thx lee i purchased the harig super 612 just like yours and your info to make the screw nut to break the taper came in real helpfull thank you kindly for posting that. i forgot to mention my 612 harig came with a walker control and a suberban 6x 12 mag chuck a 4000 dollar option.
Great job Lee! I'm watching these with great interest as I have a Harig 612 just like this out in the shop I need to get commissioned, your work is giving me the inspiration I need to take it on :)
The last hub extraction key would be nice to drill a (half ball bearing diameter) depth hole up the threaded end. So a ball bearing can be captured and used as a hardened slippery surface to press against the drive shaft.
Hi Mr Lee, My dad was a machinist and recently passed. I have a surface grinder and the wheel seems to be locked. Maybe it needs oil after watching your video. But I feel like maybe there’s also a safety lock I’m not aware of. I have a lathe, wet band saw, drill presses and more to sell. I’d love your advice on these items, what they are worth, if you can share my info with people in this line of work? It’s all located in Little Rock, AR. Any response is very much appreciated. I wish I had inquired more about his line of work as I got older but I went into the Airforce right after high school. I did plenty of band saw work when i was in grade school. Lots of templates. Thank you in advance, you definitely fit the mold of what my dad used to do. No pun intended 😊 Lisa Kruse
double take. at first glance I read "wench." Too many times I've seen an ad in the local paper, some guy advertising that he wanted to buy a "4 wheel drive pickup with wench." I've often wondered if he ever got what he advertised for.
Awesome video and thank you for sharing this with all of us. I recently bought a brown and Sharpe surface grinder and it did not come with a wrench or puller for the wheel. Do you happen to know where I can purchase arbors for the wheels or if it is possible to just make them myslef? Thanks again.
Great stuff Lee - double duty tools are most satisfying... extractor too - nice. I saw you'd put a slight double bend in that thick bar - can't remember right now but wondered what method you'd used to achieve that.
ChrisB257 held with my teeth 😜 Actually bridged it on a couple pieces of flat bar in the shop press & placed a piece of round stock on top that I pressed against.
Haha - yeah right LOL. You did pretty much what I had imagined and would probably do the same. I must make some extensions for my press like yours - trouble is not enough stock of the right size.
I would expect that the oily part on the wheel is because the grinder was ran with coolant, and the last time it was ran, the operator didn't let the wheel run dry after the last job to dry it out.
Couple of nice tools Lee, and I am sure they will get a lot of use down the road, cheers!

enjoyed...nice accessory build for the machine...simple/smart
The tools came out great.
Thanks Lee just what I needed for my newly acquired Harbots surface grinder.
Well done Sir!
As always another great video. You're an excellent teacher. Thank you.
Handy addition to the grinder. Maybe add some large lightening holes down the center and round over the edges? Thanks for sharing.
Great project and well done. Than ks for the video.

Very nice video, Thanks for the efforts. I need to make a similar wrench Subscribed 👍

Thanks for posting this one Lee!
Love the work lee. I am planing on making the same puller for my own grinder.

Nice job Lee... i will be making those tools for my "new to me" K.O. Lee surface grinder... Joe
Nice Job Lee !!
G'day Kevin from Australia.
Thoughly enjoyed this video 👍
Good stuff. Always a good time in the Tin Barn.

Good stuff Lee! Thanks, Doug
I like that knurling tool. I bet there's not as much side forces on the work using that design.
Excellent
Should have submitted that wrench to Emma's tool contest. I like the design.

Thanks Lee. I enjoyed it.
Lee have you made a wheel balancer? I would like to see that as a project. Also how to use the wheel balancer. Thanks
Don't think I videoed making the balancer, but here is a video of it in use. Thanks for stopping by.

Neat I like using sockets when I can
I like your vice stand
Very cool
How did you bend those offsets in the body of the new tool?
Hydraulic shop press. Placed some flat stock underneath with a piece of round stock on top & pressed on the round stock.
Ah! That's pretty smart!
I bet it's when they soaked the machine in oil for storage.
What is the weight of your surface grinder?
Paul Devey According to the documentation the grinder weighs 850 lbs. With the addition of the mag chuck & the cabinet I’m guessing close to 1000 lbs.
That spanner wrench probably fits another hub.
