  • I've been getting a lot of questions about the products and process I use when correcting paint, so I figured I'd make a quick video outlining how I do things. A question I wanted to touch base on was about why I use a rotary instead of just a DA. To put things into perspective, I was able to correct the paint on this large 4-door truck in only 7 hours, leaving it with a relatively perfect finish. The rotary cuts quick and slashes work time in half. Every step after that is refinement. Don't be afraid of the rotary. This truck is also a 2019 with 58k miles. Idk why I said 2022.

I'm not experienced with a rotary, but with a DA you want to keep the pad flat to the surface. Do you not use the same technique? It looks like you are using one edge of the rotary pad, sort of.

If you keep a rotary flat to the surface, it’ll want to skip and jump all over the place. In order to prevent this from happening, you lift the pad onto one side so it can work. I thought about this about after producing the video and should’ve include that info in it.

Yes, keep it flat. If it's skipping around it's because you're putting pressure on it or it's not actually flat. Also use the lowest speed.
