They're not mad that Palworld is better they're REALLY mad that Pokemon Company doesn't care if it's games are better. They just push titles out for a yearly releases to match with the card game and merchandise. The merchandise is where Pokemon really makes it's profits. TPC doesn't care if their games are quality or not. The games are just a small percentage of their revenue. The amount of the company makes through Pokemon home alone is enough to offset poor sales. Pokemon has reached the stage to where people will buy the games regardless of whether or not the games are even good

@@teaturtlesuffers what are you running on? Did you make sure that it meets the minimum requirements? Did you try fully shutting down your PC and then starting it back up? Uninstalling and reinstalling? I upgraded my PC before getting the game and haven't run into any issues really. I had a lengthy loading screen once but that was likely because I didn't have enough wifi signal. My in-game day count reset but it's since been fixed. They're working on things at least. Game has only been out for a little over a week and has already had two patches
You forget to mention one thing, you can be absolutely diabolical in Palworld and while I am not asking for pokemon to allow an evil route but having the option to do bad but still choosing to do good, it makes it more meaningful. So maybe for pokemon you can have easy route or a hard route in it's games one that rewards the player for choosing the harder option.

Just goes to show the pokemon formula has reached such a point of stagnation that anything if they took the formula and switched it up to make it look superior in comparison this is why the gaming industry is dying its because every idea has stagnated due to the safety approach of companies like pokemon. Now that indie developers are inspired to adopt ideas and switching them up with other ideas its a breath of fresh air and let's face it all these companies playing it safe are afraid.
I really don't think Pokemon company cares. The revenue lost from releasing subpar games is offset by the money generated from Pokemon home. I've seen multiple people say that even though palword does it better, they're STILL going to buy the next Pokemon game regardless. Pokemon is too big to fail, they play it safe because they can. Parents will shovel the games to their kids regardless because it's the safe, kid friendly game. They make like four times as much through merch sales than with their games. Pokemon won't change because they don't have to
@@zacziggarot Sooner or later pokemon will fall off though, I know not many people know this but management at gamefreak don't focus on improving their own skills and instead rely on contracted workers to do new things however these people aren't focused on making a good game either cuz they assume it will sell regardless and with management getting older sooner or later they will retire and it doesn't appear they are at all focusing on securing the future of the business as a whole and as the OG fans age we see more and more how very unmotivated gamefreak is when it comes to innovation and that unfortunately means they aren't creating the environment to bring it younger and newer fans. However I understand the sentiment that something so meaningful and so big is harder to imagine one day dying and that day is closer than some are willing to admit I don't think Palworld is the Pokemon killer but it's proof that Gamefreak is losing their grip on their main player base when a smaller less funded and less experienced indie development team can make a game that improves upon the same concepts of Pokemon and other genres and see so much success in such a short time and it's pretty sad that a main comparison for why Palworld is better is that it's more fun and has less bugs. I do love Pokemon tho it's my most favorite childhood franchise but I'm only willing to criticize it like this because I pray Gamefreak wakes up and actually tries to improve the franchise.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The low stakes and low difficulty of Pokemon were tolerable when I was a kid with hardly any game experience, but by now I'm a seasoned player, and I need something out of my games that Pokemon hasn't been able to give me in a long time. I'm really happy Palworld is as good as it is, only going to get better, and is getting the recognition and success it deserves.
There is not a single encounter in all of palworld that is remotely as difficult as the elite 4. Every boss and tower can be mindlessly cleared if you hit the dodge button within the 5 minutes each attack is telegraphed for. You don't need to care about types, levels, moves, anything. I beat the first tower at like level 10 just with the bow and dodging once in a while and my pals only existed to sit there and tank aggro. Every other boss has been even easier where I need to command my pals to stop attacking halfway through because me and my team are twice the boss's level just from catching pals and crafting, and I don't want to waste time fighting the boss twice. I've only died once and that was because I missed a jump. This is the easiest game I've played in years.

