    Kali sword fighting migjt had
been used by Filipino natives to repel Ferdinand Magellan. Then Spaniards came back and used rifles and canons .

It would have looked drastically different at the time, but the people who did that certainly continued to evolve the art into what we see today.

Not true. Don't spread false history. According to diary of Pigafetta, the Filipino natives lauched arrows towards the crew of Magellan in which he got hit. Then the natives when close to him to hack him to death.

Kali.. the American term for the Filipino stick fighting arts . If one ask around in the Philippines about Kali.. they'll probably get a queer look.. but if they ask about arnis escrima baton garrote or any local names for Filipino stick fighting arts .. that will be familiar . and recognizable . It's just a name and doesn't diminish the effectivity..

Who said in my mind, or on the wind that Stephen Segal is doing a Jitsu and Bourne is doing sword hand, or Aikido? Assasin intuits kinetic intensity. Just trying to find my way.

Segal is a 8th or 9th degree master of Aikido. It was never intended to be an offensive fighting style. It's purely a defensive art with emphasis on disarming an opponent and using hand and arm locks to reduce an opponent to submit....

The video is not all that helpful if you don’t either do a slow motion playback or better yet a step by step break down.

It's a highlight video. Not a tutorial. So I don't think it serves the purpose you'd want it to, but the same could be said for many martial arts videos.
