I don't remember exactly how long I practiced before I started running, probably a week or a bit over. But this run is the result of over a 1000 attempts interleaved with practice of every segment, so the precise way of how to do everything is just muscle memory at this point. When it comes to the aldia skip it is not really that hard when you know the precise conditions under which it works. Once you figure out the angle, where you have to touch the tree for the items to spawn and where to run into the wall to get through quickly it just becomes a matter of repeating it until you can do it quickly and accurately.
As far as I know you can do everything in here on ps3 as well, as long as you run on an old patch. The skip to aldia's keep is noticeably harder though, but still possible. It will be a bit slower than on pc however.
Nope, the faster running speed is due to a glitch called bino boost that only works on the older patch of the game (1.02). If you do not cap the framerate to 60 with a tool like for example rivatuner (which is showing the fps in the top left corner) then the game speed might also vary a little due to the game inconsistently being locked at 60, but it is capped for this run.

If left on it's own the game will on most systems have random jumps up to 61 or 62 fps, which doesn't sound like much, but can sometimes produce noticeable speedups in game. For that reason the community has actually decided that for a run to get accepted the framerate has to be capped to 60 and the fps must be shown at all times. Hopefully that makes it a bit clearer.
lasha usupashvili Don't watch any % then. Glitchless categories exist, and this goes for any game. Pay attention to the title "Any%" is going to be full of glitches 99% of the time
if you want to see fewer skips try to find some All bosses speedruns of the game there are not so many game breaking-glitches. They may even help with a normal run of the game sometimes, like the Farron keep dagger skip in DS3.

wouldnt that be cheating tho since ur using an external program to uncap the framerate to make the game run faster?