that group you mentioned, the free pal alliance, is unfortunately doing the exact thing they claim to hate right under the leader's nose. If you find and read the journal entries, you find out that the organization needed money to spread the message. When her subordinates started handing over tons of cash, she could only guess how they were getting it but the organization needed the money bad enough that she was forced to look the other way. She's not happy with it but the need for money to spread the message in her eyes is more important than trying to stop a few more pal poachers, even if they are coming from within her own ranks. Things get dark but you never realize just how dark until you dig under the surface and read those journals. And don't even get me started on Marcus... you'll just have to find and read that one for yourself... This game is worth it. From gameplay, to the little bits and pieces of story you get as you try to piece together the mystery of the islands. You can feel the whole thing being a shameless compilation of a bunch of great ideas but isn't that how art and entertainment in general evolve?
There are small villages you can go trade @ and get stuff from the merchant who may also visit camp, then if you want to to buy pals you can find the big mask wearing black market guy.
definitely hoping for the settlements in the game atm to get updates so far from what I've found they're just spots to find a couple merchants. nothing much else to them
I’d like to point out that Gen 1 while it didn’t hold your hand it also didn’t really help you know where to go. For instance if you didn’t know about the secret path in the safari zone you’re just kinda screwed because the game doesn’t really highlight that and it literally hides a mandatory TM.
Never have I been this addicted to a video game since the days of Terraria and Left 4 Dead 2, Palworld runs fairly smooth on my potato laptop too (~70fps medium settings). Huge props to Pocketpair!

The last time we got anything dark was in Sun and Moon when it covered the dark reality of getting older and child abuse. The anime had a doggo pass from old age. Granted legends Arceus had some dark themes to it with a murderous insane maniac with a god complex and Pokémon not as friendly, but all of this above feels like the exception and not the norm.

The only difference between gen1 Pokémon and the newest game is that the world traversal finally went 3D a couple of years ago and that the games are easier than ever to play and “complete”. Almost nothing has been added and the franchise is 30+ years old.
You can breed, you have Shinies, natures, a million attacks, new types over the years >> new tactics and type charts, the splitting into physic and special moves... and so on. You didnt play pokemon i guess.

Sure there’s new tactics, but outside of competitive, you almost never get much of a chance to use them cause of how easy it is to beat. Ur never challenged to use tactics or use moves to set up plays. Sure u could use a swords dance to raise ur attack and sweep, but u could also very easily just spam shadow ball until u win the psychic badge. Heck, other then type ur team composition doesn’t really even matter, there’s no true need for a tank or support or tactician mons, all u need is a strong and fast attacker. I understand it’s a kids game, but even then, the fact u can go the whole game without catching a single Pokémon should speak volumes about how little of an impact any changes have had to the gameplay.

Pokémon has explained that Pokémon can shrink to fit in the ball. Pokémon also give off a kind of energy that the humans have learned to capture. Humans can’t shrink. So it doesn’t work in the Pokémon world.
Palword is closer to Ark than Pokemon. If you have to compare aspects between Palword and Pokemon it would be the monster designs, where the latter is much better at imo. Nintendo would never ever make pokemon carry guns or enslave them in assembly lines.

Yes, yes, and then some more yes. For over two decades I've been hoping for Pokémon to deliver a game anywhere close to this, and they kept only re-using the same formula, making only occasional, minor, timid changes to pretend like they were keeping up when in reality, they were standing back wilfully because they knew they could, no one dared to challenge them from their golden throne. Palworld showed up and gave me everything I wanted out of Pokémon, and then some more on top of it with everything I tried in the game. It is pure, undiluted, 100% fun. Pokémon wanted to be safe and profitable at no risk because they thought they had everything to lose. Palworld started with next to nothing and was willing to take a chance, get out of the classic guidelines to make something risky, but wild... and they hit gold. Thank God. Now maybe Pokémon will see... there is value in taking at least a bit of risks and rolling with it.
This is what I wished Pokemon could of been. But instead they abandoned the core players of Pokemon that stood with them since 1999 and chose to sanitize over and over and over again and think it'll last forever. I've given up Pokemon since third gen. And Palworld brought back the child in me. I've been on this nonstop over every game i've got.
It may be annoying but one of my favorite concepts of Palworld are the NPC raids. I like how all your Pals will stop what they're doing to defend the base alongside you and the Pal you have out at the time😊

Palworld is everything Pokemon promised us but never delivered on since the very beginning. They've had 30 years to improve, and if anything they've gone backwards. They deserve all the loses they've experienced.
ive watched and played finished all the pokemon animes and games gens 1 2 3 6 ... 5 7 games, some 7 anime, very little 8 9 games, i think the switch era is the worst for pokemon minus arceus they reverted some of those ideas? anyway with all that, I agree 100% with all that :) 60+ hours into palworld and pokemon messed up being lazy and playing it safe for a long time. Final Fantasy got an M rated title finally with 16. I highly doubt pokemon will suddenly go M rated.. they don't even have a T rated game i don't think, maybe I'm wrong, but they lower the standards for kids :/
I still think its way 2 early to say palworld rivals pokemon. Digimon had huge success when it came out but ultimately couldnt stand the test of time. We will see in a year or 2 if Palworld keeps that success as right now its being catapulted by word of mouth

