Has this got the 1KR-FE in you did the teardown video on last year? I've got a ~140k mile 1KR-B52 in my car and looking to turbo it as well, but wasn't sure if it'd take boost very well this far into its life. I was torn between getting a newer 1KR and turboing that, or swapping a 1.3 or 1.5 Yaris engine in for the extra displacement.
That engine is still in bits for now, waiting on the last bits to arrive and it's getting assembled. Not ideal to boost an engine with mileage that high a lot could be wrong with it, but on the other hand it could not. If I was you I'd get a low mileage engine and boost that, seen stock blocks make 142bhp so far on a baby turbo, God knows what mine will make 😂
Hi 👋 I'm new to your channel but you've caught my interest i can't wait to see the final result. I am considering purchasing the TTS supercharger kit and having it fitted as I am less mechanically inclined and haven't seen anyone explain a turbo set up very well until finding your channel. Can you tell me by placing the turbo where you have stated will it not overheat due to being right under the exhaust manifold. Are you using the stock throttle body? Is an aftermarket ecu required? Can you do a video of the full price breakdown once complete. Any information would be helpful, many thanks for your time and effort in sharing the videos 👍
Hey bro, turbo's are always mounted to the exhaust manifold in conventional setups, I'm using a larger throttle body and standalone ECU, few weeks away from completion just need the last piece to the puzzle🔥🔥
@@Thatsilveraygo thank you for the insight. Once you've have completed the build if you don't mind sharing the costs could you do a video on breaking down the prices please. I have a 2006 aygo but i am thinking of selling it and getting a later model like 2012 or 2013 as mine has the water ingress problem at the back of the car and I cant seem to find where it comes in from so when it rains alot the boot and rear seat bench often get wet and a bad smell is also created due to this.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that gt2871 isn't going to spool on the 1 litre, I had one a few times on 2 litre engines and they come in around 3.5k rpm. Half the displacement= double the rpm, so you'd expect a 7k rpm spool. Which is higher than the 1kr redline.
It's not going to spool before 7k on a 1 litre mate, I'm just trying to help, you'd be better with a much smaller turbo like a Toyota ct9. GT2817 is obsurd for this application, it won't even make positive pressure

Weres the cut out bumper gone ? Bk to standard thankgod ! Oil catcher n all that air hoses have dissapeared ?
That bumper is at home! All the plumbing was removed temporarily, it's back but with a much better setup!

Incroyable bravo
Thank you!
What fuel pump and injectors are you going to use to support the turbo? Have you found anybody to build you a clutch to cope with 200 bhp?
Yep Black Diamond Performance are making me one as we speak, the fuel pump we will try and see where its at

I know the engine is different, and yes it may sound completely different, just a reference video
Can't you remote mount the turbo where the battery is and put the battery in the boot?
It's tricky cus the hot side is at the front and all the coolant hoses go to that side across the front
oooh babyyyy this is awesome
Power
More than one of these should be able to make😂can't wait!
What kind of modifications do you need to make to the engine to take the turbo
For a standard setup nothing internally is needed, seen it done many times
