We don't throw a hurricane for everyone. You're special!
Underrated comment. Hell, LA doesn't even just rain for anyone.

note that in the Pacific Ocean, they are called typhoons. Although that wasn't a typhoon, just a heavy rainstorm. 🙂

It never rains in California
But girl, don't they warn ya?

Loved the bus tour guide's honesty about the current conditions living in LA 😂 He was gold
yep. I can't imagine LA./Cali being a tourist destination still with how bad it has gone downhill. Hopefully they get to visit other areas of the country as well
Yes LA is a total shytehole
Yeah. Kudos to the bus tour guide. A lot of them have no personality. They just drone on about whatever is on the list. This guy made it sound more personal and fun!

@@Mikel3564They went all over the US. Great seeing them finally take a trip over here.
I’ll say it again and again, but it is so surreal to see the NZ family in America enjoying the vacation you went on after these years of videos and reactions and anticipation!!!! God bless y’all!
Now we are itching to come back!!
Come out to San Francisco and I will show you where to go and where not to go. Oh . . . I will take you on an insane food tour!
@@yournewzealandfamily FWIW, Durango is a state in Mexico and a town in Colorado.
@@yournewzealandfamily It's hard to beat the sunsets in the western states. They usually are not nearly so dramatic, say, in Illinois.
@@yournewzealandfamily Argh! Now my mouth is watering for Mexican food, but it's 2 AM and all the restaurants are closed.
Great video! You guys remind us Americans of how much we take for granted. Welcome to the USA and thanks for visiting us.
Facts!
I'm from Texas, but I get proud of other states (like California) when people visit from other countries. California is an amazing place to visit. I've been there three times, and I'm always impressed.
the mexican food simply ROCKS in california. great to see you all loved it
my best friend moved to florida recently, he said california mexican food is untouched lol
You got that right!!! 😁😎👍
I had a friend from Guadalajara Mexico said that Mexican food in California is better than anything she's ever ate in Mexico. Same with a friend from Massachusetts.
Yeah, and I bet the sushi sold in an L.A. 7-11 is better than anything you can get in Japan. Your friend should lose her Mexican citizenship. 🤣🤣 @@twerkysandwich64
@@twerkysandwich64 That's because the Mexican food in Cali is a mix of the best food from all over Mexico.
The tallest pole flag in the USA is in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Standing 400 feet tall, it flies a 70x140 foot American flag, which is visible for miles on a clear day.
Nice!
Not sure how tall the flag pole in Dorris CA is ("tallest in the usa"), but that is tall at 400ft! @@eurekasquared9853
Plus, it's just fun to say Sheboygan...Sheboooygan.
@t-bone3599 you stole my line! 😂 When I was little my two favorite cities were Sheboygan and Walla Walla Washington, just for that reason. My niece liked Machu Pichu. I have a weird family lol
Please convert to the metric system mate.
Just kidding.
This family deserves everything they’ve gotten! They’re good and kind people and they show us what life should be about! Always happy, smiling, laughing, and enjoying life with their family. Over here you have to worry about so much because you get judged for everything
Oh, don't worry. I'm sure many have judged them. I know I have!

I live in LA and have been to New Zealand twice. It's really great to see my city through your eyes. You have my admiration for driving in LA traffic straight away. I had the same anxiety when I first drove a rental car in Auckland. Cheers NZ family!
LOL yep me too. Driving out of the rental car lot onto the streets in Auckland for the first time was nerve wracking as hell! My brain was screaming at me "THIS IS SO WRONG! YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!!"
Same with London.
I find drivers in LA are pretty courteous for the most part. I was in Los Angeles about a month ago and really saw only one aggressive driver and he had Arizona plates, I find drivers to be much more aggressive in the San Francisco Bay Area. As far as driving in New Zealand or the UK, I would be scared of turning onto another road and, by habit, reverting to driving on the right hand side of the road.
I genuinely don't think I've had so much fun watching a video before!!! I am loving getting to see y'all's reaction to the U.S.!!!
🤣Denzel eating his Mexican food, "We have been in New Zealand for so long and this has been here all along!" Too funny. Looks like you had a good time in spite of the very unusual storm. Hollywood is such a bitter disappointment. You would think that given the huge landmark and attraction it is, they would do more to make it worthwhile to see but they sure don't. Loved the inclusion of the entire trip from leaving home in NZ to your arrival in California, it was so fun to see your excitment.
Hollywood is great. You just have to get out to the studio tours.
Well said @@toemblem
@@toemblem There is so much more to see than the studios, that is only one aspect of Hollywood. Most people want to see the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Threatre, the Dolby Theare, etc. but that area is dirty and filled with homeless people and other things you really don't want to see when you are on vacation and wouldn't expect to see in any case for such a high profile area They city needs to do something about making it something to see because people do want to see it. It's such a disappointment and frankly, an embarrassment.
@@colleenmonfross4283 Around Hollywood and Highland, there are not many homeless people but there are too many scamming buskers.
I work at In N Out, the level of excitement you guys had made my day😃