Here’s the other point. Endgame Pokémon isn’t hard, it’s mostly a case of over-tuning your Pokémon by grinding specific things to have your specialist Pokémon able to game-break mechanics that normally CC you out of a fight. 99% of the time that means buff the Pokémon to cap 1-2 stats then spam the associated ability until the enemy faints or swaps Pokémon. It’s basic simply due to the turn by turn, 4 abilities and element-type weaknesses. Palworld by comparison I’d a third person game with actual combat mechanics and pal team ups that actually make team comp a much more varied aspect. In Pokémon you would have 1-2 utility mins bonding travel/shortcut TMs but palworld locks that into the actual pals (for now) in almost every aspect.
Palworld excels at not being a jrpg like Pokémon the same way Minecraft excels at being a builder game compared to Tetris Seriously, everyone is going insane from the wrong reasons Pros because "its better than something its not attempting to be nor comparable to" (the pkmn with guns is just a marketing stunt) And antis because with enough reasons to blame Palworld's company lack of creativity and shady release tactics, they are makkng shit up In Jan 2025 gen 10 will likely have finally released, everyone will be losing their mind over it And if you ask anyone about Palworld, it would be like Hogwarts Legacy 2.0 "That game I played for three months straight and never came back after it got dull"

Is too much to ask for too for a proper boss battle that doesn’t feel like ur just fighting another trainer? I just want a pokemon game that when I walk into a city I can see a wild pokemon going rampant around the streets and send my electivire to stop it without going into a turn based match, not only that but also have engaging gameplay and feel like I’m in the anime. Pokémon doesn’t need open world or to be an mmo. or an action combat system. If Pokémon were an mmo, that would ruin Pokémon. Mmos are toxic money grab garbage that don’t respect a players time. Everyone will use only the last 5 pals in the game cause they are the only ones worth using for combat when PvP releases. There is no strategy. Pokémon doesn’t need an open world, but it’s not bad if it does have one. They can go with or without and still make a great game. For ur other points, did u play legends arceus? @@sonic-bb receiving an open world single player pokemon game with good multiplayer would be refreshing especially since every game has been the same linear gameplay format. In palworld u still get to control your monster and tell it to use certain moves and this is even more so when u can ride them to control them. I also fail to see how this means if Pokémon adapted an action combat formula it would only resort to stronger pokemon being used. what exactly do u define as a strong pokemon? In the pokemon tv show we see ash make everything viable even using pikachu against legendaries or Brock using croagunk against other Pokemon, or even when Alain in pokemon x&y used a bisharp instead of kingambit against goodra and greninja etc so what would you call strong outside of legendaries? what I’m trying to say is the comparison isn’t fair because first palworld doesn’t have evolutions and it also focuses more on getting more/stronger pals, while in pokemon the end goal if u want is to evolve ur main pokemons but also just because it isn’t at its final evolution doesn’t mean it isn’t strong. Also there’s nothing wrong with turn based combat but in pokemon it really just fails to show the sense of danger and it’s not as engaging since its slow paced and also has boring animations(it also isn’t exciting). besides there’s nothing wrong with trying to want a different combat system when we’ve been experiencing the same thing over and over again, sure it might not take “strategy” but there will still be skill involved and fun for most people, action combat open up alot of possibilities and will even make boss battles feel like boss battles. Who knows tho maybe pokemon will meet a middle ground between turn based and action combat so we can get best of both worlds and have an engaging gameplay
@@dojiio how do u tell ur pals to do moves? I’m only able to do that for the mounted Pals. Otherwise I can only tell them to attack aggressively, attack same target, or to not attack at all. Strangely I feel more attached to the ones at my base cause I see their expressions more often there lol. My main argument against Pokémon receiving an action combat formula is that Pokémon would lose the strategy based system it’s known for. I was just stating how it Palworld, the lack of strategy is amplified by the fact it only has 2 stats for combat. The tv show follows different rules from the games obviously -_- but in Palworld alone, let’s see a cattiva fight an Anubis. And in Pokémon, the only reason it would even be possible to see a first form take down a legendary (like bulbasuar taking down a suicune) is because of that turn based format. Make it action based and that goes right out the window.

