      Just a heads up, people with disabilities often really dislike being called “inspirational”. Obviously you mean well, but it’s like calling anyone inspirational for just living their life regularly, it feels kind of weird. Hope that makes sense! :)

    • @JustsomeSteve
      @JustsomeSteve Рік тому +151

      It's easy to say it's inspirational, mostly out of pity.
      But you would have done the same because you have no choice other then try your best with the new circumstances. Just wait, most of us will eventually meet a life changing illness and we all have to live with it. And it can be brutal. That's what you don't see because nobody shows their weakest points. I know I live with a life changing illness since 2009 and it's hard and kinda destroyed my life but what can I do other than try my best. And you would do the same. So if she is inspirational to you, just know that you do have the same strength in you. Just hope it will never get tested by life.

    Suspected it was her immediately after seeing her, after seeing her body language and positioning compared to the other people, I was 85% sure. Although the other contestants couldn't see any of that.
    Knew it was her 100% After she started describing Raneryas dress and the dragon in such specific detail, no sighted person would have described it like that. She likely heard those specific descriptions either in detailed captioning for HOTD or the original book.

    I, as a person with low vision, appreciate this. The minute people find out i’m blind they go straight to, “oh you’re so smart and an inspiration”, when i’m just trying to live my life.
    It took the sighted people to be uncontious of who the blind person was to treat her as an equal. She and many others just happen to be blind and we’re just trying to live our lives. I am not an inspiration, i’m not overly talented at walking around, i’m just a teenager trying to get into college.
    I don’t want this to sound antagonistic, but it’s the reality that myself and many others are experiencing. Our eyes shouldn’t be seen as signs for autism, or mental delays. To a sighted person it may look like i have to work harder, and in some cases that’s true, but to me this is my normal.
    Sorry for my awful spelling

    I like odd one out a lot more when the mole has never been a part of the other group. It just feels too easy when say an atheist grew up Christian or a blind person was seeing for most of their life. It’s more fun when the mole knows nothing and has to do a lot of research to know the niche things the group might know like the fan ones. Also this would be way more interesting with blind people and one seeing person because the seeing person would never know what it was like to be blind

    one thing that i noticed about the mole was that she said "my cat is hairless" and not "i have a hairless cat". While these two statements don't seem very different from eachother, if you look at the cultural context of hairless cats, people notice a cat missing its hair on sight while "my cat is hairless" sounds like a statement made after discovering the cat is hairless via some evaluation (such as upon touching/feeling it).
