I left Liverpool in 1979 when I was 17 and I've only just found these rehabilitation podcasts. I was blown away by your Steve French "Devil DeCoded" podcast, but this one is just stunning. I'm certain I've seen this guys story ages ago, I remember him getting locked up with his dad . . . What a salt of the Earth gentleman. This was one of the best I've seen. Billy, you've got a natural skill for being able make people relax and share their stories. One of the best podcasts I've seen in a long time, John has a fascinating story and the way he's went legit helping ppl get a job that pays the living wage at least, is very impressive, he's a great example how we can turn our lives around even with a dodgy past, great stuff...

The most proper guest out of all the podcasts. How humble and articulate. And so blasè about banging the rotherham beast out. And the story about his family being locked up with him/because of him and how that goes down now is down to a tee. Some man!
Great podcast again I remember John from back in the day with the ciggies always a good lad never a bully even when he was a juice head always a good laugh but with a serious message keep up the good work Billy lad.
Smashing these bill, proper scousers all of them 👍🏼 I can relate to everything johns saying. I grew up exactly the same but I was born 81 so I was a 90’s kid around Scottie road and Vauxhall road.

I once saw a documentary about crime and gang culture. John burton was interviewed and he came across as being articulate and openly honest but not arrogant and trying to play the gangster. And as we see here, he seems a top bloke whos been there seen it and done it.

Just watched this, and what John is doing is brilliant. I came out of jail in 2010 after a drug charge. No company was interested in me because I had a conviction. There was no help.. I didn't know what to do- but wanted to lead a straight life (which I have done). Inside Connections is a great thing to help people have a second chance..

Brilliant podcast could listen all day to two scousers chatting.Billy had so much to say probably only scratched the surface of what he did.would love to have heard more about the hooligan days and rave scene but still another excellent podcast and amazing to hear the turn around of Billy's life.