Also there is something in the game that I never see anybody talking about or even showing, if you kill a pal later another pal gets attracted go to the body and starts to eat it, same to humans body, they just munch them. This is also a way to play the game and create a bait like you do in monster hunter, yeah it is not necessary but if you wanna role play... NPCs said many times people dies left and right in these islands by these monsters so if you see deep down there is a lore about this misterious islands with monsters and it seems on the rest of the world there is not, this is why there are guns and like tanzee who used sticks and stone as weapons until they get in contact with humans and their weapons, kinda same thing the europeans did in the past colonizing other civilizations, using them as slaves and teaching them how to use their modern weapons and work for them to not be in the same level of the others being dominated but still under their power.
(Not defending pokemon nor anything, as I have been playing the hell out of Palworld) Thing is, Palworld isn't better at pokemon, because it isn't being Pokemon. Just because it looks like pokemon doesn't mean it's trying to be Pokemon. So I wouldn't say the title is correct at all, the game isn't like Pokemon at all, to say it is is misinforming.

I dont know why everyone says the difficulty has gone down when in complete honesty its the opposite the only one that got “easier” is gen 6 and that was just …. Lets not talk about that one and i guess the first version of gen 7 Gen 1-3 is spread throughout the game gen 4’s difficulty is in the champion gen 5 is more balanced throughout the main fights and has a hard mode Ultra sun and moon is one of if not the hardest main line series game to nuzlocke and its only real competitor is pla with the volo fight Ok gen 8 i will give it to you is kind of easy Gen 9 puts more effort into story but most of the difficulty is put into a few of the gym fights and then the final boss Tldr the “newer” games just have difficulty not be a main focus and put in the big fights instead of the whole game

Don't mean to be this guy but Whitney's Miltank was in Gold and Silver released in 1999 not 1997. Also, you mention Palworld has a faction that is against capturing Pals. Pokemon did this in pokemon Black and White in 2010 with Team Plasma who were attempting to "Liberate" Pokemon.
Other than having monsters in it, pokemon and palworld are barely similar at all. Pokemon is an rpg and palworld is an action survival game. If someone wants something to purely be a more mature pokemon game I don't think Palworld is what they would be looking for, they would probably enjoy something more like shin megami tensei or dragon quest. I personally haven't played palworld because I know I don't like that style of survival gameplay.
Your "players want the difficulty up and the story to be darker" take is extremely common and it's never right. It does pokemon better than pokemon because it allows you to collaborate with your pokemon in ways that the real pokemon doesn't
Ok I gotta be that guy. At 4 and a half minutes you say you haven’t lost a trainer battle since 97 when you got stomped by Misty’s Miltank. This is literally impossible. Pokemon red and blue were not released in the states until 99, and Gold and Silver were not released in the US until 2000. can we be real tho? pal worlds success is mainly because its associated with pokemon XD... it had less sales week 1 than the most recent pokemon game. 7 million sales week one for Pal VS 10 million sales for week one of S/V (can i also mention S/V was exclusive?). Without apeing pokemon, it would be just another BASIC crafter/ shooter. It's hype, its new, it'll fade. ATM it has WAY too man yeggs in multiple baskets... the pokemon lovers want more mons, shooters want more guns/better gun mechanics. crafters want.. idk what crafters want tbh.. lol.. It will fail because of this lack of direction. With a divided community. Updates will need to cater to one aspect of the game to be frequent, pleasing every side in their community will lead to updates taking longer and the game losing momentum. EVEN popular games like Genshin impact knew this. they more or less gave up on the survival aspect(s) of genshin impact, and stuck to the beat'em up bits goign forward after the 1st year. I give this game 1 year tops. once PvP is released it'll start losing momentum after a month a fade out...
It’s not tho. The battle system sucks. Only good thing is how the environment looks. Pokémon has the same catching mechanics in legends arceus which was worked on at the same time as scarlet and violet. Which is why it’s not seen in those games. And scarlet and violet has a descent open world held back by the hardware. Pokémon’s battle system, which is the main selling point of Pokémon, is far greater than palworlds. In palworld, it’s not even worth having any monster that aren’t the last 5 since the later monsters are far stronger than any of the earlier monsters. Palworld isn’t selling because it’s a greater game. It’s selling because it advertised itself as Pokémon with guns and has better graphics.
Pokémon lost the “Pokémon are dangerous monsters” idea ever since the anime became popular and was only brought back with legends arceus. So idk why u even made that point. And Pokémon does have factions where they say Pokémon shouldn’t be used. Literally Pokémon black and white and black 2 and white 2 is literally built around that controversy. It makes no sense to say Palworld is being a better Pokémon than Pokémon, when Pokémon isn’t trying to be what Palworld is trying to be…
you have to remember its in early access and they plan on building upon pvp which makes me assume the battle system will get better. I don’t see it being more in dept than Pokémon but tbh I’ve had more fun fighting in this game than I have in years battling in Pokémon.

there's nothing palword did better than pokemon, litteraly. Gameplay: ark survival evolved + monster collect + guns. Not original, copied Pals sprites: even if some palls are unique and not copied, there isn't a pal wich is well made with cool and original design, people judging new pokemons forgot game freak just created 600 pokemons before starting making bad games.

