Absolutely brilliant. Watch Yellowstone over and over. Almost want to be branded myself, it’s that good. Just wish Rip would shed that toothpick, though.
I wonder what it is about the show, if modern men are just lacking being a part of something larger and real in their lives. Something meaningful, in this fragile and confused modern society. I feel like I've learned more from this show about being a man than I ever learned growing up. And that desire to be a part of something bigger, that calls to every man.
@goldfishy I think it's about responsibility and owning consequences. I'm just old enough and young enough to straddle both sides. One side where I was given responsibility, earned trust, and learned good judgement early on. And another side of that where I knew if I got myself into a world of shit my parents could pull me out from the worst of it, unharmed. I see both sides of that in myself. I'm highly responsible, and I'll face the consequences of my actions, but sometimes I'm immature or too naive for my age. Maybe, quietly raising a family within one's means just doesn't feel as exciting as Yellowstone's portrayal of being a cowboy.
It's either home on the ranch, or life in prison for most of these guys. They choose to serve the 'ideal' of the ranch in exchange for the brotherhood.
