As someone from, though not Georgia, but another country that was under Russian/Soviet imperialism, I am so excited you want to learn about this! It's a complex topic and it's so hard to discuss youre problems when people don't know the context at all :"
When I finished The Stationery Shop last month, I literally stared at the wall for an hour and then cried listening to Love of My Life by Harry Styles and When You're Gone by Avril Lavigne lol!! Hope you enjoy it!!
I recently started Pachinko and I do hope to actually finish it as my last book of the year! So far it's been a wonderful read and I adore the writing style. Atlas Six and Thursday Murder Club are series I keep eyeing whenever I'm in the bookstore and think will finally grab soon :3 Loved the whole haul, your videos are always such a great and cozy time, it's like hanging out with a friend
Loved your video!! You are so calming and relaxing to watch 🥰 also, I just put a bunch of these on my wish list - they all sound so good!! Happy Holidays 🎉
I recently ‘acquired’ ‘The Right Sort of Girl’ by Anita Rani, who is a TV Personality and I discovered her through the Netflix UA-cam Channel talking about the British Royal Family. It’s nice to read Non-Fiction sometimes.
I read the Shady Hollow Mystery series and I loved it! The characters maybe animals but the further you get into the series the more human they become.
OK, so Monica, I am literally reading the stationery shop right now and my God it is so good and it’s so funny that you mentioned it because I was literally thinking about you when you were talking about books that you love being somewhat historical and romantic. And then lo and behold there. It is in your hand. Lol you’re gonna love it it’s really good and it’s really sad but really good.
@@cozymonica oh my goodness thank you so much for the reply! I love your videos so much they’re so good. They get me through my days when I’m depressed. Thank you for being a little extra ray of sunshine in my world when I really need it
OMG I LITERALLY STARTED READING THE EIGHTH LIFE ON SUNDAY!!! so far it's so good!! (to anyone interested: do look up triggers tho) Also some books I've recently bought are At Night All Blood is Black which is a novella about a Senegalese man fighting for France in the World War I trenches dealing with the loss of his best friend, Build Your House Around My Body which is a horror/fantasy novel about two Vietnamese women going missing decades apart, and The Red Scholar's Wake which is about a woman being captured by a space pirate fleet and falling in love with the leader of the fleet (who is a woman, we love lesbians in this house). I also pre-ordered Chlorine, a novel about a teenage girl who is a competitive swimmer who wants to be a mermaid and it apparently has some dark and queer twists, so I'm very excited!
And Patchett also wrote another book called Commonwealth and it was pretty interesting you would like it I bet takes place in Florida. I believe in the 50s or the 60s and I enjoyed it for me. I was a bit hard to follow at times but it is very interesting. I would recommend looking up the synopsis.
Love your podcast-the newest episode was super helpful! I’ve heard really good things about Bel Canto, excited to hear your thoughts when you get to it :)
Omg Dark Rise! Loved it. But I am a fan of CS Pacat. I recommend her Captive Prince trilogy, which is an m/m fantasy (tw for slavery). I am hoping Dark Rise becomes m/m too. I recently acquired some BL manga, and some more MXTX danmei novels. Also recently ordered the Story Thieves MG series.
you mixing middlemarch up with middle game just gave me the hilarious image of George Eliot writing portal fantasy😭 like yes silas Marner but hetty is a child from another world lol
I agree with the cover for alone with you in the ether, and whilst there are (in my opinion) pros and cons to each cover of the atlas six, i will say the newly published one feels more accurate to the story than the self-published one (if that makes sense) however I do wish the cover was as intricate in style as the self-published one :) I personally love the atlas six and it blew my mind too ahaha. Have yet to read the second but its highly anticipated! 🤍 Edit: yes i agree with the overhype of the novel. However i think that any novel when gone in with high expectations usually is met with disappointment, thats why i never go in with any expectations and prefer to go in blind (unless trigger warnings are involved). A lot of people dislike how pretentious it sounded, but as someone who had experience with highly competitive academic settings…you’d be surprised how accurate some of the aspects were. The dynamics between the characters honestly i’ve seen in real life 💀. I did read it before the hype of it reached me, and i read the newly published version in full (i started the self-published one and had to dnf).
I have the eighth life in its original language, german, and my hardback edition has like biblical paper lol.. there are 1280 pages. I have it for 6 years now and still haven’t read it. It’s so intimidating
18:51 I’m totally being that person who corrects people but it’s ‘Ayenday’, not ‘Allenday’. I apologise if being that person. Also, the movie has no Latiné actors.
I give u full permission to love Damon Salvatore. He is fictional!!!! 😂 it harms no one in earth to love even a problematic character (Stefan was just as bad anyway)
Tor is so bad at redesigning covers for the indie books they publish. The new covers for A Dowery of Blood and Legends and Lattes are so much worse than the indie covers.
My god u are the only UA-camr that I could find who makes cozy aesthetic videos!subscribed and just added a bunch of those books to my wishlist🩷🩷🩷
Omg so much Monica content this week BLESSSSSS
I love your style so so much, I’d love to see another look book or something if you’re comfortable with it 💕
ahh ty! 💞 i def hope to post one again! i also post a bunch of fashion content on ig and tiktok if you’re on there at all
10:52 As London Tipton would say: “Yay me!”
I finished reading the remarried empress and I'm obsessed! I haven't read the novel so I'm so excited to read it.
same i love it sooo much
Just finished Love and Other Words this week and absolutely loved it! It was such a sweet romantic story! 🥰I hope you like it!

