  • My pineapple dump cake with 3 ingredients recipe is easy and delicious! With canned crushed pineapple, white cake mix, and butter, along with an optional, secret ingredient, you can make a simple yet flavorful cobbler that's perfect for beginner cooks who need to feed a crowd.
    The first step of this recipe is easy: simply drain 2 cans of crushed pineapple and then "dump" them into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Although it's not an essential ingredient, adding in 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice helps bring out the pineapple flavor.
    Next, I sprinkled a box of white cake mix on top of the pineapple, and then used a fork to break up the clumps and smooth out the cake mix. Lastly came the most time-consuming part of the recipe: cutting the butter into then slices and then laying the pads of butter on top of the raw cake mix. Then it was time to put the cobbler into the oven.
    As expected, this pineapple dump cake with 3 ingredients turned out great. Even though I used canned pineapple, the flavor was very strong--probably because of the lemon juice. The topping was crispy and butter, just how I liked it. Honestly, this turned out very well.
    The only thing I might adjust would be the amount of moisture in the filling. Adding back in somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 cup of the pineapple juice would make the filling juicier, but then the topping might not be as crispy. Honestly, I think it's personal preference.
    Overall, this 3 ingredient pineapple dump cake with white cake mix was a big success. It's extremely quickly and easy to make, so it's the perfect dessert for feeding a crowd. This would be great at a summer barbecue, Sunday dinner, or even Easter or Mother's Day. If you try it, I know you'll like it!🍍🍋🍰🧈👨‍🍳😀😎

    Hi, Parnell👋I love the dump cakes! They are so easy and delicious😋 I think other flavors of cake mix would be good in this, especially the spice. You do the most precise job with placing the butter that I have ever seen. I wish I had the patience! Lol I like the idea of grated the frozen butter! That looks so good with the crispy top. I think draining the juice was a good call. Yummy! Great job, my friend! Hope your summer is going well😊💛

    Love the way you put the patties of butter all over the cake instead of melting the butter and drizzling over the cake mix! Beautiful!

      Thank you very much! It does take a bit of time, but I think it makes the dump cake turn out a bit better. Sometimes a bit of extra effort is worth it 🍍🧈

    Hi Chef Parnell,
    Look at how delicious this cake came out. I like the look of a little crispness. And I enjoy pineapple a favorite of mine.
    Your dump cakes are scrumptious so if you say this was better than I’m definitely going to make it.
    What do you think of pineapple cake mix. I have a box. Maybe it might be too much. I rather not experiment and follow your recipe first.
    Btw, I’ll be making the Rice Krispie recipe with PB chocolate chips this weekend. Had a busy one last week.
    This is a terrific dessert to make ….pretty quick and yummy. I think the hardest part will be cutting up the butter.😊😊
    Thanks a million. Awesome recipe. Great tip with lemon juice which I use in past recipes to bring out fruit flavors etc.
    Have a wonderful n blessed week.

      Hi, Kathy!
      If you like pineapple desserts, you'll like this. I have to be honest--I've never tried pineapple cake mix, so I can't comment. My gut tells me it might be too much of a good thing, like you said, but I'm not quite sure. And yes, the butter is the hardest part and the lemon juice is the secret ingredient.
      I'm excited to hear how your rice krispie treats turn out!
      Thanks for watching and commenting!🍍🍋🍰🧈

    What about a 4th ingredient...
    Brown sugar in the pan before the pineapple layer???
    Serve with coconut sorbet?

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  11 місяців тому +1

      That's a good questions. Personally, I wouldn't put just a layer of brown sugar on the bottom. If you're thinking of pineapple upside down cake, I think most recipes call for a layer of both butter and brown sugar on the bottom, so I think that if you just put sugar on the bottom of this, you might end up with literally just sugar, not the caramelized brown sugar you're probably used to on upside down cake.
      However, I think that mixing 1/4 cup light brown sugar into the pineapple, or sprinkling it on top, would be delicious.
      If you make this recipe with a layer of brown sugar, with or without extra butter, let me know how it turns out! 😎🍍

    Just a hint slice cold butter before leave in refrigerator. Also I have made so many Bundt cakes and always add pineapple with juices hence it is called dump cake just dump everything in one pan. I have also used pineapple cake mix if you are a pineapple level As noted not adding liquid may make it crisper but dryer the purpose of a dump cake is a moist cake

    Why didn’t you use the juice

    • @ParnellTheChef
      @ParnellTheChef  Місяць тому +1

      Good question! I thought that the liquid would make the top soggy and not as brown. I made a similar dump cake recently--I only drained one can--and it turned out great. So, if I were to make this again, I would recommend draining 1 can of crushed pineapple but using the juice from the other.
      Let me know if you give this a try 🍍
