Step 1, remove entire front half of vehicle.
😅 I was sweating just watching!
I just finished this job. Putting it back together was like putting a jigsaw puzzle back together. Hours total with only about 15 minutes changing the headlight assembly. I removed the wheel and it was definitely worth the time and effort, jacking up the car to do it.
Great video explaining the process. It's amazing how complicated they've made it compared to other makes I've done in the past.
So just start by stripping the car down to the frame?? Got it!
Thank you for the video, it made the process as easy as it could be all things considered. I was able to swap out my headlights in about an hour or so. 👍
00:59 "ok i'm paying someone to do this "
I hope the engineer that decided how this headlight should be replaced got fired. WTF???
Fords brilliant engineering on this one.... Ridiculous!
It’s crazy
I'm afraid most newer vehicles are like this now
I just installed my headlights without removing the bumper. You need to remove the three bolts that are accessible holding the headlight in place. And then also detached the wiring, The furthest under the wheelwell light, can be reached by unsnaping some of the wheel well trim, and reaching in to disconnect or replace the light. Once everything is disconnected except for the both under the bumper, lift up on the whole housing snaping the plastic peiced holding the bolt under the bumper. I replaced my housing with cool ones, but my originals were actually still good. Replace the three bolts and it will be held in place
+@ryanlaitsch1912 Thanks for the feedback!
Insane how difficult and labor intensive changing the headlamps is.
I wonder if they get paid to make it this difficult or it is just sadistic pleasure.
OK heres a quick one and I'm just letting ya'll know this is how I did it to save me time, wasn't spending more than an hour on this lol.
I bought some smoked out black housing headlights to upgrade the look. I've done this before on a Hyundai I believe that when the vehicle engineers decide to add a bolt from the bottom of the headlight that is only accessible by getting front bumper out. There are sometimes all you need to do is move down bumper OUT the way. I took out the top 2 screws from grille and 2 inner push clips and the 1 screw from each wheel well so that I reach into the fender clip area to remove that 1 time use white push pin. Then clipped off bumper off edges and by doing this I was able to open upper part of bumper towards you to give me enough space to use a long extension tool to reach that bolt under headlight housing, same for fender bolt. Off came headlights and bolted new ones, put back together and called it an hour. Total bolts and clipps removed = 4 each headlight, 3 each wheel well and was careful with bumper side brackets. Didn't need to jack up vehicle or removed the whole front end lol.
Great video and great products. I've bought several of your replacement headlights and they have all been high quality which fit perfectly.
I was going to change out my headlights because my Impala was super easy! But wow to the shop I go.

Swear! Impala’s were like 3 minutes to take and apart and put back together.
Chevy is about the only one to get swapping out headlight assemblies easy.
Mechanic shop quoted me almost a grand to change the headlights. I can (almost) see why after watching this.
Question: What is difference between LHT10597 ($225) and LHT03494 (388.95) headlight assemblies. Both say they fit a 2010 Ford Escape.
Lots of people hate on ford… ford makes good cars kinda… main reason guys hate ford is caused by working on the vehicles… ford- step one.. remove the hole front end…… Chevy- step one take a 10mm remove the 2 bolts and there you go
Thanks for this video I did the job easily. How the wire connections from my old light were hard to get off. That took most of my time.

Dear Ford: if you read this, please re-release the 2010 Escape XLT again, exactly as it was. Why must you people ruin good things?
Thanks for the video, and thank you Andy. I already had my bumper off to remove the fans (to get to the alternator connectors), so this was easy.
Thank you very much, what if you have screws that are stuck and won't get loose?
Your work is good .. I wish you success
+Muntazir Al Amri Thank you very much!
I have a 2009 and the waist thing to do is take out the battery so you can get to the clip of the connector. Push it in and pull out the connector twist out the bulb put the new bulb in the connector and twist it back on. It's a ten minute job if that. I have changed the passenger side yet but there's more space over there and it should be just as quick if not quicker
Love the video and greatly appreciate you guys! However, if someone can't find their hood release latch, they should stop this video and not proceed with trying to replace the headlights :)
I’m going to see if I can fab a nut on the headlight assembly, drill out the hole and use a nut and bolt accessible from the engine compartment. I’ll let you know how it goes. Or it may get a zip tie 🤠
Lot easier to just pop the hood and take the lights out of the engine area rather then taking the front end apart still a really useful video tho gonna use it to reattach my front end
luckily the bulbs can be reached in case of a failure. barely..
All this for a headlight?
On God🤣
Not me cussing the headlight out not knowing I had to take apart my whole front half…
Well the deer already took my headlight out. Too bad i have to do all that to get another one back in.
After seeing another video im tempted to get a hole saw and just cut a hole in the bumper cover to get to that bolt under the unit and doing something else with the hole.
Is it completely necessary to take off the entire bumper? Can you slide the light out without all of that
+Brian Vinzant Thanks for the question. The bumper does have to come off to complete this install.
It really isn't the bumper -- just a skin. Stupid new technology. Old cars were so much better and the lenses always stayed clear.
This is NOT for anyone who just wants to change the headlight BULBS. That's about a five minute process and you do not have to take the entire vehicle apart. Plenty of other vids on here show it step by step.
Wow is there anyway for me to do this without removing the whole front bumper
How about a video on how to replace the bulb of the headlight
This is ridiculous. I just want to change my lightbulbs in my hybrid, i shouldn't have to take the whole bumper off. I would have purchased a different vehicle if i had known i couldn't simply change a bulb

I can’t find the driver side adjustment screw
Thank you for your help
so how did the entire process take of removing and installing new headlights and reassembling >?
I just got two new headlights for my truck but if it takes removing the entire bumper to install them i might just stick with my old ones
i think my light aim is to high, how can adjust, yesterday been looking for align screws but i see no one 😂
I replaced the headlights without doing all this just remover the harness counter clock wise turn and pullout . But now I need to adjust my headlights it’s really bother some I can’t find the adjustment screw . I guess you need that special tool I’ll happily take my car to jiffy lube so I can have some working headlights
Great note all I need is a 70 thousand dollar lift installed in my drive way , become a certified mechanic and then I can change a damn light buld
I just don't understand what's wrong with engineering designing a replacement assembly map like this. It's almost incompetent that this would get by the final approval. We're talking about a headlamp assembly ONLY!
Jesus Christ
2006 silverado is the easiest headlight ive ever had
Can I throw a hellcat in my escape?

Ford decided not to make anything easy to replace on this vehicle.
I just had to do spark plugs and coil by having to remove the intake manifold and 50,742 other pieces 😒
Im replacing the headlights in a few hours, but ohh no i need to strip the car down to the frame 🤦🏻♀️