I don’t know if you’ve seen the new adaptation of ‘The Invisible Man’ which starred Elisabeth Moss. It’s so scary.
I love The Remarried Empress!!
Me too!! ❤
omg yesss my people! it’s consumed me ahaha
I’ve subscribed to your Podcast. The cover art is so delightful 👏🏽

The Remarried Empress is sooo good! I read the first season on webtoon and just ordered a physical copy as a little Christmas gift for myself 😁
I really want to get to reading the whole of ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ Series. APPARENTLY, there might be an adaptation.
The Vampire Knitting Club....loved it. A cozy
A Yonder/Webtoon sponsorship?! Amazing!!! Way to go, Monica!! That’s awesome 🙂
When you showed The Eighth Life my jaw dropped lol I expected something like A Little Life, but that's basically A BRICK
I read Bel Canto years ago and I still think about it! I hope you enjoy it😊 It also has a movie adaptation.
Super off topic, where’d you get that beautiful lamp!? Also, love the vid, the books and you’re so beautiful and cute 🥰
Thank you for introducing Yonder! I’m completely addicted. Lol.
I would love to see that Seanan McGuire reading vlog! 💕
HAHA I’m living for the title because it’s not a mood, it’s a lifestyle.

@@cozymonica I hope you'll enjoy them if you do pick them up!! it'd be cool to see them show up in a future video 💖

You should make a GRWM video , your makeup is so cute💕
i have a few on tiktok if you’re on there! 💞
You are going to fly through The eighth life. It’s big, but so good!!!!
Love your podcast-the newest episode was super helpful!
I’ve heard really good things about Bel Canto, excited to hear your thoughts when you get to it :)
I’ve had Dark Rise on my TBR for so long now 👀
The Eighth Life is one of my all-time favorite books!! I read it in a week, lol, so don’t be too intimidated. It’s a very fast read!
The Eigth Life is so so good. It took me forever to read because of its size, but it was totally worth it! I hope you enjoy it 🥰
I also bought the stationary shop local. ❤️

I am still trying to hunt down the pre-Tor Alone With You in the Ether because it is so much better

I'm reading a book on the yonder app and love it.

I love The House of Spirits ((:
Noooo In My Dreams I Hold a Knife is my worst book of the year 😂
I love House of the spirits ❤❤❤
I have the eighth life in its original language, german, and my hardback edition has like biblical paper lol.. there are 1280 pages. I have it for 6 years now and still haven’t read it. It’s so intimidating
I still haven’t finished ‘The Unhoneymooners’ by Christina Lauren.
Just a little side note, Isabel Allendes last name is pronounced like a-yen-de 😁💜
❤️❤️❤️❤️
‘The Remarried Empress’ sounds like ‘Anna Karenina’ minus the husband having an affair.
girl, its a problem we share
I believe Court of the Vampire queen is veeery spicy and reverse harem, LGBTQ!
18:51 I’m totally being that person who corrects people but it’s ‘Ayenday’, not ‘Allenday’. I apologise if being that person. Also, the movie has no Latiné actors.
thank you so much for letting me know! 💗
4:10 I have a big word for this: Anthropomorphic.
omgg yessss! i was trying to think of this word for so long and gave up ahah ty!
