My son was reading Harry Potter in year 2. Just keep in mind, the books get darker as the series progresses, so if she falls in love with the story it may be a challenging balance with wanting to keep reading vs. what she's emotionally ready for. You may want to read them ahead of time to make a good decision, if you haven't already.
One book a year would maybe be a good way to go. I was 6 when I started with my brother (who was 8). But I am old enough that I was reading them as they came out. So there was a year between the first 4 and then 2 years between the last 3. So I definitely agree with wait for the later ones!

It might be crazy but I'm excited to see how Andrea learns to scale the stairs on the way down. The other kids have each had their own way of getting safely to the bottom of the staircase and I remember Emilia's belly slide, so funny! and so quick! XDI love these daily vlogs being any length, I just love them being daily again. I don't like the idea of shortening it on purpose, when there's more things they'd like to share and I'd love to see, but I also don't mind shorter days at all if they didn't feel it worth sharing or if they were too busy. I wouldn't like cutting it to 15 mins EVERY day just cus some days they don't think they could make it to 25 due to the busy or lazy day? I'd like to see everything they'd enjoy sharing because I LOVE the videos and the longer they are, the better, I still believe the little moments mean the most and there's no necessity to regulate the length of the vlogs each day, unless that's what Jonathan thinks is best for his family, with whatever length that requires for them.
@@helenamondragon8817 depends how fast she reads them. I know a 7 year old who has read all 7 and seen the first couple of films. I wouldn't let my 5 year old read them yet. Every child is different.

Re Harry Potter - 7 years old is probably fine for the first 2 books. Depending on the child you could even get away with book 3. I would say that book 4 gets a more complicated and a lot darker. The books get continually more complicated and darker as they go. They are some of the most amazing books ever written and I would definitely recommend all your children read them at some point, but maybe pace it so that you are not moving straight on to the next book when you finish the last. I'd also recommend reading them yourself first (a_ because they are brilliant and b) because they start dealing with some fairly adult themes and you would be best pre-warned about them). My friends son is 9 and he read 1-3 easily, 4 he read more slowly but loved, book 5 he got part way into and started to struggle. Of course once you have read them and see the films it is then the perfect excuse to go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Absolutely no point going until books are read and films are seen.
20 minute videos are the perfect length in my opinion :) I watch on my lunch break ( In The US so I get the video at 1pm my time ) so it works our perfect. At least for me lol

Really enjoying the recent vlogs and can already tell the change up of content. Glad you're doing a months trial of mon-fri vlogging so if it is not sustainable at least you tried it out. Thanks for listening to viewers suggestions and always put your mental health before the channel Jonathan. I personally think 20mins or so for a daily is good but be delighted with longer or content with shorter, whatever works best for the you. One thing I do miss from watching older vlogs is the music/sings you edit into the content but I know not everyone enjoys that addition.
I’d start Emilia on the illustrated Harry Potter books.. they’re so special and the pictures are incredible but they would have to be really really looked after maybe not let the little ones ruin them! The actual chapter books are probably too much for her age they get really long and heavy the more the series continues! But definitely the illustrated ones... if she wants to read a chapter book try.. worst witch it’ll be a good starter!
The Harry Potter books are written primarily for a 9 to 14 years old age group although people of all ages love them. I started reading them at 10 or 11 years old and LOVED them! The first book is probably appropriate for Emilia now because she seems mature for her age but the content of the next books does get much darker quickly and she might not be emotionally ready. Also, I'm not sure what her reading level is but maybe for the first book, you could read it to her or with her and it becomes a daddy & daughter activity before bed. The chapters are relatively good lengths and one a night could probably be done in 20-30 mins. :) PS I would definitely not recommend watching the movies until she is 9 or 10 or at least not until she has read the books. Her imagination will probably be less intense than how the books are portrayed in the movies and the movies might cause her to have nightmares.

I am LOVING the daily vlogs! 15-20 minutes are easy to keep watching with no problems! Your kids are absolutely adorable! Little Andrea is just so precious, such a little smiley pants!
I love having a video every night to watch before bed to wind down. Watching your family always helps me relax and relieve some stress. So right now having a video to look forward to 5 nights a week is perfect. The ideal length for me is between 20-25 minutes. Lots of love from The Netherlands.