The game gets attention, because it has cratures that look like pokemon. The game itself is not really that good. Sure it is fun, I actually bought it, but I would not say anything revorutionary, or anything being inproved. It is just a game that copies many other games. They're not mad that Palworld is better they're REALLY mad that Pokemon Company doesn't care if it's games are better. They just push titles out for a yearly releases to match with the card game and merchandise. The merchandise is where Pokemon really makes it's profits. TPC doesn't care if their games are quality or not. The games are just a small percentage of their revenue. The amount of the company makes through Pokemon home alone is enough to offset poor sales. @@teaturtlesuffers what are you running on? Did you make sure that it meets the minimum requirements? Did you try fully shutting down your PC and then starting it back up? Uninstalling and reinstalling? I upgraded my PC before getting the game and haven't run into any issues really. I had a lengthy loading screen once but that was likely because I didn't have enough wifi signal. My in-game day count reset but it's since been fixed. They're working on things at least. Game has only been out for a little over a week and has already had two patches
You forget to mention one thing, you can be absolutely diabolical in Palworld and while I am not asking for pokemon to allow an evil route but having the option to do bad but still choosing to do good, it makes it more meaningful.
So maybe for pokemon you can have easy route or a hard route in it's games one that rewards the player for choosing the harder option.

Just goes to show the pokemon formula has reached such a point of stagnation that anything if they took the formula and switched it up to make it look superior in comparison this is why the gaming industry is dying its because every idea has stagnated due to the safety approach of companies like pokemon.
Now that indie developers are inspired to adopt ideas and switching them up with other ideas its a breath of fresh air and let's face it all these companies playing it safe are afraid.
I really don't think Pokemon company cares. The revenue lost from releasing subpar games is offset by the money generated from Pokemon home. I've seen multiple people say that even though palword does it better, they're STILL going to buy the next Pokemon game regardless. Pokemon is too big to fail, they play it safe because they can. Parents will shovel the games to their kids regardless because it's the safe, kid friendly game.
They make like four times as much through merch sales than with their games. Pokemon won't change because they don't have to
@@zacziggarot Sooner or later pokemon will fall off though, I know not many people know this but management at gamefreak don't focus on improving their own skills and instead rely on contracted workers to do new things however these people aren't focused on making a good game either cuz they assume it will sell regardless and with management getting older sooner or later they will retire and it doesn't appear they are at all focusing on securing the future of the business as a whole and as the OG fans age we see more and more how very unmotivated gamefreak is when it comes to innovation and that unfortunately means they aren't creating the environment to bring it younger and newer fans. However I understand the sentiment that something so meaningful and so big is harder to imagine one day dying and that day is closer than some are willing to admit I don't think Palworld is the Pokemon killer but it's proof that Gamefreak is losing their grip on their main player base when a smaller less funded and less experienced indie development team can make a game that improves upon the same concepts of Pokemon and other genres and see so much success in such a short time and it's pretty sad that a main comparison for why Palworld is better is that it's more fun and has less bugs. I stopped playing pokemon at ruby, sapphire, and emerald. Those three were the best versions of the game series.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The low stakes and low difficulty of Pokemon were tolerable when I was a kid with hardly any game experience, but by now I'm a seasoned player, and I need something out of my games that Pokemon hasn't been able to give me in a long time.
I'm really happy Palworld is as good as it is, only going to get better, and is getting the recognition and success it deserves.
There is not a single encounter in all of palworld that is remotely as difficult as the elite 4. Every boss and tower can be mindlessly cleared if you hit the dodge button within the 5 minutes each attack is telegraphed for. You don't need to care about types, levels, moves, anything. I beat the first tower at like level 10 just with the bow and dodging once in a while and my pals only existed to sit there and tank aggro. Every other boss has been even easier where I need to command my pals to stop attacking halfway through because me and my team are twice the boss's level just from catching pals and crafting, and I don't want to waste time fighting the boss twice. I've only died once and that was because I missed a jump. This is the easiest game I've played in years.

