This theme with the various villagers chanting somehow made one of the best setpieces in video games even better. I've never felt so thoroughly satisfied with a game before. This is like The Thing of remakes for games.
Kinda fitting. In the old fight, the villagers gave up after a set amount of time, despite being "a mindless horde", which gave them a sense of self preservation that didnt fit a hivemind. In this one? These villagers will literally pile on one another to get to you, no matter how many fall in front of them, the ones behind will march towards gunfire, uncaring about self preservation. You will most likely run out of bullets and willpower before half of them fall. The chanting also sold that they are a unity of thought, so noone will flee, doubt or surrender, they are all prepared to die for the sole purpouse to get to you. So when you do manage to escape, its due to luck and desperation. If wasnt for those, they would have eventually succeeded.
A very aptly put comparison you've got here. I personally feel like the remake did a much better job of conveying the Ganados as mindless drones serving what they believe to be a higher power. The chanting in unison really drove it home.
@@derekcwly they also managed to show how the las plagas might be even more threatening than the t virus.
