13:56 very interesting, i never even heard of “clear base coat”, always thought clear was clear coat, and base coat was the color coat
I have a renewed love for vtuned's videos over the past few months.
Ben I think Paul did an outstanding job painting the Challenger! Plum Crazy, Shaker Hood & Pistol Grip manual trans how cool is that! To me that is almost a perfect spec for a Challenger! Well done Guys and I am looking forward to seeing this on all finished up!
I’m glad you’re still keeping the videos coming. Most of the other UA-camrs I watch that are car rebuilds are a little slow at the moment. Keep up the good work 👌🏻👌🏻
Paul is an absolute Boss at painting 😎
He is better than 95% of the paint guys I have taken my cars to when the bumper and hood needs a refresh. Especially the chain paint shops.
If you're a automotive painter, the goal is to become as good as Kandy Man himself. And Paul is right up there with the best like him.
I’m an old guy (60+) and my next door neighbor was a paint and body guy who worked on cars at a shop during the day and then did some really nice jobs at his home shop on nights and weekends. Most of the time he used lead for dents and dings he couldn’t hammer and dolly out and used a little bondo occasionally. But it was the painting process that’s really different. You had primers but then he used many coats of lacquer sanding between them. He worked his ass off to get the finish that a modern multi layer clear coated paint job has. Until he started doing metal flake, candies, and such. Then you could really see depth in the paint but only after a dozen or more coats. The time it took was mind boggling by today’s standards.
Great show. Don't forget that dust mask when doing your body work even if body work is small . Now finish the custom stang . Put it in the corner and do a little bit at a time . Before long you will have a one off badass machine. Take it to Sema next year!
Superb paint job (even though you said at the end that's a wrap!! 😄) Can't wait Ben to see the finished item. Keep up the hard work. Cheers and greetings from the UK, Bob
Say we sanded and washed cause ya lil bruther is young gifted man that needs sum acknowledgement for helping each channel out. Tight family can conquer the best and worst other humans throw your way. Now nature is truly a beast that will and can challenge at a moments notice
I’m so glad Paul is using the right PPE. as young guys, you don’t realize what the long-term effects of bodywork, dust and paint will do to your lungs.
.. and what the acetone will do to a BRAIN ('de-grease' it, basically). Be careful!
Clear paint is really bad for you if you breathe it ..
Purposely breathing in any paint or dust for that matter is obviously not good for you . But none of that stuff will do anywhere near as much damage to your overall health as stress does . It's like the warning labels on cigarette packages , smoking will lead to blah blah blah . The fact is smoking isn't good for you , but unless you're a hypochondriac most of the things they claim will happen because of cigarettes is just bovine defecation . Mind over matter and the placebo effect , play a huge role .
@@JerryHenderson72 I'm sure your misguided and uninformed opinion will be great comfort to the families of the eight million people who died an early death last year because of smoking tobacco.
Miss the dent drivers side near hood pin still on point
Nice work Ben---it looks great! Shout out to your brother Paul, for that great paint job!
Nice to see Paul back. he is a fantastic sprayer a master class addition to the team.
Thanks, Ben, for doing something for us MOPAR fans, we don't get much love from channels like yours. I always enjoy your videos. God Bless!
missed a dent right behind that l/h hood pin hole 😬 nice job overall though!
I don't know how he missed it...
I really enjoyed watching the base coat go on. What a great color!
You have a BEAST inside your garage!!!Greetings from Portugal!!!
Fantastic job on bodywork and all other work Ben. Stellar paint work Paul. If your keeping that car for yourself please change out those
black wheels. It looks like it’s dressed in a tux and wearing dirty boots. The new heritage Swinger has the same in silver or chrome. 😊
Great to see Paul again . Ben the colour is awesome. Well done guy's.
Just a Question, why wouldn't you replace the windshield first? I don't know how to do body work so I was just wondering. I think you and your brother's videos are the best.
Paul is spot on!!!!
Great work Ben !
Are you planning to add a set of Demon Flares sometime later?
Looks really good, but I gotta tell ya, that matte purple looked amazing! Good stuff.
Keep the good work up from Great Britain from DEAN FRAIN 😮
That clear coat looks like it lays down good!! Great goob guys!!
You missed the small dent next to the driver's side hood pin.
Looking very good, you’ve done an amazing job so far. I do have to ask though because my OCD goes bananas, is that blinking yellow light above that garage door doing for a specific reason or because you’ve just not gotten around to replacing it. Just curious lol
Plum Crazy in matt would look great on this car. Keep up the great work and keep those videos coming.
Car came out amazing, did not expect no less.your talent just keeps coming thru every time you touch another vehicle.great video, just continue doing what your doing and on to the next.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Missed a dent by the ds hood pin... when you do body/paint, I can't miss seeing that kind of stuff lol. Car looks good.
You might hate doing body work, but from what I've seen you are really good at it. Look at that quarter panel you did a while back instead of replacing it and it came out like it was replaced.
You know shit
That color on that car POPS.... You have to keep that one for personal use. Great job as always.
Awesome. Don't mis the small dent next to hood pin. 4:04
Haven't seen Paul for ages.