that group you mentioned, the free pal alliance, is unfortunately doing the exact thing they claim to hate right under the leader's nose. If you find and read the journal entries, you find out that the organization needed money to spread the message. When her subordinates started handing over tons of cash, she could only guess how they were getting it but the organization needed the money bad enough that she was forced to look the other way. She's not happy with it but the need for money to spread the message in her eyes is more important than trying to stop a few more pal poachers, even if they are coming from within her own ranks. Things get dark but you never realize just how dark until you dig under the surface and read those journals. And don't even get me started on Marcus... you'll just have to find and read that one for yourself... This game is worth it. From gameplay, to the little bits and pieces of story you get as you try to piece together the mystery of the islands. You can feel the whole thing being a shameless compilation of a bunch of great ideas but isn't that how art and entertainment in general evolve?

I’d like to point out that Gen 1 while it didn’t hold your hand it also didn’t really help you know where to go. For instance if you didn’t know about the secret path in the safari zone you’re just kinda screwed because the game doesn’t really highlight that and it literally hides a mandatory TM.

Pokemon dipped it's toes into dark things but never dared do it again because they didn't need to. That's why pokemon is stale.
The last time we got anything dark was in Sun and Moon when it covered the dark reality of getting older and child abuse. The anime had a doggo pass from old age.
Granted legends Arceus had some dark themes to it with a murderous insane maniac with a god complex and Pokémon not as friendly, but all of this above feels like the exception and not the norm.

The only difference between gen1 Pokémon and the newest game is that the world traversal finally went 3D a couple of years ago and that the games are easier than ever to play and “complete”.
Almost nothing has been added and the franchise is 30+ years old.
You can breed, you have Shinies, natures, a million attacks, new types over the years >> new tactics and type charts, the splitting into physic and special moves... and so on. You didnt play pokemon i guess.
@@isaza5716problem is that most of that stuff either is extra on the side, or doesn’t impact the gameplay in any meaningful way. Sure there’s new tactics, but outside of competitive, you almost never get much of a chance to use them cause of how easy it is to beat. Ur never challenged to use tactics or use moves to set up plays. Sure u could use a swords dance to raise ur attack and sweep, but u could also very easily just spam shadow ball until u win the psychic badge. Heck, other then type ur team composition doesn’t really even matter, there’s no true need for a tank or support or tactician mons, all u need is a strong and fast attacker.
I understand it’s a kids game, but even then, the fact u can go the whole game without catching a single Pokémon should speak volumes about how little of an impact any changes have had to the gameplay.

Pokémon has explained that Pokémon can shrink to fit in the ball. Pokémon also give off a kind of energy that the humans have learned to capture. Humans can’t shrink. So it doesn’t work in the Pokémon world.

The funny thing is the grit pokemon players were searching for in gameplay and lore were already present on dragon quest(the same franchise which Satoshi Tajiri ripped off specifically dragon quest 5), dragon quest monsters and even digimon. Yes, yes, and then some more yes. For over two decades I've been hoping for Pokémon to deliver a game anywhere close to this, and they kept only re-using the same formula, making only occasional, minor, timid changes to pretend like they were keeping up when in reality, they were standing back wilfully because they knew they could, no one dared to challenge them from their golden throne.
Palworld showed up and gave me everything I wanted out of Pokémon, and then some more on top of it with everything I tried in the game. It is pure, undiluted, 100% fun. Pokémon wanted to be safe and profitable at no risk because they thought they had everything to lose. Palworld started with next to nothing and was willing to take a chance, get out of the classic guidelines to make something risky, but wild... and they hit gold. Thank God. Now maybe Pokémon will see... there is value in taking at least a bit of risks and rolling with it.
This is what I wished Pokemon could of been. But instead they abandoned the core players of Pokemon that stood with them since 1999 and chose to sanitize over and over and over again and think it'll last forever. I've given up Pokemon since third gen. And Palworld brought back the child in me. I've been on this nonstop over every game i've got.