LOL "I can't find the indicator."
My friend and I went to NZ back in 2000, I still remember the windshield wipers coming on every time she was trying to find the turn signal.
And it's different in every car! My wife's car and mine are on opposite sides.
I don’t think it’s a foreign thing. Every car has different controls. Heck I always forget how to use the wipers on my mom’s Jeep
Seems like most people in CA these days can't find their indicator so they fit right in
There’s something so wholesome about this family coming to America and reminding us what’s great ….💕💙🇺🇸❤️
I loved their video showcasing the history and making of the Star Spangled Banner. I instantly fell in love with this family. They’re more patriotic and more appreciative of America and its history than many Americans. Regardless, it warms my heart to see a family that are so enthusiastic, respectful, and so appreciative of the United States and its history. They definitely do their homework.
I'm LOVING the car rental comments. We're from the US and got to visit New Zealand last March. When we rented a car, we made the same comments only in reverse!! So glad you enjoyed our country. Yours is wonderful as well, we loved our visit there!
I take so much for granted living in Cali. It was so much fun to see it through someone else's eyes.
Atlanta is starting to look so much like her mom! Both beautiful!
Agree 1,000 percent!
Seriously! I was noticing that too! Nadine seriously has a "Mini me". I really noticed it when they were at the top of the Empire State Building.

So glad y'all got to experience LA on a clear and sunny day! Next time you're in town, I would try to head down the coast to Orange County (laguna beach) for some classic social beauty. It is always so refreshing to see y'all focus on the positives when there are so many people focusing on the negatives. I am a California native, and so happy to see my beautiful state explored.
Adding on to this, Orange County also has some of the best Asian food, especially Vietnamese!
@@aznmochibunny Hell yeah we do! Garden Grove!
Also in Orange County CA, try the food truck tacos in Santa Ana CA. BOMB!!
If it wasn't for Asians and Mexicans orange county would be unbearably boring. It's just such a cookie cutter eyesore. HB is awesome though.
An honor, to have you in our country. Welcome, to a beautiful family!
As a Military Brat that was born in Hawaii and lived in San Diego California and South of Jacksonville Florida and done a road trip from coast to coast... there is so much different stuff to see in the US. One of my favorite parts of California to see in person is the Sequoia National Park. Pictures just don't do the size of those trees justice. Well worth seeing.
I am so glad that our friends from New Zealand had a great time here in the great ol' United States of America!
All the best tour guides will make you laugh and add their own flavor to things. You definitely found one of the good ones. Shout out to him.
James was a great tour guide. Very entertaining
I've been watching this family for some time, and now I am glad they finally made it to the U.S.
Loved this! When I was 21 I applied for a New Zealand work permit and flew from Los Angeles to Auckland to spend a year in your paradise. This was same trip, but through the looking glass.
Not going to lie, see8 g people visit our great nation(even if internally we don’t feel great) gives me great hope that we can still maintain this awesome experiment we call America.
Would dearly love to have you folks come and visit the Appalachian mountains. Us folks are known as "Hillbillies" because we ..... Live in the hills! But dude we honestly are self sufficient, have the absolute best food, fun and hospitality!! I think that your family would have so much fun spending a good evening with us enjoying our food, take a break and sit on the front porch with folks while enjoying a cold glass of sweet iced tea or lemonade, take a chew of tobacco and listen to mountain folk lore that has been handed down for decades.
We would love to have you visit with us!
For future reference turn signal, indicators, will be between the steering wheel and driers door, regardless of which side the wheel is on. Before indicators existed the drivers hand out the window was the indicator. That's why it's in that spot. Also on the fuel gauge face by the pump symbol will be an arrow pointing to which side the fuel fill is on.
My childhood hometown is Grants Pass and I grew up on our family horse ranch along Rogue River and the Applegate River meets the mighty Rogue. Back during 1970's us teenagers often floated on tire tubes down Rogue through Hellgate Canyon to Indian Mary Park.
I remember visiting people with a beef cattle ranch in Grants Pass in the mid 70's. Did some fishing in the Rouge River. It was a nice little town.
Your family is so precious and lovable. It was wonderfully to see your reactions to everything. You’re all welcome in America any time!
As an American, we are going to LA for the first time this week! From Michigan. So your video helped us 😂
Just casually kicking every ball in with a Seattle Sonics shirt on, the best! Love from Seattle
We just spent three months on a trip of our lifetime to New Zealand. It took me over a month to stop panicking when I was driving on the left. But to drive on the opposite side in the States for the first time...in LA. I still don't like driving in LA. You are a brave family. BTW, We loved every minute in NZ.
I was in sheer panic the first time in NZ also. Took me a couple of days to get that the only dangerous drivers are chinese tourists and young people with cars that look like a gaffa tape commercial ;)
I’ve been waiting for this one! I am so glad you visited my hometown of Los Angeles! It’s a really beautiful, and culturally rich place, and i’m glad I grew up here. Of course, it’s not perfect, but no place is :) I love you guys ❤❤❤
Yeah no place is perfect but California is beyond messed up now a days.
Please stay in California! It's the best place ever, according to you.
Thank you for taking us along. I don't know if these videos of your American trip became taxing, but I am glued to the screen to see some places that I will never be able to go to & experience. Enjoying your reactions to all as well. Main happiness is that you arrived home safely!😊