Great to see you in the old shop again.
You are diligent when it comes to body repair
Hey mate love your work no being picky but noticed a small dent near your driver's side hood pine .keep up the great work cheers mate
Paul "the Maestro" is in the HOUSE...guaranTEED top paint job.
Hey Ben you need your own paint booth and what an amazing job you are doing, Keep up the good work mate
Beautiful color your wright would look nice in matte finish keep posting tim
I saw your using affordable 2k. I tried the upol 2k and it’s was about the same. I will also share a tip, use fast act with some accelerator and it makes it great for small spots that get just a couple coats. Would not use the accelerator for a big fat filler primer coat though. 😎
Paul coming in with that excellent paint job!
Looks sweet! You knocking them out with a quickness! First the Tremor, now the Challenger!
They both were fairly light rebuilds the worse part was the frame on the Tremor and having to swap everything over. The rest of it wasn't that much damage. I wouldn't be afraid of ether of those rebuilds and having a R title on the Tremor. This car has a clean title so when he goes to sell it I don't even think he has to disclose that it had to be repaired. It should have a high resale value.
Ben Great job.. quick and easy. Stay safe and be well. God Bless
I really like that purple base without the clear coat. Maybe a satin clear for the entire car would look pretty sweet 👍🏻 Really nice work on the car though 🫵🏻👍🏻😁
Stealth ppf is better. Matte paint is a bitch to maintain
@@JStryker7 good call 👍🏻
Awesome I admire your efforts and work ethics at such a young age. Good job 👏
Think you hit a home run on this one and a big thanks to Paul, awesome job ben doesn't get any better 👍👍👍
I have to admit the best job I’ve ever done was working as a mechanic but i got sick and couldn’t do it anymore. So watching your videos i can live vicariously thru it. I Just wanna say thanks for doing what you do 👍
You must not of been a flat rate tech who got screwed by warranty repairs.
It's looking great. Love watching you and your brothers work together
It's great to see your videos my boy, you always do a good job! God bless.
Wish I had one of those 3M positive pressure supplied air hoods when I was first starting metal fabrication. They are costly but well worth it and I still would like to get one for sanding, cutting tile and stone and so on.
glad paul painted it!!! nice job though v !
I love the shiny finish but the satin finish looks amazing 👍👍
You are killing it with the content dude you seem alot happier repairing crash damaged cars and it shows big time
Great job guys 👍 what kind clear coat you use for?
Man that thing is slick as snot. You don't half do anything. Thanks!
That was pure therapy for me as he was painting. Keep up the great work!
As much as you help the Goonzquad guys with frame work, they should be letting you use their nice new paint booth. Hell, even doing the painting for you. Seems fair to me.
I thought the same thing but maybe it's to far or just quicker and easier to do it there
Paint job looks stunning brother, ace work!👍🦾👌🏈🇿🇦
Driver side door looks a bit cloudy, maybe purple paint coverage wasn't good enough there?
that is just plumb crazy sickness! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Excellent work, Ben. Challenger is looking too good. Lovin your channel more and more.
The Challenger looks AMAZING ! Love the Mopar style !
looks fantastic, what do you do about the edges of the Hood and wings that you can't paint when it's closed ? surely you will see the difference when you open the hood !
Looks good! What paint / clear did you use?
Great work Ben, question 🙋 what happen to the free corvette?
Nice one Ben keep up the work.
Paul is genting good at painting 😂
This was a good turnaround vehicle. I would like to see some painted graphics .
Coming together well. Can't wait for the final outcome
There is a ding by the drivers side hood pin but maybe the pin cap might cover it . Seen it with the light while the camera was panning across the hood .
Ben!!!! As others have mentioned, please wear some PPE when sanding. Those fine dust particles are too fine to see with the naked eye and will cause some pretty fucked up long term damage. Amazing video as always!!!
Been waiting to see this thing painted looks so good
happy holidays to v tunes staff.........your awesome
That painting job is kicking ass =)
looks goood sept for the dent just above the Left hood pin
I'm loving your content man!! Thanks for sharing.
You and your family should invest in a large warehouse or shop complex and divide the businesses up this way u are close together and can help each other and bounce around as needed
Looks awesome machine😊
Looks great in mat
Great content. Loving the channel. Nice project.
Ben, you do amazing work. Always enjoy your content!

You do some sick bodywork mate, don't tell us you don't love it! Love the videography as always.
Looks great, Love the color
Well done Ben and Paul! LOOKS FANTABULOUS!👏🍻.
You finally found the missed primer spot. 😂😅 Great job on this car. ❤❤
Missed a dent on DS hood pin.
Do a shot every time he takes off the front bumper fascia.
Being a Dodge person, I love this car, and it's color, and the pistol grip shifter, etc..
Always a pleasure
Good stuff brother keep it up.
every video is better, great edition
paul layed down some glass, good work!
Beautiful color man. I love it.
Missed a dint near left hood pin
Hello
Yeah I saw that also...
What's a dint
Don't worry the hood pin assembly will hide it
I do PDR and those little dents left after the car is painted make me a lot of money. 5 minutes is all I need to fix that perfectly
