In some states where it's legal for a child to marry an adult, the age of consent for s*x doesn't apply. It's sick that in the eyes of the law if they are married, that the adult isn't considered a s*x offender or predator. Just an FYI. You have to have a JUDGE AND PARENT consent to marry under the age of 16 (in Michigan which is where this episode is taking place) also just because they're married the age of consent for sex(again in Michigan) is 16. So yes dude could get into trouble. She is under the age of consent period married or not.
An exception would be made for age of consent if they were married. They aren't going to charge a spouse with statutory rape. There is also a general exception for age of consent if the two parties are within 5 yrs of age of each other (depending on the state). So an 18 yr old and 15 yr old would not likely be prosecuted as statutory rape despite the 15 yr old being below the age of consent and the 18 yr old being an adult.
@@Karamarika I get they have age gaps allowed by the amount of years are between y'all. But yes they can go after a husband for statutory if they want. Here is a 'summary' of Choriocarcinoma: Choriocarcinoma is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that can affect the uterus, ovaries, or testicles. It usually develops from cells that are part of the placenta during pregnancy, but it can also occur in people who are not pregnant. Choriocarcinoma can spread quickly to other parts of the body, such as the lungs or brain. A 14-year-old could get choriocarcinoma if they have a germ cell tumor, which is a type of tumor that arises from the cells that produce eggs or sperm. Germ cell tumors can affect the ovaries testicles, and sometimes other organs. Some germ cell tumors, such as endodermal sinus tumors (yolk sac tumors) and choriocarcinoma, are more common in young females. The exact cause of germ cell tumors is unknown, but some risk factors include genetic disorders, exposure to certain chemicals, and previous radiation therapy. Choriocarcinoma is very rare, so it is unlikely that a 14-year-old would have this condition. However, if they have symptoms such as abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, chest pain, coughing, or seizures, they should see a doctor as soon as possible. Choriocarcinoma can be treated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery, depending on the stage and location of the tumor. Most cases of choriocarcinoma are curable with treatment.

Here in the UK, the age of consent for sex is 16. And to get married is 18. And that’s for the whole country. Why is it different from state to state in the USA ? And doesn’t it get confusing if, for example, you travel from one state where marriage at 14 is allowed, but then holiday in one where it isn’t. Would you then be breaking the law ?
Tbh i never understood that as someone who lived and Visited multiple countries. Amercia is treating itself like multiple completely different countries rather than 1 whole country I was already disgusted with the extremely low age of consent law in germany BUT WTH AMERCIA??☠
In federal law can a minor make a binding legal contract? Can the parents make a contract with another adult regarding their child? Is that not slavery? Is marriage not a contract in the USA?
My question is what happened to marrying older women and having children with them , I was so pissed off watching this even tho I knew it was a movie and to think this is happening in real life , let’s forget about USA it happens in NIGERIA especially in the Hausa tribe where they marry off 12 year old girls to old men and they see it as nothing. There was a day I was buying groceries at the market and one Hausa trader was asking me why I don’t have a husband at my age , I was like wtf
I just looked it up as well for where I live and it says: This law sets the minimum age for marriage at 18 years, without exception. It also provides that marriages contracted abroad can be annulled by a judge if the partners had not reached the age of majority at the time of the marriage. And I’m honestly happy about that
it kinda hurts me because in several states this is normal. take for example, Africa, Malawi. it is normal to marry off your daughters. it happens a lot more then you think. young girls at the age of 9-15 maybe, and older as well, get married off for money, but this is most for the people there who don’t have much money. they sell their daughters off for money, or one less child to feed. however, rich families don’t really need to sell off their daughters. and, there’s mostly only girls who get married off, normally not boys. but boys can still sadly get married away, mostly girls though. the world can me cruel.
I am so thankful to God everyday that I was not born in the US. As a kid I used to fantasise the US and studying there, living there but now? You can NOT send me to study or live there even if you bribe me
In my religion god made forced marriages forbidden, so parents cant force their children to marry without their will. God knew this will happen and made it a law and who forces marriage on people will get punished.

she could not Be pregnant at 10 or 11 except maybe she got her period when she was younger, but her being pregnant even though she’s 14 scares the hell out of me
That doesn't even make sense. Even if you marry a literal child that doesn't make the law that you can't have sex with someone under 18 disappear wouldn't the marriage just be two people not having sex. The marriage doesn't mean you can just rape a 14 year old.
A 14 year old can’t be a wife. She’s a victim.