Ark vs pokemon who would jave thought that would be possible
Here’s the other point.
Endgame Pokémon isn’t hard, it’s mostly a case of over-tuning your Pokémon by grinding specific things to have your specialist Pokémon able to game-break mechanics that normally CC you out of a fight. 99% of the time that means buff the Pokémon to cap 1-2 stats then spam the associated ability until the enemy faints or swaps Pokémon. It’s basic simply due to the turn by turn, 4 abilities and element-type weaknesses.
Palworld by comparison I’d a third person game with actual combat mechanics and pal team ups that actually make team comp a much more varied aspect. In Pokémon you would have 1-2 utility mins bonding travel/shortcut TMs but palworld locks that into the actual pals (for now) in almost every aspect.
Palworld excels at not being a jrpg like Pokémon the same way Minecraft excels at being a builder game compared to Tetris

Is too much to ask for too for a proper boss battle that doesn’t feel like ur just fighting another trainer? Pokémon is one of the biggest franchises and yet they can’t put out a game that’s triple A level and grow with the audience. I just want a pokemon game that when I walk into a city I can see a wild pokemon going rampant around the streets and send my electivire to stop it without going into a turn based match, not only that but also have engaging gameplay and feel like I’m in the anime. Legends arceus was a step in the right direction but the step was little as shit

Pokémon doesn’t need open world or to be an mmo. or an action combat system. If Pokémon were an mmo, that would ruin Pokémon. Mmos are toxic money grab garbage that don’t respect a players time. Action based combat isn’t better than turn based. In action based it’s hard to see most people getting attached to a monster u hardly see or interact with. They’ll do their own thing while ur doing ur own thing. It also simplified the strategy aspect and only strong Pokémon will be used. We can already see this in Palworld. It doesn’t help that Pals only have attack and defense as stats for combat. Everyone will use only the last 5 pals in the game cause they are the only ones worth using for combat when PvP releases. There is no strategy.
Pokémon doesn’t need an open world, but it’s not bad if it does have one. They can go with or without and still make a great game.

As for action based combat u said “it’s hard to see most people getting attached to a monster you hardly see or interact with” but I fully disagree with that statement especially in palworld the only monsters u won’t see often are the ones working at your campsite, while the ones you use for combat you will always get to see them unless you have a favorite and u only choose 1 for combat(that isn’t a problem since I do that too). In palworld u still get to control your monster and tell it to use certain moves and this is even more so when u can ride them to control them. I also fail to see how this means if Pokémon adapted an action combat formula it would only resort to stronger pokemon being used. what exactly do u define as a strong pokemon? In the pokemon tv show we see ash make everything viable even using pikachu against legendaries or Brock using croagunk against other Pokemon, or even when Alain in pokemon x&y used a bisharp instead of kingambit against goodra and greninja etc so what would you call strong outside of legendaries? what I’m trying to say is the comparison isn’t fair because first palworld doesn’t have evolutions and it also focuses more on getting more/stronger pals, while in pokemon the end goal if u want is to evolve ur main pokemons but also just because it isn’t at its final evolution doesn’t mean it isn’t strong.
Also there’s nothing wrong with turn based combat but in pokemon it really just fails to show the sense of danger and it’s not as engaging since its slow paced and also has boring animations(it also isn’t exciting). besides there’s nothing wrong with trying to want a different combat system when we’ve been experiencing the same thing over and over again, sure it might not take “strategy” but there will still be skill involved and fun for most people, action combat open up alot of possibilities and will even make boss battles feel like boss battles. Who knows tho maybe pokemon will meet a middle ground between turn based and action combat so we can get best of both worlds and have an engaging gameplay
@@dojiio how do u tell ur pals to do moves? I’m only able to do that for the mounted Pals. Otherwise I can only tell them to attack aggressively, attack same target, or to not attack at all.
Strangely I feel more attached to the ones at my base cause I see their expressions more often there lol.
My main argument against Pokémon receiving an action combat formula is that Pokémon would lose the strategy based system it’s known for. I was just stating how it Palworld, the lack of strategy is amplified by the fact it only has 2 stats for combat.
The tv show follows different rules from the games obviously -_- but in Palworld alone, let’s see a cattiva fight an Anubis. And in Pokémon, the only reason it would even be possible to see a first form take down a legendary (like bulbasuar taking down a suicune) is because of that turn based format. Make it action based and that goes right out the window.
Im not sure if i only see certain comments, but Palworld defenders versus Pokemon defenders, Palworld people really get mad when pokemon people say palworld "copied" pokemon.

