    This is the turntable I've got my mind set on. My last turntable was a Thorens TD 295 MK IV. It came with a Audio-Technica ATN 95E cartridge. I upgraded to the AT440MLa and didn't like it as much as the 95E. I've never owned a Ortofon cartridge before so that's a big selling point with this table!

    I've researched so many turntables and I think this is the one I'm gonna go for

      and how did it go? Better than the 2M red?

    Thanks for the video Kevin, dig the TT & dig your passion about audio!

      passion--the mother's milk of every huckster. Trust me, you can do a lot better with a small percentage of the cost if you can change the cartridge. It's the only thing worth the price here.

    Great product overview. Loved the points made on MM vs MC.

    Great deal, especially with a 2M Bronze. Better sounding than the 2M black, imo.

    The mmf-7.3 is a freaking awesome table. The sound it can produce is outstanding. Very well thought out turntable. Hard to beat for the money....I'll take it over anything from vpi, clearaudio or rega.....the walnut version is a beauty....stereophile gave it a glowing review, but did not like the cartridge...honestly I think they are nuts, as the bronze is a fantastic sounding cartridge especially when run with a tubed phono preamp ....

    Kevin its actually a NUDE FINE LINE not an elliptical. The 2M BLUE is elliptical

    Thanks for this review. I'm looking to upgrade from my mmf-2.3. It's a toss-up between the mmf-7.3 or two Pro-Ject tables. The X2 or the Classic EVO. I might even consider going a step up and buy the 2Xperience S-Shape. I could change cartridges easily.

      @@christinearmington I got an amazing deal on an X2. Pre-pandemic price. I jumped on it. I will wait for Roy Hall to update his x.3 line in a few years and hopefully go back. The 7.3 would have cost me almost $1000 more with the price increase that happened during the pandemic.

    I agree with everything you said Kevin except one, Moving Coil Cartridges can be re-tipped. I have a Dynavector 10X5 that I'm sending in just for that purpose and people have sent their Lyra cartridges in to be re-tipped.

      @@iggythechamp Ok, cool. I was only going by what I had heard years ago in the forums somewhere, or some trade show, or some demo sales pitch. It was the only reason I'd never seriously considered buying a Project turntable. So this changes things.

      Ahhh. I can vouch for music hall. I own a music hall mmf 5.1 with a high output Denon moving coil cart. It’s an extremely good table for the $.
      It’s well built, quiet and very easy on the eyes.
      They only drawback for me was having to take the platter off to move the belt switching from 33 to 45 rpm.
      So, I invested $100 in a pro-ject speed box. No more work. Haha

    I bought a Regar Planar 1 from you on 12/11/19 and your guy will not take it back on a trade. I barely used it and want to upgrade to the Music Hall mmf 5.5 w/bronze cartridge or mmf 7.3. Actually, I'm only 2 1/2 months past the 60 day return. Everything is in brand new condition. How about a deal Mr. Deal?

    It's a very average table made of cheap materials. Like all of the Music Hall stuff it manages to sound better than what it cost to make. They're not bad sounding but there's nothing special about them, either.

    • @budsmoker4201120
      @budsmoker4201120 6 місяців тому

      All products should be better than what it cost to make or you want be in business for long. Kind of a dumb statement. But it is just average.

    • @TheFibtastic
      @TheFibtastic 6 місяців тому

      @@budsmoker4201120 So by this logic, the turntable that costs the least to make but is sold for the most money is the absolute best turntable around? Maybe smoke less of that bud and look more into what's actually out there for the money as far as turntables go. MMF stands for 'make money fast' but sure, defend them in your spare time. I'm sure they're looking out for you.

    Here are the #s you'll actually be able to hear on this $1,600 TT: wow and flutter: ±0.1%
    , speed variance: ±0.06%. My $150 Technics belt-driven table from 1985 had much better performance stats than this. The stylus runs retail at $40 (amazonian), so you are paying almost $1,200 for a table whose wow and flutter will probably be noticeable. MH takes other companies' parts, reassembles them, then sticks them together as a Frankentable, plus a generous price hike. Keep the cartridge, throw away the table.

      Music hall tts are manufactured by project and share some parts but there is quite a lot of engineering/design going on. The dual plinth, motor placement, etc. the overall package is actually nothing like a project tt.

    buy a vintage turntable at a good price and spend your money on the cart!! Unless you are bleeding money and want something shiny, a HIFI turntable won't show any noticeable improvement....at least in my experience.

    Musical Hall turntables are pieces of shit made incredible poorly! For the money of a 7.3 you can get a Dual Made in Germany or Rega Made in Britain that leave the 7.3 musically in the dust...

    • @tonydeniro284
      @tonydeniro284 2 роки тому

      Have you even heard the music hall 7.3? Or are you speaking out of your ass? Dual is shit today, not the dual of yesteryear.....rega sucks.....no adjustments available.....mmf-7.3 fully adjustable. The 2m bronze is the cats meow....