I watched this episode and literally wanted to break the TV 🤬🤬🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🙄 So disgusting how is this ok anywhere??!! 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮
What's the name of the show and what episode
@@christiechidinma5829 I can’t remember what episode but the show is called “Chicago Med” !
@@christiechidinma5829 The name of the show is Chicago Med. im not sure what episode though.
@@lee_yeet_felix4974 ok thank you 🥰
Because males are the ones making the laws and majority of predators are male. No surprise there.
😂 You make these shows so much more interesting 😃 That was both hilarious and horrifying.

For all the people unaware. This is a scene from a popular soap opera. I can’t remember the name but the series has a fire department counterpart as well as a police department counterpart.
chicago med
Wow
This isn’t a soap opera
It is not a soap opera. It is a medical drama called Chicago Med produced by Dick Wolf(of law and order).
it must have been so uncomfortable to play this role
I absolutely love your videos.. I get excited every time I see a new one is up... you might just be my favorite UA-cam creator... keep up the great work you're killing it! 😘
The only reason I know this is because I got pregnant early and when I gave birth I was over the age of consent (not over 18) and my dude was still under the age of consent (when I got preggo we were both under the age of consent) and while I was laying in the room giving birth I had to talk with LEO regarding the situation. I mean I will say it probs is a case to case basis and most of the time the spouse will get away with it. But they still CAN charge you. Conviction is something different
@@beepboopbeep4801 so, you weren't charged. Someone just called the cops and they asked you questions. That's not at all the same thing. That just supports what I said.
@@Karamarika I wasn't charged because I got preggo before I was above the age of consent so they had absolutely nothing to go on. Had I gotten pregnant after the age of consent they would have charged me.
@@beepboopbeep4801 and you were married? If you were married, then of course they would not charge you. I don't believe they would have charged you either way, but I also don't think you were married. So we are apparently comparing apples and oranges here.
I still remember when you were at 10k and i was like wtfthis guy needs waayyy more subs. Now look at you 😭🥳🤩we love you layze
I'm 46 now. I got married at 14 because my momma signed papers for me to marry a 19 year old. I asked her to and she did. No way would I do the same for my 14 year old. Well she's my youngest and is 15. I wish the state never allowed that. STUPID... Just like emancipation. Hell, I think someone 44 years old is about the age to consent to marriage
Oh. I'm in South Carolina.
seems fake but alr
@@ilovesaiki.notyou no. It's true. I had my first daughter at 16. I was pregnant on my sweet 16 birthday. She was born July 28, 1993. I was born May 10, 1977. My mom signed a piece of paper that granted me the right to marry at 14. I got married the day before I turned 15. I know people lie on here but Google it if you don't believe me. It's a part of my life I wish never happened but then I wouldn't have my amazing daughter so something good did come out of ot
I feel bad for the girl and the parents are bad parents and the judge who signed this is evil and you can tell that this girl doesn't want to be married especially to this pedo guy
Oh damn you just slammed me! We Don’t all talk like that to patients! But a lot of MDs do!! 😊
But unfortunately you’re right. I was in west africa After my residency, i can tell u stories that will make you very Angry. From FGM to 8 year old married and pregnant children.
And we were in someone else’s country, their rules. It was very difficult to even get them in for any treatment and the husbands have all the say. I am talking about 70 year old men, married to 9 yr old children. And FGM is ramped. I am an MD in epidemiology and I’m a virologist , i went into DWB to work in west Africa with ebola, monkey pox. Rare disease and viral infections. I never expected the horrors i experienced.
May God bless you and I'm sorry for the horrors you have seen. Thank you for your service ❤
Daily reminder that countries around the world had to set a legal age limit bc males wanted to marry kids
IT SAID THAT IN NEWHAMPSHIRE ITS LEGAL AT 13 FOR GIRLS AND 14 FOR BOYS. we need to do something.
Not anymore, thankfully!! In 2018, they finally raised the marriage age to 16 for both boys and girls. However, I think they should have raised it to 18 years old, but I don't think we'll see that in our lifetimes...
It’s giving a series of unfortunate events
It’s giving count Olaf
It’s giving marvellous marriage
Btw marvellous marriage is the name of the book I’m not saying it was a good marriage
omg this book series traumatized me
It's sad because the age of consent in the state I live is sixteen. I'm already terrified enough knowing some countries have the age of consent moved to 14
And this is why we have pedophelia issues. This is sick if it’s legal.
Just got home from some stressful shopping. I love these videos.😂
In this kind of scenarios you are no longer a mandatory reporter, you have the right to assault the bastard.
I live in America, AND THIS IS TERRIFYING. I feel sorry for that poor girl. I wish she didn’t have to go through all of that. How could her father ACTUALLY consent to her getting married at 14?
It brightens my day when you post a video!
So I just found you and I’m so happy I did! You’re so funny. I love your personality and sense of humor.
WAIT….. BRO THIS IS LEGAL??!

