Loved what Earl said about creating things that are your reality and truth, like that line of making chicken late night wearing boxers, you can rap about your life and there will always be people out there who in some way resonate with that
for real.
It’s just hard if you don’t maintain the same style /voice for ppl who don’t care
That Tabula Rasa song has been a fixture on my spotify for 6-8 months, and that Billy Woods verse is my favourite on there no doubt.
its crazy how the more specific it is to you asa person the more people will relate to it!
Kind of anti-intuitive as a concept, but so many great examples of that truth out there. Kendrick Lamar being one of the rappers that defines this for me, always escaping the cliche and being boxed in, by being super specific.
