    Your way of teaching with illustration is very unique from any other fitness youtubers which makes you stand out. I love how you teach from the beginning to end, so that we could know how and where to progress. Thank you.

    Dude, honestly, this quality of a video is amazing! Not only content wise, but the visual art approach and the (familiar;) Happy tune.
    Keep up the good work, sub and like from me. And I'll now get onto my parrallettes. xD

    So glad I found this. Most “beginners” videos have way too many exercises I didn’t really know where to start. Or how many reps or how long to do them either.

    Nice artwork! I have a drawing tablet I have been trying to get the hang of and I would love to be able to find some decent tutorials. But of course what brought me here was the calisthenics, thanks!

      Glad you've been enjoying them. thank you for watching! Never seen the handles made with 2x4's but I've seen them made with thick dowel rods. It'll be interesting to see how it works out, good luck with it!

    tempted to get into instead of just heavy lifting.. worth getting small paralettes or higher so can also do dips??

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  7 років тому +3

      Its up to you. If they are going to be used only at your house then its usually works out well, although they do tend to be little wobbly if they are tall but cheap. If you want something portable definitely go smaller. Personally I use a homemade portable setup and I do my dips on rings mostly, which are portable too. The next video is a rings 101 video I should be posting today or tomorrow if you want to check them out. Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.

      ShapeShifters Den only room is garden and not greatest for being level. maybe small but sturdy if I go for

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  7 років тому

      Check for parallettes with a wider, sturdier base perhaps. There are also dip stations that are basically tall parallettes who's base's are connected making it one solid unit. This could also be helpful on uneven ground.

    • @ZeNex74
      @ZeNex74 7 років тому

      ill maybe make the smaller ones and see. cheers

      depends on price in uk, else its £35 for the small one on amazon. wasnt sure if too low www.amazon.co.uk/d/Gymnastics/Gravity-Fitness-Parallettes-Calisthenics-Gymnastics/B01AAJDB2Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496335462&sr=8-1&keywords=parallette

    Very informative video. I travel quite often for work and personally. I am looking for a set of parallettes which are sturdy and portable enough to pack in a suite case. I visited the link you posted for the parallettes on Amazon. They look sturdy but dont appear to be very portable. Do you have another recommendation?

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  7 років тому +1

      Well it depends on what you want to be able to do on them. The ones posted above are suitable for any use and they do come apart but it will require a tool. The homemade version in this video ua-cam.com/video/T2aDAvMi_Jo/v-deo.html are easily portable and are my personal favorite but obviously these require some work upfront to build. This pair, amzn.to/2oJlUfo is great for travel but they are mini parallettes and are could be difficult for someone new to the training or someone with flexibility issues who might need more clearance. Sorry I don't have a better answer, always on the look out for a good travel pair. If I run across a good pair I will post them. Good luck

    I have no idea what he's talking about/trying to explain at the 46 second point. Drawings don't help show whatever he's trying to explain there. I'm totally clueless what he's getting at. Pull low & hug?

    Hey dude
    Please reply
    Can I use push up bar instead of parallettes ??

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  6 років тому

      Dhanya Hegde , push up bars will work fine for certain movements and possibly for all the movement's if your hips are highly mobile. I myself started on pushup bars. Eventually in had to move to paralettes for things like l sit to hanstand press, but you could easily get a full workout without these movements.

    How often can these exercises be done?

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  6 років тому

      Depends on your current strength level and how much alternative training your doing. The limiting factor is usually the wrists, forearms, and elbows. If you haven't done similar work before, these structures can take a while to adjust to supporting the body. To get the most use out of the parallettes be sure to warm up the hands and forearms and use trigger point self massage on the forearms if they get sore. Hope this helps

  • @ptliang011

    You would suggest a parallete 1 ft off the ground 12" for a beginner???

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  3 роки тому

      Yea it's a great height for most people, with the exception being those who have hip mobility issues. If your hamstrings are really tight you might have a little trouble. Best tool for the trade is a set of adjustable parallel bars like you might find at a calisthenics park or gymnastics center. But for home training a 12" set of parallettes or a sturdy, interconnected dip station is a great way to go. Dip station is usually easier but if you fall it feels a bit worse. Lol. Hope that helps, best of luck my friend

    When you do a planche, do you still have o squeeze your shoulder blades together? or is it okay to round the shoulders?

    • @moversodyssey
      @moversodyssey  4 роки тому +1

      You won't squeeze them during planche, instead they will protract (round).
