Los Angeles Lakers-Sacramento Kings 26.2.2004.
As a Laker fan my heart sank every time this dude took a three.
those kings teams were rly good, shame the refs had $$$$ on the lakers multiple years
This guy played like curry without the ball and from the parameter. He lived off screen and splashes threes. Except he didn't have the handles nor was he as fast. But then again his lack of strength and power is what makes him like curry. Imagine if draymond green was here.
Bibby would get screen from green, then decide to pass to green who would either be too fast for shaq outside or too big for Kobe outside and power his way in. If they double him up then he would pass out to bibby or peja and SPLASH
Kings were the original splash dubs
Mike Bibby was a beast in his time
I watched every single game of theirs. This lineup is my favorite all time!!
great teams, great coaches, great rivalry. this was truly a golden age for the West.
It pisses me off that he was never an allstar
Mike Bibby in his prime was a very good pick and roll shooter who could create his shot when he needed to. He averaged over eight assist per game very early in his career when he was the primary playmaker for Vancouver. Bibby and Arenas were very good scoring point guards as well as effective shooters. I actually find it amusing how Gilbert who averaged 29 in '06 was so overshadowed when we see players averaging much less now in the NBA reaching superstar status so easily.
all time fave NBA players
One of the best shooting point guards ever
Mike Bibby is so very underrated, he had so much to his game! I´m a Laker fan, but and should appreciate MBibby might be better than his father (Henry) but similar! L.A Lakers your 2019-20 NBA Champs
Watching his son play right now on shadow mountain basketball team with him as coach !
i wish he still played like this. His decline impacted him very hard.
My favorite Hometown player!!
I remember this game vividly. As a Laker fan I had to go back to high school the following day and face my friends' mouths yepping about how great BiBBY was. I still can't believe this was almost 10 years ago. It makes me feel old.
samething happened to me ...i was in the 9th grade back then feeling old too...lol
so much of that can be attributed to just better zone defenses now. defense got revolutionized because of tom thibodeau. Not to mention there is the every increasing standard of just better athletes on avg. Not saying the best now better than the best then but the average nba player now is definitely better than the average nba player back then.
Much LOVE from NEPAL!!!
mike bibby was a beast.. now he s an old man but very rich i must add with his $80m smackers from sacromento.
Ah the good old times with sac town. With Adelman as the coach passing and screens were keys for the plays. I mean none of them can shake and bake but it was all about the plays and passing(divacs, C-Webb, B-Mill). I think what they lack back then was defense and athleticism.
Should've been an all-star if not for the loaded PGs in the west at the time. Should've been a champion if the refs didn't fix the 2002 WCF.
Bibby's still a legend for those in the know.
Its really too bad he never got to go on to the finals with the kings back in 2002. They deserved it
it was rigged
He did eventually went to the Nba Finals back in 2011 with the Miami Heat but lost to the Mavericks. Ironically, Bibby’s former Kings teammate, Peja Stojakovic, was on the Mavericks that year.
he's 6'2 but he looks so short among all these players!!
Vlade divas great post player
yes
I so do too! Maloofs screwed up that team after 2006 and that was a HUGE mistake on their part.
That hezi pull up doe...
THE 2000-2001 LAKERS DYNASTY WAS A SHAM
I miss this Sacramento team.
The real mr.clutch aka Mike Bibby
I miss this Mike Bibby the Laker Killer
Tough guard
I know this is an old comment but are you saying Bibby doesn't compare to Horry in late game situations or as an overall player?
i saw him at burger king in irvine 2 weeks ago lol
if you havent watched him at the finals through this era, dont say anything. I was a Lakers fan and god his clutch shots were intimidating. He made me to cheer for the Kings as well as Lakers since then.
Im a BEAST
thats why i was asking....threes alone doest make a star though....eventually every pure three point shooter loses his touch. He did, Rashad lewis did, gilbert arenas did, and so on and so forth...
Bibby look like doctor evil.lmaooo
allen had a point when he couldnt make shit too. But he is the best ever at three so.... fisher makes important shots but he is by no means a consistant 3 point shooter. How the hell do you have allen and fisher even in the same sentence?
@SudeDuty
injuries man same wif peja
Trying to think which point guard reminds me of him and I say Damian Lillard.. Dam more athletic, but can score like Mike
Why the Knicks cant get this Bibby, at least 3/4 =((((((((
Man I miss the old kings but right now the new kings look promising.
lol Derek Fisher with hair
ray allen? derrick fisher?
U know this video is old when shaqs wit da lakers kobe doesnt hav an afro and Derek fisher has hair lol
I dont get why Bibby is not good in the KNicks
what a stupid question...he is old now
Kobe tries so hard to be like Jordan its irritating, he has on the elbow band as well as the leg sleeve that jordan wore...smh
norm
nobody wins against father time
wasn;t good at the heat. he's just old now so don't expect too much from him.
so he shoots 3s basically..... he was never really special was he?
I'm a straight Laker fun, but the Kings were cheated off a championship and maybe more.
Why he sucks? Old age? Duh.
he lost passion for the game
mike bibby is more better than jason williams................mike is smarter and better play maker than jason williams.................jason williams is over rated
Jason Williams > Mike Bibby
You're crazy, he was fun to watch. Bibby was a better player though
Jason was fun to watch but had no defense at all and was an average scorer at best. Bibby was all around better and could drain buckets in his prime
+MrDatboi803 I used to think that too, when I was about 9 or 10.
+MrDatboi803 crazy bro... Jason Williams was just flashy.. he was a turnover machine too.. Bibby had all the fundamentals and mentality to be a great point guard.
+Jung Kim to j-will's credit, he stopped being turnover-prone after he was traded to Memphis. I liked both players in their own right but Bibby was definitely the lower risk player.