as a minor, this is fucking terrifying
Here is a 'summary' of Choriocarcinoma:
Choriocarcinoma is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that can affect the uterus, ovaries, or testicles.
I just love the way layze tell the story of each one he finds amazing 😅
Im a 13 year old and this is also normalised in my country, some kids in my school are already married... disgusting..
My grandmother also got married at 14-15 (grandpa was like 19-10)(moms' side)
god this makes me sick. i can only imagine what those poor girls go through
I don’t know why people are acting like this only happens in America, it ranges EVERYWHERE
After I first saw this episode I researched it and no it's not everywhere, only in a very small number of countries is this even a possibility and in a lot of those though legal its rare, its illegal in most countries
As a Nigerian 😭
This is happens
Age is just a number

Here in the UK, the age of consent for sex is 16. And to get married is 18. And that’s for the whole country. Why is it different from state to state in the USA ? And doesn’t it get confusing if, for example, you travel from one state where marriage at 14 is allowed, but then holiday in one where it isn’t. Would you then be breaking the law ?
Tbh i never understood that as someone who lived and Visited multiple countries.
Amercia is treating itself like multiple completely different countries rather than 1 whole country
I was already disgusted with the extremely low age of consent law in germany BUT WTH AMERCIA??☠
@@4crystical129 I can’t believe they can marry at 14 in some states. I mean, I have clothes older than that lol
Lmao... That was my reaction when I found that out. Brain BROKE.
In federal law can a minor make a binding legal contract? Can the parents make a contract with another adult regarding their child? Is that not slavery? Is marriage not a contract in the USA?
Civil
That 14 year old looked scared as hell from that insane husband of hers.
The real ending is when she comes home from her surgery to her "husband". I dare them to show that
The way he said "boil blood" got me crylaughing 😭😭😭
I just looked it up as well for where I live and it says:
This law sets the minimum age for marriage at 18 years, without exception. It also provides that marriages contracted abroad can be annulled by a judge if the partners had not reached the age of majority at the time of the marriage.
And I’m honestly happy about that
Unfortunately, it is legal in some states.
THE SIDE EYE FROM THE LADY DOCTOR IN THE VIDEO WAS KILLING ME 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The FBI will be tracking you now after that google search! 😂😂😂
"Why don't you take a seat over there for me?" ~ Chris Hansen
I WAS SO RELIVED THAT ITS CHICAGO MED, ITS A TV SHOW…!
it kinda hurts me because in several states this is normal. take for example, Africa, Malawi. it is normal to marry off your daughters. it happens a lot more then you think. young girls at the age of 9-15 maybe, and older as well, get married off for money, but this is most for the people there who don’t have much money. they sell their daughters off for money, or one less child to feed. however, rich families don’t really need to sell off their daughters. and, there’s mostly only girls who get married off, normally not boys. but boys can still sadly get married away, mostly girls though. the world can me cruel.
Should I call 911 for you 😂😂😂😂
That’s scary that she had to go through that I’m 14 years old 😢
I love your channel so much your mad im 70 year old i would love for a grandson God bless you

If they are over the age of legal consent, then no one has the right to indulge
It’s so sad that some older men actually have relationships with younger girls
I am so thankful to God everyday that I was not born in the US. As a kid I used to fantasise the US and studying there, living there but now? You can NOT send me to study or live there even if you bribe me
Layze: you know u can use this new product that’s called a hairdresser and u can shove it up your-
Best part ever at the end 🤣
In my religion god made forced marriages forbidden, so parents cant force their children to marry without their will. God knew this will happen and made it a law and who forces marriage on people will get punished.
Welcome to the Law & Order universe :) Chicago Med is basically a spin-off... I love crime dramas but sometimes you can see some really messed up shit

That doesn't even make sense. Even if you marry a literal child that doesn't make the law that you can't have sex with someone under 18 disappear wouldn't the marriage just be two people not having sex. The marriage doesn't mean you can just rape a 14 year old.
