Watching this almost gave me whiplash because I've really only seen this show through clips on TikTok, and based on those alone, this plot was completely unexpected
Jaime got done dirty in this show, if they would have listened to him at multiple opportunities things could have worked out way better for the Duttons.
Literally dozens of people disappear and are killed and dumped in thr "train station" and law enforcement never even looks at the one connection that all of these individuals have to the Duttons. I know it's just a TV show but it's pretty hilarious😂
What connection? Loyd said people came from all over to dump their problems there but nothing about a connection to the Duttons. My thought is what happens if the gov't decides to run a pipeline or powerline through there are discovers all those remains?
@@scotmandel6699 That might work with random ranch hands, thieves, drifters, or hired muscle. But if a State AG goes missing every 3 letter agency comes sniffing around.
@@thmsmgnm exactly. They were killing influential, wealthy people. They killed government officials, they killed the rancher who owned the land right next to them and they killed their own brother. At some point I think law enforcement would figure out that the duttons are connected to all of these people but this is just a TV show
So they have an offer for $500M in season 1 and by the end of the series they end up selling it $0 and the Dutton family ends up broke. They should have just listened to Jamie and taking the money😂
No, it was for $1.1M the same as what they bought it for. Beth should have kept the house, barn and some of the grazing land for her and Rip instead of having to buy a new place. That way Loyd had a place to live and could continue to work the only ranch he ever knew. When those Indian juveniles started desecrating the Dutton's family headstones it really upset me.
For what we were given, this was the best ending. Thomas Rainwater and his people gained the land back which was IMO was going to happen inevitably. I do feel bad for Jamie as well because he was used as a tool throughout his entire life. First he wanted to do what John did, then he was convinced to be a lawyer, then he wanted the opportunity to be in key positions and John stopped it….like they turned him into what he became…
Jamie got lowballed to hell. He genuinely wanted what was best for the ranch too for most of the early show. But his father and Beth constantly kept pushing him away and disregarding him. Then for that brief while where he lived in the bunkhouse with the ranch hands, he looked like he finally felt at home. But then John decides its best to push him back into politics which breaks his trust even more, and the convoluted string of events that follow lead to his death. Beth and John did more damage to the ranch which caused the ranch to end up sold than Jamie ever did. The only reason they had to fight Jamie in the end was because they made him the enemy for no good reason.
man you had this one in the chamber didnt you haha the last episode of season 5 came out just hours ago!! cant wait to watch this video once i see the episode!!
I was pulling for Jamie over Beth. I don't see her appeal. I'm glad Jamie finally fought back. Fortunately, for Beth, a man came to save her in the end.
He was a horrid excuse for a human. He let doctors perform a hysterectomy on his teenage sister ensuring she'd never be able to have kids of her own. Without her knowledge or consent. Then in one of his last scenes threw it in her face that her kids would never inherit the ranch. Knowing he full well ensured that.
lol she knew Rip had her back. That was her plan all along to get away with it. Reason she played cat and mouse with Jamie so he's beat her senseless and she'd show the police her battered body. The writers really did Jamie dirty for sure and I hated Beth so much in the last two seasons. i was hoping they'd all die except for Kacey. This show was great for 3 seasons but ended up worse than Lost and Game of Thrones in finales
@@mythrapi73 Agreed. Jamie made a terrible mistake, but Beth is a terrible person. Taylor Sheridan should just turn Beth into a World Champion UFC fighter (on the men's side of course). That's about as believable as her character has been the last two seasons.
the last two seasons was garbage as far as I'm concerned. I really started hating Beth more and more and then started hating Rip more and more..then started hating Sheridan more and more. Especially seeing him dressed up as a cowboy on his millions dollar plus horse and having him turn in circles over and over iike that''s what real cowboys do. ofc real cowboys have million dollar show horses to spin in circles all day long..but the icing on the cake for me in my hate for sheridan came with him playing strip poker with Beth. God how I hate both of them so much ...glad yellowstone is over for good
I'm extremely disappointed with the Ending of the Show - It comes across as rushed and lazy writing. The Cast did a brilliant job with the subpar material they were given!!!! There was so much they could have done with the Ending.
Hey, Recap and Chill. I have a few great TV show recap suggestions that you might not have tackled yet. They are: Brooklynn Nine Nine. Parks and Recreation Community Scrubs. Would love for you to tackle these! 😁👍
What makes the show awful is the worst characters completely get away scott free with zero consequences. The treatment of Jamie in this show as just appalling and I knew it wasn't going to get any better so I stopped watching after Season 3.
Sheridan is a masterfully articulate and gifted writer. Yes, the cameos were a little self-serving, but he IS setting up, “6666” so he needed to give the audience something to chew on for that upcoming series. Tying in the prophecy from, “1883” and the underlying plot that people can be walking around in Heaven or Hell right next to each other because the land itself is alive, representing God. Saving the land in this way was the ONLY option to keep it protected and WHOLE, while freeing Kayce and Beth from a ranch they never wanted for themselves. John made the promise and fulfilled it, never losing an inch during the time he spent working and defending it. At the basis of the Dutton family is their need for legacy and the integrity of their word and promises made to protect it. The moral code is one Jaime struggles with, by tries to uphold using both the laws in black and white and all those grey areas he can. Beth’s rivalry with Jaime is overshadowing throughout most of the series, and John/Beth are scrupulous of any action he takes that could be deemed self-benefiting. It’s sad for Jaime, never knowing why he doesn’t seem to fit in or be good enough… because he wasn’t truly one of them. You can see when he switches from the mentality,“if you can’t join ‘em, beat ‘em.” Fortunately/unfortunately, Beth has far too much rage for this ever to happen, and the foreshadowing of the train whistle when he meets with Christina, is the audible death toll he hears coming. I thought it was all done very very well.
@@thmsmgnm I know the reviews were very much split down the middle, so I understand your answer. Was it more so the fact that they fought and fought to keep the ranch, then sold it for next to nothing? The wild murder scene with no real detective work? I could definitely agree, some things just hardly seemed believable, even with consideration for it being a show.
@ How about Sheridan’s shitty writing around a Governor’s suicide, you know the Governor who had been targeted for murder a few years before? State Police and Feds would have been all over that in a heartbeat. Suicides are investigated as a homicide until investigation can conclude it is in fact a suicide, as staged suicides are a means of covering up murder. That is a summary of a police training manual from the 1970s. It included a case study of officers wandering around home of a man who died from suicide via hanging, cops prowled around guys house, drinking coffee from dead man’s kitchen, failing to preserve evidence since it was a suicide. Coroner later determined hanging was staged to cover up murder. Sheridan has been a writer long enough to write a story with better verisimilitude.
It's a show lol. For your entertainment. But that being said I don't doubt that people in real life kill others to get what they want when it comes to property and money. But that's how it goes I guess. John was going to die anyways due to him not returning to the show. Sarah was bound for the same fate considering all the main villains so far in the series have been killed. And Jaime had it coming for a long time considering his character was so confusing but ultimately was the main guy behind the killing for his own dad. So yeah he was gonna die too.
Yup I've been telling people for years that this country claims freedom and etc but in the end is it really a free country?? Goverment can take away your land and your freedom in a heartbeat. Same with billionaires and corporations.
Its called taxes. John should have developed a better revenue stream like the four sixes did in Texas did selling beef, but he was just to stubborn. I also the thought horse thing was going to help get him out of financial trouble, but it never did.

That's how it starts out first the airport then hotels then roads then gas stations then homes and before you know your been bought out or forced out. It's Montana for Christ sakes leave one of the few states where humans have yet to ruin nature alone. & this is coming from a rancher myself.
