You should have wired it to a switched power source in case you accidentally left them on when the key is out. You could drain your battery. Though great to know about the headlight switch interchange. Ford did the same thing with cruise control in the 2nd gen focus where it was a new steering wheel plug in and play setup.
I actually didn’t mention, I added an inline fuse to the ignition so I have a safety just in case. I’ve done that in the past to vehicles and have regretted it haha
Bummer you can't wire those fog lamps through the headlight switch. Were there any blank pins in the connector? Perhaps a connector for an XLT? Were you able to find a wiring diagram? I will be doing the same thing to my 2012 XLS soon plus blacking out my front end. It would be great to know all the dead ends you encountered so I can avoid them. Thanks for a great video!
