT, if Reciever #11 would have blocked the safety, Ward would have had at least a 50+ yard gain. The missed assignments can go both ways.
I keep saying we are missing Deloach. That guy was the QB on D the past 2 seasons

The problem is simple. The defense is focusing on the guy in front of them instead focusing on the guy with the ball which is the QB. Instead of trying to use brute force they need to finesse the guy in front side to side to get to the man with the ball at all cost. Play laterally then attack forward…

We are in year five with this Coaching Staff and we are seeing this product on the field.when you look at most of the other power five teams play the last couple of games we as a team and coaching staff seem to have taken multiple steps backwards why is that? There is some real hard questions that need to be asked.cant recruit?.. just trying to pay players to come here? Hoping they will give a damn and play hard for the university?

This was great stuff. Communication issues are frustrating, but what is almost as frustrating is the players making mistakes with leverage, angles and positioning are mostly not young guys. It's a lot of Lundy, Cypress, Payton. Not only them there's definitely others but those guys shouldn't be making those mistakes. Hope it gets cleaned up soon. I think we still have a chance at the playoff...it's an extremely small chance but if we can win out we might be in the mix. Winning out after our start seems impossible but there's no way this team is this bad, and we have a bunch of ranked teams still to play. We will see, but the fix for this stuff has to come immediately...if possible.
So JRob, is it a bad coaching job? This happened time and time again, or are the players not understanding? Communication on the defensive side of the ball is critical/crucial

Been screaming it for awhile. We don’t have the bodies like we use to. Stop playing man. They have to think too too much. Start playing some Zone.
It's pretty obvious that our defense was woefully unprepared for these basic offensive schemes, especially the screen. My two cents. Our offense in practice and games does not have an effective screen game, it is not a strength (for whatever reason). Hence they are confused with these basic concepts. However, the fact it didn't get fixed for bc is a little maddening (even if it's a little different from GT). GO NOLES.😊

This comes down to poor coaching yet again. This is abysmal.
I honestly never understood the talk about 23 on defense being a great addition. He was supposedly the top DB in the portal, but he is bang ass average. The tape don't lie. Tired of seeing "experienced" players on both sides of the ball being out of position & not having a clue what's going on. We don't have time for that - time to give the younger & more talented players opportunities to make plays. I can live with talented young players making mistakes - I can't live with talentless 5th year players looking lost on every snap. Forget NIL, forget people's feelings. Use your entire roster & give other players more reps. It's not that difficult - this is where I blame the staff - from Norvell on down. If you can't even evaluate your own players, then what are we doing paying you the big bucks??
Looks like 23 and 3 are the most egregious at poor communication. Sad because they're seniors, but maybe it's time to move on rather than keep losing.
Watching Michigan vs Texas. They are at a whole other level than us ! Line and organization discipline and defense are not what we have. We have athletes but not where it counts on every play in the trenches. At Qb and Linebacker. Fix that and maybe we will be closer but far worse than these teams 😮
You can see watching the game on TV the breakdowns they just gotta execute better and communicate better now if they are doing this in game 5 or 6 then we have a much bigger issue with this team
Focusing to much on the defense yes its not as dominant as we thought. But the offensive stinks how many points in 2 games. Should be averaging atkeast ,twice the amount oer game. Atleast

We have a quitter culture. That bowl game debacle and what was allowed to happen has carried over to this year. If UGA had a bunch of opt outs and we played all of our starters there is no way they get beat by 60. UGA players have pride and would have battled to the end. We have a lot of work to do in Tally
After it happened the FIRST time, someone should have called a timeout so that it NEVER happened again! That is pee wee football stull, unbelievable!

Fuller is either coaching that behavior or he is condoning that type of behavior. That sums up the defense.
Norvell needs to clean house the only person he need the keep is the RB, DB coach and SPT coach. Everyone else needs to go. Loyalty goes out the window when it comes to W’s and L’s.
There is a problem with communication with the coaches , especially Fuller. Since these involved the dbs . I hope the assistants, on the offense and defense, aren't scared to give constructive criticism, or that head coaches don't ask or want input. I mean our cornerback coach was an all pro NFL guy, and randy Shannon was a hurricane great back in the day. Anyways, great comment bro.