Also there is something in the game that I never see anybody talking about or even showing, if you kill a pal later another pal gets attracted go to the body and starts to eat it, same to humans body, they just munch them. This is also a way to play the game and create a bait like you do in monster hunter, yeah it is not necessary but if you wanna role play... NPCs said many times people dies left and right in these islands by these monsters so if you see deep down there is a lore about this misterious islands with monsters and it seems on the rest of the world there is not, this is why there are guns and like tanzee who used sticks and stone as weapons until they get in contact with humans and their weapons, kinda same thing the europeans did in the past colonizing other civilizations, using them as slaves and teaching them how to use their modern weapons and work for them to not be in the same level of the others being dominated but still under their power.
(Not defending pokemon nor anything, as I have been playing the hell out of Palworld)

Gen 1-3 is spread throughout the game gen 4’s difficulty is in the champion gen 5 is more balanced throughout the main fights and has a hard mode
Ultra sun and moon is one of if not the hardest main line series game to nuzlocke and its only real competitor is pla with the volo fight

Gen 9 puts more effort into story but most of the difficulty is put into a few of the gym fights and then the final boss

Don't mean to be this guy but Whitney's Miltank was in Gold and Silver released in 1999 not 1997. Also, you mention Palworld has a faction that is against capturing Pals. Pokemon did this in pokemon Black and White in 2010 with Team Plasma who were attempting to "Liberate" Pokemon.

Other than having monsters in it, pokemon and palworld are barely similar at all. Pokemon is an rpg and palworld is an action survival game. If someone wants something to purely be a more mature pokemon game I don't think Palworld is what they would be looking for, they would probably enjoy something more like shin megami tensei or dragon quest. I personally haven't played palworld because I know I don't like that style of survival gameplay.

Ok I gotta be that guy. At 4 and a half minutes you say you haven’t lost a trainer battle since 97 when you got stomped by Misty’s Miltank. This is literally impossible. Pokemon red and blue were not released in the states until 99, and Gold and Silver were not released in the US until 2000. So you had not even won your first trainer battle by 97 unless your parents were importing Japanese game boy games for you.

can we be real tho? pal worlds success is mainly because its associated with pokemon XD... it had less sales week 1 than the most recent pokemon game. 7 million sales week one for Pal VS 10 million sales for week one of S/V (can i also mention S/V was exclusive?). Without apeing pokemon, it would be just another BASIC crafter/ shooter. It's hype, its new, it'll fade. ATM it has WAY too man yeggs in multiple baskets... the pokemon lovers want more mons, shooters want more guns/better gun mechanics. crafters want.. idk what crafters want tbh.. lol.. It will fail because of this lack of direction. With a divided community. Updates will need to cater to one aspect of the game to be frequent, pleasing every side in their community will lead to updates taking longer and the game losing momentum. EVEN popular games like Genshin impact knew this. they more or less gave up on the survival aspect(s) of genshin impact, and stuck to the beat'em up bits goign forward after the 1st year. I give this game 1 year tops. once PvP is released it'll start losing momentum after a month a fade out...
It’s not tho. The battle system sucks. Only good thing is how the environment looks. Pokémon has the same catching mechanics in legends arceus which was worked on at the same time as scarlet and violet. Which is why it’s not seen in those games. And scarlet and violet has a descent open world held back by the hardware.
Pokémon’s battle system, which is the main selling point of Pokémon, is far greater than palworlds. In palworld, it’s not even worth having any monster that aren’t the last 5 since the later monsters are far stronger than any of the earlier monsters.
Palworld isn’t selling because it’s a greater game. It’s selling because it advertised itself as Pokémon with guns and has better graphics.
Pokémon lost the “Pokémon are dangerous monsters” idea ever since the anime became popular and was only brought back with legends arceus. So idk why u even made that point. And Pokémon does have factions where they say Pokémon shouldn’t be used. Literally Pokémon black and white and black 2 and white 2 is literally built around that controversy.

you have to remember its in early access and they plan on building upon pvp which makes me assume the battle system will get better. I don’t see it being more in dept than Pokémon but tbh I’ve had more fun fighting in this game than I have in years battling in Pokémon.

In this game I don’t see how, with what’s currently in the game, the battles can be more fun than in Pokémon. I can also see players dying to a lot of cheese. The sweepa strat is already broke. And end game and legendary pals would be the only one worth using. And maybe the little electric hedgehog since it can be thrown as a shock grenade and freeze grenade
And if players agree to just watch, I can already see how that’s boring and we would also already know which monsters would win before the fight even starts

The game gets attention, because it has cratures that look like pokemon. The game itself is not really that good. Sure it is fun, I actually bought it, but I would not say anything revorutionary, or anything being inproved. It is just a game that copies many other games. Fun... sure, better than pokemon, or any other game it is trying to copy... not.