Proud of little bro facing his fears on the coaster 🔥
and that has to be one of the tamest coasters in the country too. but i grew up at cedar point, Ohios only redeeming qualities in the summer.
If you go to Disneyland two thing you should know.
First, when you walk in, you see a roundabout.
Look at the castle. It looks farther away. When you look from the castle to the entrance, it looks closer.
Because the Main Street is larger by the entrance.
Also stay for the fireworks, from the castle at night.
What a great family for this - not only the adults (who do a fantastic job) but your kids are such good sports - they're at an age where they could be shy or difficult on video but they really get into the spirit of these videos. Subscribed.
I love all of this - so cool to see you all spending quality time together in a really cool place experiencing something you've always wanted to. My favorite part was Denzel: "We've been in New Zealand for SO long... (pause) AND THIS WAS JUST SITTING HERE!?" I was laughing so hard
It was ALL fantastic, but Nadine's Chewbacca impression is the highlight for me. I'd like her to repeat that on all videos going forward. :) Thanks for sharing your trip!
I’m so happy you guys made it to America for what is looking like the trip of a lifetime. It’s inspiring to me. I’m an American and lived in Philadelphia region my entire life and I think you’ve easily experienced more of America than myself. Look forward to the rest of the content
The largest county in the US is San Bernardino County which is more than 4x larger than LA County. It runs from the edge of LA all the way to Nevada.
Yep.
Imagine they came to San Bernardino we ghetto as hell over here 😂 they woulda got robbed 😭
@@xavieriswavier sadly yes

He just said "largest", which can also refer to population. If that was the case, he would be right about Los Angeles County be the largest. He didn't specifically mention area or population, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
I've only been to San Diego but I loved it there. It's cool to see all the US Naval ships sailing by. Looks like you guys enjoyed the tour and Venice Beach.
It's beautiful to see your appreciation for my city and my country in general. There's too many ingrates living here.

first time driving in the US and you started with Los Angeles...literally swimming with the sharks!! you did great, probably better than I would've done and I drive in Phoenix traffic every day! also...it's so RARE to find money 😆 glad you all had such a great experience!! you make me remember how great my country is and appreciate it more!!
Y'all are the greatest family. Mom, dad, husband, wife, kids and siblings, wonderful relationships.
Watching everyone freaking out about driving on the “wrong side” reminds me of when my family went to Ireland last year. Driving on the right side of the car took every ounce of concentration for me. Great video.
I grew up in L.A. I wish you guys could see what it used to be. I left 12 years ago, and It’s nothing like the place I grew up in now. I have so many good memories, but I could never live there again. It’s so sad to see what it’s become. I remember Disneyland being such a magical place, there was always something fun to do, and I could walk around the city as a teenager without a worry. It used to be green too, which it hasn’t been for many years. I got engaged to my wife on Venice beach, about where you guys were standing. I wish my kids could have had the same experience I did…
Preach! I was SO lucky to get to visit LA in 2012, before it changed so drastically!
I was waaay more into the surrounding areas, and not the city itself.
Santa Susannah Park, The Knolls, Corriganville Park in Simi Valley were mind blowing experiences to someone from flatlands desert Texas.
