- Its been a minute since i made a beat that I loved off rip, but it finally happened. This already is in contention for my favorite beat that ive made all time. Love the smooth 1st half, really more CMIYGL inspired with the bongos and shiii. I wanted to work on actually chopping samples rather than only looping them, and I did both on this beat, which made the sample fit better imo. I Absolutely love the switch on this, the sample and piano just flow right into the 2nd half, then the distorted synth bass and synth chords/arp comes in. Really was going for a distorted feeling on the 2nd half, and i realize that some people might not fw it but I love it. A year ago on 1/19/22, this channel had 12 subscribers. I always had envisioned myself gaining a following and more importantly making dope music, but 1 year ago today, i was trash. I decided that i needed to change the way I operated and how seriously I took music, so I started making 1 beat a day, everyday. It started out ridiculously slow... 10-30 views a day on my entire channel, for about a month. At the time I was really only making trap beats. I started to switch up the beats I made from what was easy to make (trap) to what I wanted to hear. Because of that, Ive been able to make beats better than I ever imagined I could create. Now in one years time, Ive gone from having a 0% chance at making it big to like a 0.5% chance, all thanks to you guys. I appreciate every like, subscription, comment, piece of advice, recommendation... allat. Crazy how Igor inspired a whole wave of production (with due respect to Tyler’s influences). I’d love to hear how different people would approach vocals on a track like this
yea it def would be cool to see how people approach it from a vocal standpoint, the production on this beat specifically really makes it hard not to go hard (especially on the 2nd half) opposed to tyler inspired beats that may be more "singable"
I love how "Igor type beats" don't seem to necessarily need vocals, like, they're great on their own.

Yo! I respect your story and I love the beats big sir. I'm also starting my rapping too on the side, but hearing this really inspired me to have variety in my sound. I'm sure you might have heard of a subgenre in rap called "Aesthetic Rap"; I currently focus in that niche but I don't mind going outside of my comfort zone to rap on beats like yours.
